Nice outfit!

I've got the exact same jeans! :P

Blogger DATALOG said ... (12:26 PM) :

cute guy with an eye for what fits! that coat is perfect on him and the hat that is slightly askew adds some whimsy. good shot, sart.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:27 PM) :

Great look!
I love the crisp, clean look of the jacket.
And the hat and bag are playful without being silly.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:58 PM) :

Give us our Canadian back! Love the shoe color and the plainness of the jacket.

Blogger wear palettes said ... (1:03 PM) :

a christmas colour touch by wearing that hat.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:08 PM) :

very cool look although spring like; perhaps he is heading for a resort holiday. missed the sart over the holiday weekend, hope you had a fine one!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:20 PM) :

Blogger Unknown said ... (1:40 PM) :

Does anyone know what bag that is...? Love it

Blogger gabrielazeanadal@hotmail.com said ... (1:41 PM) :

Rainy shots are beautiful: the way the buildings are reflected in the wet road creates such a special effect!

About the outfit, he must be a great character. He has a great posture and I love his plain coat and colorful hat: a combo of serious and fun.

There is something very Christamasy about him. I would say that he is going home to get some sleep after spending all night long helping Santa.

Blogger Carolina Lange said ... (1:53 PM) :

Very nice!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:33 PM) :

Absolutely love the coat - the color, the fit, the length. Love the pants (jeans?) too - not too skinny, not too wide - just right.
Just lose that silly hat.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:39 PM) :

interesting layers matching his headwear.
and what is in his bag?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:44 PM) :

Not liking or disliking - just don't see anything special here. Wouldn't give it a second look.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:46 PM) :

i like it. i like him.

hi sart!

Blogger shabnom said ... (3:22 PM) :

Was the sunlight that harsh or did you put the settings like that? Either way it looks brilliant, all inky deep shadows. Wow! I love that his outfit matches the colour palette of the background. And his bobble hat set at a rakish angle? Bravo! It's great that his shoes work so well with the rest of his outfit but I can't imagine pale green being all that versatile.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:09 PM) :

I really love the cut of his jeans, and the shoes. Did he just buy everything that very morning? That's my only quibble - everything looks a little too starchy-new.

Blogger Gratistotal said ... (4:26 PM) :

Beautiful and stylist man.

The best blog!!!

http://raquel-gratistotal.blogspot.com/

Blogger Unknown said ... (4:27 PM) :

I love that APC coat on him. And the canvas bag. And the jeans. and the shoes. And the hat. Picture-perfect kid.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:11 PM) :

he looks hot! i need to know where that bag is from! can anybody please tell me?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:25 PM) :

i need to find me one of him. i love everything about this outfit.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:51 PM) :

This is "relaxed" meets "neat as a pin". Very unique combination.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:18 PM) :

Yummy guy. Love the coat, and the shoes, and this, gentlemen, is the way to carry a bag without looking ridiculous.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:27 PM) :

oh he is so lovely!

Blogger Alice Olive said ... (6:43 PM) :

Clean, simple and with a ruffle of colour at the top. Individual style.

Blogger jason said ... (6:56 PM) :

he's adorable.

Blogger Austin.Garnett said ... (7:01 PM) :

love it.. i've been going back and forth between growing my hair long and buzzing it off

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:15 PM) :

it's very subtle. i live the way the colors of his hat co-ordinate with his shirt just seen beneath that lovely coat. i'm also not sure how much the actual photograph contributes to the style and coolness factor - it's a great shot.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:16 PM) :

The ponpon really pulls it together, doesn't it?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:16 PM) :

Anyone know where he got this mac from?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:17 PM) :

come to union square, SAN FRANCISCO!

Blogger Asi Mod said ... (7:52 PM) :

Merry Christmas, Sart!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:05 PM) :

So Cute!!!The shoes i'm not feeling,maybe for spring/summer.

Blogger Jason Lam said ... (8:08 PM) :

hey,
can someone tell me what kind of bag that is?
and where I can get it?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:20 PM) :

Love the coat. If it is a real Mac, so much the better.

