On the Street.....A Little Rock 'n' Roll, Soho

What I like most about this look is the very sophisticated color combination of the greeny-blue sweater with the blue jkt plus the jean cut pants.

Oh, to look that cool AND live in the East Village. Love the jacket!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:51 AM) :

A nice looking lad,but it looks as if he is shivering.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:20 AM) :

We have seen this boy before - and he ALWAYS looks as though he's shivering. Equally he ALWAYS looks good so clearly he's getting something right!

Blogger LYNN and HORST said ... (10:26 AM) :

he has this star appeal
could be
a well known singer
a model
a fashion icon
a motif for hedi slimanes diary

can someone just discover him?!

Blogger wear palettes said ... (10:42 AM) :

I agree about colors

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:07 AM) :

Nifty jacket. Everything, the bracelet, very cool. Great color sense, understated and works well.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:42 AM) :

I wish I could be dressing like this right now, but I'm in Ottawa! I agree about the colours, and the pants make the look so much better, for me, than jeans would.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:49 AM) :

I really like that jacket! I wonder what shoes he was wearing.
Maybe a pair of Converse? I like that look.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:14 PM) :

He's got the starving artist look down pat.

Blogger Laguna Beach Fogey said ... (12:15 PM) :

Nice photo, Sart.
I was not aware, that
Members Only is so,
fashion-forward.

Blogger Butch said ... (12:20 PM) :

Like the colors, but not crazy about the jacket's fit--nor "patches" plus epaulettes.

By the way, it's been rather cold in NYC for awhile; is there something about this guy's age that makes him impervious to the chill? Or?

Blogger Unknown said ... (12:39 PM) :

Aw, the colour palette is perfect, especially for the time of year and weather we've been having. The pop of teal peaking of of the sleeves just completes it.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:02 PM) :

i'd like my boyfriend to dress like him.

Blogger gabrielazeanadal@hotmail.com said ... (1:16 PM) :

I know that I always tend to comment on people's faces and atitudes and on the backgrounds instead of actually the outfits. But, I can't help it, more by the outfit and the colors this gentleman is wearing, my eye is caught by his misterious face. Like other people commented above me, I wonder who he is...

Blogger mimi said ... (2:01 PM) :

a post-punk take on the Romantic consumptive poet look...?
I love the colours! especially that silvery paving unfolding behind, and the slight redness and puffiness of his eyes, a slightly more...human (for want of a better word) touch against the sleekness of his look. And that little bright badge, I wonder what it says...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:18 PM) :

I am totally outside the fashion industry but this blog has me hooked. I have been frequenting it for months now and would say that my eye for colors has improved immeasureably. Photos like this one fascinate me and I study them carefully.

My shirt and tie collection has significantly improved and I get compliments now, which in Milano is NOT easy, since fashion is like a sport here that everyone plays.

Thanks so much to you all for sharpen the eye of this nearly color blind fool!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:25 PM) :

Is this the gentleman who is usually photographed on this blog with his dachshund?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:44 PM) :

He's soooo cool. Love him.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:57 PM) :

ok, what I like most about this look is.. bloody EVERYTHING!!
what a handsome,handsome man.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:09 PM) :

love the jacket

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:38 PM) :

Indeed nice look! Love the jacket. With the epaulettes, the vertical zipperpockets and the big flap waist pockets. Is that a pin-on- button he is wearing at the top closure? Not to obvious, but gives the jacket that extra subtle detail. Slightly military, tailored, punk are words coming to mind. It rocks!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:59 PM) :

his name is christopher and he is an amazing stylist and beautiful on the inside as well...anyone who knows him is lucky!

Blogger Jack Daniel said ... (5:06 PM) :

I want his pants!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:37 PM) :

The entire outfit it balanced between a very effortless look as well as something that looks quite put together. I really love this

Blogger maritza said ... (6:35 PM) :

Wow, he is achingly beautiful. I feel as if he could wear just about anything and still take my breath away. He is stunning.

Blogger Unknown said ... (6:42 PM) :

he looks like the lovechild of orlando bloom and adrien brody (that's a good thing). i wonder what the button says. also love that little detail of the chain link bracelet/watch.

