He makes it look very simple (but I'm guessing that it's really not that easy).
I'm interested by the soft collar. Here in the Uk I think most guys would use collar stiffeners here. Is the soft collar an Italian thing?

Apologies, but I must agree with 4:39 AM that the trousers seem a bit too, ahem, tight. I could never get through a day of meetings and moving about town in trousers that appear so restrictive. Love the vest and the knit tie.
I agree, let's not nitpick. Actually, I'm opposed to it in general as I believe the way we choose to adorn ourselves is an artisic and personal expression, truly unique, hopefully authentic, and therefore worthy of respect. (In most cases. . .)

I have to agree with the tight trouser comment: the gent hangs right and that's more than I feel I need to know. Perhaps I spent too much time looking in that area, but I can't even see a fly of any sort on those trousers. Indeed that tailor is doing a fine job of matching the plaid!

Aren't you supposed to be inspired by those who have reached perfection, Scott? It's all about the ~*~positive thinking~*~ The flower is totally darling. Buttonholes should come back, but they'd get overblown if they did, I think. Bigger is not always better.
I've actually always wanted to get a bespoke suit so I could have things like properly aligned patterns. I LOVE it when they line things up in plaids. Everyone should, really. And fit. Do women really get bespoke suits though? It always seems like the bespoke suit scene is so.....male.
Wow, that suit is fantastic. As a sewist, I can appreciate the workmanship in it construction. One thing seems unusual to me, it appears his pants have no front fly. I wonder if it was placed in the back or the side seam.
I actually stared at that for a good 3 minutes! i think its my favorite outfit i have ever seen! i love the way the plaid meet at the notchit just looks amazing and the way the plaid at the crotch is lined up! If i were Gay i would be in love!

The jacket fits perfectly. I agree he is very well put together. He looks very sophisticated in a stylish, masculine way. I don't mind the tight pants since they add a certain sexyness to his outfit.

Lucy - the soft collar has got buttons beneath it to maintain it (Italian rather than Engish version of the stiffeners).

Lucy, soft collar is an Italian thing. It comes, mostly, from neapolitan style (that I love so much!).

It might also be the way that he's standing, but the plaid on the jacket almost lines up perfectly with the trousers, as well. You are correct about that being the mark of good tailoring - the pockets are also indicators.

What a wonderful plaid! I love the knit tie. And see how the pocket square does NOT match the rest of his clothing? Even the tortoise shell specs are a fit. His style is cliche, but the execution perfect. The shoulder/sleevehead match may be impeccible, but the look is rendered animalistic and truly masculine by the break of his pants.
This is why we vacation in Italy!

I love how these Italian guys layer up the sweater with their suit/ jacket looks. Very Mama always told me to wear a sweater in winter!
One question, I'm wondering if his shirt isn't bespoke. One cuff seems longer than the other. This is the problem I encounter having sleeves on a jacket altered to my uneven arm lengths but not on the shirt... Am I destined for custom shirts?

There is SO much going on here and that it is brought together so well is amazing. I think what you see with the "soft" collar is actually an oxford button-down that is not buttoned (look at his left collar point). I think with all the talk of twill/tweed being back and wearable- adding a pattern to it is even better than just trying to incorporate a monotone color in a new way. The wide knit tie is awesome.

Can you not see the drag lines at his upper inner thighs? His pants simply do not fit his body. I know sometimes pants profile differently in regard to cut, but these look like women's pants that are cut straighter in front. Even though everything else is spot on stylistically in, there is no excuse for ill-fitting apparel...especially if you want us to revere him sartorially.
It's not a soft collar, it's a button- down with a fairly substantial height (and won't have the option for collar stays. Most Italian shirt companies make this style.
Because his clothes are little too tight, it conveys a really studied and "trying to hard" look that bothers some people. The clothing combination is great, but he doesn't look comfortable.

i would think the pocket square has some sentimental value.. that or he just loves it a lot! the pants probably just worked their way up a bit, but my eye keeps going right back to the perfect plaid on them anyway. i bet when he "buttons up" the plaid on the jacket and pants match! the quality of every material on his body is beautiful and lush! and im sure it is "easy" for him, its who he is.. the only hard part for detail oriented pp is seeing every imperfection that enters their life!

Beautiful tailoring - I have tried matching plaids while sewing and it is one hellish job at times. This is so far beyond me I can't imagine. What is the pocket square? It almost looks like a bit of the plaid fabric banded with turquoise...? hmmm...
The stripes of the collar do not match the lapel. A persickity bespoke detail that you see on Savile Row chalk stripe suiting. Here, who cares. The orange and blue snap this. Did he go to U of FL or U of IL?

Is this a bespoke suit? The construction is perfect, as mentioned all plaids matching on pockets etc, very well done. Dries is adding flower accessories, maybe it's his suit too? But, it's pretty revealing in the crotch, so perhaps the suit is Italian after all!

I love how this man takes features of his outfit that could seem like "too much", and makes them "just right". Using the navy knit tie and vest keeps the suit, the flower, and the glasses down to earth.
The shaved head is wonderful too! It highlights his masculine face and bold glasses. I bet his green eyes just pop if we could see him straight on.

I think everything is perfection. Really wonderful. Some people mentioned that the pants are too tight. I disagree. I think everything is right on. I never understand why women are meant to show their bodies, revealing their sexuality through hem length, cleavage, etc. While men have to cover everything up. I love it.
I think all the details are awesome, but I have to agree with a number of people who have commented on the person's pants: they could be looser. He doesn't look comfortable and if they were a little looser, it would be more flattering.

This man is sexy as hell. There's no way around that. But really, the colors, the details, the fit- these things are intentional, and I like that.

I like the cyan blue pocket square. If it had been too "matchy matchy" with the colors of the suit it wouldn't have popped. This makes you take a second look.
His shirt sleeves are not uneven, because if you look at the way he is standing there are more wrinkles in his right suit sleeve than his left, thereby pulling the sleeve upwards exposing more shirt sleeve.
And his pants are fitted, which because everyone is so used to that horrible baggy look in everything that anything fitted appears too tight.
I wish I could give this picture to some of the attorneys in this office and show them what a real suit looks like.

I enjoyed going through all the comments to gauge people's reactions and my interest was most piqued regarding the fit of the featured gentleman's pants. In the past I was intrigued by comments on women's clothing that to some eyes didn't flatter their figure. We all get dressed the way we do by way of a complicated amalgam of choices, which for me can be an exciting dance of color, texture, silhouette, etc., not necessarily if my waist to hip ratio is evident.
That being said I am enjoying, with a smile, this gentleman's combination of choices,