Always in search of the "perfect" bag, this one seems to be holding a lot and looks ok.

Undecided about the shoes. Kind of ordinary, banal even.

Trousers are also not interesting. Am I missing something?

The "touque" is a typical part of winter dressing where it is cold. This one has whimsy.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:48 PM) :

good!
my style

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:59 PM) :

this reminds me of something my friend Charlie would wear...I love the quirky hat and unusual-color of the shoes!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:11 PM) :

The shoes! I almost bought a pair like them today, only a women's version.

I like this guy. He seems friendly, and he's well dressed, and he is not afraid to wear things that may seem silly, like that cap, but he actually works it in a way that is so intrinsically hip.

Blogger Sam said ... (10:19 PM) :

So...?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:35 PM) :

love the shoes, dont like jacket, maybe its the lighting of the photograph, but it isnt workin for me, i like how he wears his hat like T.I(rapper), but he is on this website so hes doin something tight.

Blogger Rita said ... (10:43 PM) :

Lovely gentleman. I really like the colors.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:01 PM) :

every man should follow.

Blogger pearlaceous said ... (11:22 PM) :

Great shot! Love the reflection on the road.. I like how everything on the outside is beige, and more colorful inside. I like how minimal and sleek his coat is, his hat is fun and seasonal and matches what he's wearing under..

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:00 AM) :

It looks like he snatched that hat from his kid brother in the last minute before leaving home. Cute.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:01 AM) :

Stunning! The crisp look of the coat, dark jeans, and bag contrast well with the vintage look of his hat.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:31 AM) :

So the snow is away. Can not say I like the outfit of this gentleman.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:42 AM) :

'Uber'/Cool not to much stylisch look!
Peter from Amsterdam.

Blogger UMS said ... (4:18 AM) :

I think his bag and jacket are great. And well done for looking so composed with that hat with the bobble. I know I wouldn't be able to keep a straight face with such a fun hat on.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:20 AM) :

Hi,
I can't stop thinking of what his shirt looks like!!! Great outfit.

bye,
Franz Benjamin Hefele

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:06 AM) :

very stylish, like it alot!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:09 AM) :

love the bag ♥

Blogger underneath said ... (5:59 AM) :

This you can call effortless - he looks like one you want to marry.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:16 AM) :

ha! I bought those shoes too and every time I wear them I can't decide if they're the best thing ever or a really bad idea - they always provoke the odd raised eyebrow... they're dashed comfortable at any rate... I reckon he's pulling them off pretty well though - maybe I'll revisit them...

Blogger sunni said ... (7:01 AM) :

his beanie is so cheeky! this is minimalistic quirk at its best :) he is not predictable at all, quite refreshing.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:01 AM) :

Cute. I love the shoes and the bag. The slanted hat makes this outfit even better and it adds a unique touch.

Blogger Luiza Sauma said ... (8:35 AM) :

nice man bag

Blogger Butch said ... (9:42 AM) :

This is, I believe, a case in which the parts are greater than the sum thereof.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:44 AM) :

Love the hat! Great style for winter. The trench is also handsome.

Blogger Mother Gin Sling said ... (10:48 AM) :

Are you going through post-Christmas depression? This is just dull---at least a quality (sic) that is not to be found in the previous posting...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:56 AM) :

Love the color his hat adds!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:04 AM) :

hot!

Blogger Allecra&Sage said ... (11:17 AM) :

love the touch of the colourful hat!

Blogger Uinku said ... (11:21 AM) :

I really love this one! He looks very Scandinavian. I especially like the patterned shirt underneath the clean/simple coat. Love the colour of the shoes too!