Blogger Youngest Indie said ... (6:46 PM) :

Gorgeous~~~~~~~~~~~!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:49 PM) :

so so hot...sigh.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:02 PM) :

Wish there were more men like this outside of New York! Send me a cool rocker man like this to date please? If he is a stylist, I'd take lessons/tips!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:26 PM) :

he's wearing women's pants (the fly is on the wrong side)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:27 PM) :

Thats Christopher Niquet....

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:10 PM) :

yum. he looks like a consumptive billy crudup.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:54 PM) :

He is a stylist!!
He is such a nice guy.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:19 PM) :

the vertical zippers and slate color MAKE this jacket everything it is.

lovely...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:47 PM) :

what does his pin say?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:09 AM) :

terrible posture. Coat looks a wee bit small.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:35 AM) :

so he's a stylist.... well to me, he looks like a hot young poet. this blog makes me miss nyc so i try to drop by often. keep blogging mr. sart.

Blogger Keystofer said ... (12:52 AM) :

perfect color combo for the winter... the construction of the jacket is great and it fits him perfectly... the look is timeless... and very downtown-chic! ;-)

Blogger psyther said ... (1:16 AM) :

sure, cool jacket and simple approach...but does all it really take to make a great outfit is a cool jacket? He has paired with simple trousers and a tousled mop up top...hardly a forward look to me. It is a good, understated color match that works well...but as fashion guru is "greeny-blue" best you could descript? Then again, it is better than average styling for a guy...

Blogger employee1 said ... (2:36 AM) :

The jacket is at least based on an F2, which you can find surplus for pretty cheap if you're looking for one, though probably not in that color.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:51 AM) :

i have to wonder if gorgeous is also a criterion in your choices. i love the sweater peaking out. fabulous.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:22 AM) :

It's sort of a waxed-cotton military motorcycle-jacket jacket!

Ach, he's sweet.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:51 AM) :

Isn't this dude some kind of writer/editor/janitor? for a magazine? Anyways, love the fit of the jacket and the color of the sweater. I'm wearing mine around the house because of this picture and I adore the bracelet. Very chic and understated in his own little way. Also miss the dog though.

Blogger mydrid said ... (5:09 AM) :

LOVE HOW THE BRACELET LOOKS TOO. THIS GUY HAS A WARM GLARE EVEN THOUGH IT LOOKS LIKE ITS COLD.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:25 AM) :

Love the jacket, where's it from????

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:57 AM) :

oh my god ! je veux épouser cet homme!

Blogger tamlee said ... (10:42 AM) :

unless the photos was reversed, i think those are womens trousers. dickies girl trousers and jeans fit well on men who are slim through the hips and thighs.

i like how the jacket is tight across his shoulders without pulling too much across the chest.

i want to borrow this outfit.

Blogger Phillip said ... (12:53 PM) :

Nice colors, and he's cute. But it's cold in NY!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:07 PM) :

the jacket is a.p.c

Blogger Johanna said ... (2:13 PM) :

I really like this outfit and the fact that he looks like himself...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:29 PM) :

glad to see he's becoming somewhat of a regular. he has one of those beautiful faces that are hard to forget and a seemingly simple but interesting style.

Blogger Unknown said ... (2:49 PM) :

someone please tell me who makes that jacket.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:55 PM) :

Hey Scott,

I think your camera has a crush, because haven't we seen this fetching lad on your blog before? (On The Street.....UPDATE The Fashion Editor, Nolita - Dec. 5, 2006)

He looked amazing then and he looks so chic now!

You should try to snap a photo of him in the Spring, as I'd be curious to check out his warm-weather look! (So far we've only seen him giving us F/W....)

Blogger SocalStyle said ... (5:40 PM) :

He reminds me vaguely of Jim Sturgess.

I love the shape of this jacket.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:36 PM) :

i'm in love.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:09 AM) :

no matter how skinny you are, or how cut your hair cut is, or how "hip" you and all your friends are...
too small is a bad fit, just like too big.

if his clothes fit, his look would be killing.

but they just don't. they're too small.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:02 AM) :

His name is Christopher... he is featured in the Fall/Winter 2008 A.P.C. Look book which was shot in New York last year.