By the way, when are you coming to Amsterdam mr. Sartorialist? ;)

Blogger lars stephan said ... (11:29 AM) :

The simple combination dark blue jeans with a beige caot combined with matching shoes and bag almost always works. Almost a classic coor combination. Like the litle hint of color from his shirt underneath

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:32 AM) :

i like it.
minus the pom pom hat. a simple hat of the same blue color would have been just right.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:49 AM) :

hidden buttons and a slim silhouette are wonderful. but i wish i could see what that red is underneath

Blogger Diana said ... (11:49 AM) :

you make it so easy to fall in love

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:12 PM) :

i love the light coat and shoes. what a kind-looking man! His skewed hat is icing on the cake.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:26 PM) :

I like this, very calm post-christmas party (the day after all the eggnog)! I love the jacket and shoes!

Blogger Suzanna Mars said ... (12:26 PM) :

Nay, this coat is for naught. While I have sort of an abstract appreciation for the shoe/coat match game(watery butter with watery chartreuse), I cannot find a similar sentiment for the fit of that piece. The scale is all wrong even as the sleeve length is all right.

And I'm perplexed by the bag, which makes this tall man's hands look delicate.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:31 PM) :

The jacket totally makes the outfit. It's so sleek and refreshing and it pulls together the otherwise annoyingly whimsical parts of his outfit into a more sleek and sophisticated whole.

Blogger Sarah said ... (1:03 PM) :

i think this guy is super handsome. i don't know how i feel about the man purse though.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:24 PM) :

Blogger Mischo Beauty said ... (1:37 PM) :

OMG- it's all about the hat!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:48 PM) :

I must say, my favorite part about this man is his crunched up left ear.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:55 PM) :

I love this look. It's very clean and stylish, but a little whimsical. Very cute.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:57 PM) :

ugly shoes

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:04 PM) :

hello cutie.

Blogger skarpetka said ... (2:07 PM) :

just gotta love that hat!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:22 PM) :

I love this outfit! He is so charming!

Eu amo esse modelão!! Ele tá muito charmoso!!

Greetings from Brazil!! Why don´t you come to take some pictures around here? If you could feel how hot is in São Paulo rigth now.. Lovely mini skirts and ligth colorful dresses.. beautiful!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:59 PM) :

Who makes his bag? His shoes?

Very well put together without being over done.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:28 PM) :

it's all about the accessories... the bag, the hat. brilliant. what's the bag? jack spade?

fantastic photo, once again. i love how you portray new york. dreary, dirty union square west with a mercedes s550 in the background. nice. ;)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:28 PM) :

Love the red sweater peeking out from the collar and love the bag.

Like the coat, but it looks more like a spring coat than a winter coat, the light shade I guess. A great shape and length for him.

I also like the beard. It helps him avoid looking too boyish but he still looks youthful.

But the hat looks like when you were 9 and your grandmother knitted you a horrible pompom hat for Christmas and your mother forced you to have your picture taken in it to show Grandma how much you loved it. Not that I'm still bitter.

And what are those shoes? Do I really need a pair of shoes to take me from my sailboat to the bowling alley? And in pea soup green no less?

Love the blog, Sart.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:45 PM) :

hi...I'm latin american...I love this blog!!
I hope you come to my blog
please!this blog it's so good, thanks for the style lessons

Blogger Patent Shoes && Rants said ... (3:52 PM) :

I'm digging the hat.

xoxoxoxo

Blogger Julia said ... (4:37 PM) :

Love his clean look, especially that Jack Spade bag.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:41 PM) :

It could work great if he'd loose that hat. I'm aware it's coordinated with the shirt but that kind of hat just clashes terribly with the rest of the outfit.

Blogger Cheltenhamdailyphoto said ... (5:30 PM) :

Looks like someone's just handed him a new bag, coat and shoes. Doesn't work. For me.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:40 PM) :

very yes.

m

Blogger ev said said ... (5:41 PM) :

Im sure he stands out in a sea of black and gray.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:09 PM) :

I fancy his bag. And his well done layering. The plaid peeking out of his solid jacket is great. I love the single button peeking out. Also the perfect jean length and his shoes are a beautiful color. The hat is doubtful, but I think he would look too plain without it... everything else about his outfit is subtle, but the hat is just festive. Does this say anything about his personality? In short, divine!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:59 PM) :

Sart, by any chance, did you ask where this gentleman's coat was from? Would love to know...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:27 PM) :

hot.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:32 PM) :

I especially like the cap!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:37 PM) :

Love the outfit. Really cute guy too ;)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:38 PM) :

adorable!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:43 PM) :

noble effort, but his hat is sliding back and those shoes don't work with the outfit

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:53 PM) :

great coat! i used to have a slim-cut cropped mack from jcrew, but i lost a ton of weight and now it just swallows me. what are some other "affordable" brands that carry well-fitted macks like this, sart?

ps - i'm going to new york new years weekend! long shot, but i hope i run into you!

Blogger Shit Talker said ... (8:53 PM) :

great look. he remains young but not sloppy or unrefined (not that being young means that you automatically either of those things). he looks comfortable and like himself (if that makes sense).

where is the bag from?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:47 PM) :

I love the hat. It adds just the right color burst.

Blogger fauxfauxreal said ... (10:31 PM) :

wow, love this look esp. the trench(?) coat!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:43 PM) :

props to this guy for looking grounded and fly at the same time. a lot of guys on sart look like they came out of the house knowing they would be photographed.

awesome jack back too

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:20 PM) :

Hmm, not too exciting. Should have saved himself some money and bought a Filson bag instead. Better quality for less money always wins in my book.

Blogger MMahmood said ... (11:34 PM) :

Love the cap, his expression and his shoes:)

Blogger lieschenmueller said ... (12:20 AM) :

how adorable!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:17 AM) :

I'm sorry, I can't stand those ridiculous Jack Spade bags.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:31 AM) :

First I thought this was plain boring - than I saw the hat! It's hilarious!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:13 AM) :

I wonder if there are people getting dressed and walking the streets to meet the Sartorialist. Pretty unlikely, isn't it?

Blogger . said ... (9:19 AM) :

Beutiful coat.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:47 AM) :

I like his hat, :-)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:20 PM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:32 PM) :

Bag, trench, shoes all Jack Spade. The shoes are a collaboration with Sperrys - better than the Band of Outsiders joint effort. A+++

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:24 PM) :

I would be VERY surprised if this gent didn't work for Jack Spade/ The hat, coat (they sell official Macs there), bag and shoes are all apparently from their store/line. I think I recognize him from the shop, in fact.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:16 PM) :

It's not a Filson bag. Filson bags are similar but way nicer.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:03 AM) :

the shoes are Sperry Top-Sider's Captains Oxford in Smoked Elk...i thought of buying a pair in the fall, now i'm sure i will (they also have a traditional boat shoe in the same color)

Blogger kalindoscopy said ... (1:07 AM) :

An excellent angle on a difficult hat.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:41 AM) :

the bag is from jack spade...posted repeatedly before though

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:53 AM) :

Some of you say you want to marry him based just on these clothes? Are you people for real?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:55 AM) :

yukky shoes!!!

Blogger Disneyrollergirl.net said ... (12:35 PM) :

Simple but stunning. Only noticed the bobble hat after reading these comments. what's wrong with Jack Spade anyway?

Blogger The Pilgrim said ... (1:43 PM) :

I love the look, the coat is great, I actually went out running to find one though I wouldn't be able to wear until march or so (too cold here in Madrid)!
I also love the quirky touch of the hat.

Blogger Unknown said ... (3:13 PM) :

i like the slim-cut cream rain mac very much, certainly a coat i'd like to own. somehow i like the whole look, albeit a bit too bohemian for me. personally, i wouldn't wear a beanie with a mac and i don't really like the chap's shoes. an outfit that suits him, however.

Swap his shoes for converse all star trainers and that's the way I dress, I am just shorter and not as sexy : (

He looks rather Margaret Howell to me, however I swear I saw his raincoat in Liberty's of London over a year ago (with a hefty price tag) by mackintosh

Blogger bomb.ass.ting said ... (8:28 PM) :