Blogger stylePOVist said ... (10:03 AM) :

such a poetic face, probably the American counterpart of Oli. Theyskens, which is rarely seen in U.S. young lads.
i really like the cut, someone said a.p.c.? if so, they improved their cutting then, he looks good in the blue-collar blue and emerald green knitwear (both are quite difficult to pull off usually). I couldn't help but notice the chain bracelet. Above all, he has that face and hairdo that draw all the attention. Lucky chap!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:05 PM) :

It's an APC jacket from S/S 07.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:31 PM) :

Giuseppe, I so do not agree with you. I think the fit is what makes him look amazing. Besides, the photo is titled "A Little Rock 'n' Roll". Bigger would make him look conservative like everyone else. Maybe you just want his ensemble, but prefer it larger?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:37 PM) :

His clothes aren't too small at all. You're blind.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:58 PM) :

you're right...the colours are sublime and bring out his gorgeous skin tone. love this photo.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:17 PM) :

His clothes are NOT to small - it's called fitted! ... I realise most American men like the idea of wearing tents but fitted clothes are far more appealing. The fit is perfectly fine, he's pretty lean - he doesn't need overly baggy threads unless he's trying to replicate 50 cent or someone like that - which I'm sure we would agree is not a great look.

Blogger ellastica said ... (2:19 AM) :

i'm pretty sure this guy styles for the new and somewhat improved ELLE magazine.

interesting texture to the pants.

i do like the slice of teal sweater underneath the navy jacket, even though it's a color i usually picture on a woman, in the form of a twin-set cardigan or something matronly.

from a distance he reminds me a tad bit of singer Jesse Malin.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:36 AM) :

I'd like my boyfriend to look like him :(

Blogger dnqcnn said ... (1:43 PM) :

A little rock 'n roll is the best thing that can ever happen to you

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:08 PM) :

this has a very father-from-the-Munster's feel to it. idk, i kinda like it.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:43 PM) :

where to kop that jacket, its great. would have wanted to see pants and footwear. the color of the jacket looks so right for winter.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:24 PM) :

its christopher! he always looks cool! is he living in new york now?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:56 PM) :

Yowza Yowza, I know this feller would be eaten up alive if he appeared up in Newtown Co. Waterford Ireland. Flynn's Pub to be exact!

Blogger 2020VISIONNG said ... (6:51 AM) :

Wow he looks like Sylar in Heroes!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:17 PM) :

Coat. Hair. Drool.

Blogger Rael said ... (1:00 PM) :

first off... he is gorgeous!!!

then, his trousers fit him quite well. its not pulling at the crotch or n e thing like that. the jacket looks casual but tailored at the same time. hes got this sort of awkward posture and the hands in the pocket make me think of dork... but the cute dork.

Blogger deborah said ... (2:17 AM) :

he looks cold, but he looks good! i like color and the slim fit of his jacket. simple.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:11 AM) :

Beautiful face on a beautiful man. It looks like everything he is wearing is APC from what I can see. The jacket is APC, and the sweater beneath is probably APC... He looks beautiful in their fall catalogue.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:41 PM) :

God, he is SO hot. Another sigh.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:19 PM) :

Do you know where can I find him? He is so gorgeous, i want him to be my boyfriend! What a great jacket!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:26 PM) :

Do you know where can I find him? He is so gorgeous, i want him to be my boyfriend!

I agree about the whole fitted thing, its a very European ideal. Especially among British men.
Most American men don't understand or know how to wear nice tailored clothes.
What a great jacket! Is he english?

this is what my future husband should look like

Blogger peachgirl said ... (7:41 PM) :

Oh so cute! This boy looks just like all those adorable indie bands from the early 90's. Absolutely love it!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:58 PM) :

wonderful outfit,beautiful face...
why can't all men be like you?

Blogger emc2 said ... (9:30 PM) :

Jacket, sweater, pants. All perfect. Perfectly minimalist, exactly what I adore to see. And he's gorgeous, which is a plus.
