Love the YSL shoes! Love love love the fierce attitude!
Dress in purple my friend!

Maybe I would choose a less obvious bag; more obscure bad ass bag. This balenciaga V3 is so Disney.

Blogger Alice Olive said ... (9:11 AM) :

Yes, the shoes. Love the shoes. However when I opened the photo, the coat really stands out - such a subtle colour and so beautiful.

Blogger Carolina Lange said ... (9:20 AM) :

Beautiful and sexy look!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:31 AM) :

with her petite size, those shoes look like gigantic muppet feet. purple mary janes are cool idea with black, but i am sick of that trandy and ridiculous YSL platform.

Blogger O!Lightning said ... (9:33 AM) :

Wow this is got to be favorite ever post!!!! I read everyday. This woman is just so beautiful, and she rocks a style tend to I rock. She does it with sincerity and pleasure, so it doesn't look like overstatement. I am really getting a lot of joy out of this one. THANK YOU.

Blogger Laguna Beach Fogey said ... (9:37 AM) :

Nice photo. Very, very sexy. Delicious. Normally I am not a fan of leggings or tight denim, but I think the look works for her here. It works for me, at least. Well done.

Blogger laia. said ... (9:44 AM) :

so rich, so luxe, so decadent but not trashy. beautiful.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:51 AM) :

If she had blond hair, she'd look like an Olsen twin. Love, love, love the jacket. And I don't care if the bag is considered ubiquitous or passé.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:04 AM) :

Normally I'm one to roll my eyes at all the played out designer items that women can pile on but those YSL heels do not die . They're just too good.

Agreed the look is widely circulated but I know who this girl is and she's one who started it out anyway.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:06 AM) :

It looks like YSL wanted to make higher heels than Christian Louboutin ;)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:14 AM) :

not a big fan of this look. the first thing i want her to do is put out the cigarette. the shoes with those skinny jeans just looks out of proportion. then on top you have this puffy big collar jacket, i don't think it works. and the bag has too many ginormous studs all over it, distracts from her tiny frame. beautiful woman but would look much better in something else.

Blogger Landis said ... (10:30 AM) :

well that's just GREAT. now i have to go change MY purple platform suede shoes.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:55 AM) :

Great shoes, nice jacket, fun hair, but... down with the cigarrette!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:14 AM) :

I would pay to see her walk in those shoes.

Blogger Brian and Beth Jones said ... (12:04 PM) :

Love the drama of this look.. those heels are AMAZING and the coat, wow!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:16 PM) :

I don't mean this as a criticism, but, who can wear shoes like that? Where do they go? What do they do? I suffer in my 3 inch stacked heels...

To the point, she looks amazing.

Blogger kimayo said ... (1:17 PM) :

FUCK. yes! That's exactly what I'd holler out if I saw her in person.

Blogger The Spicers said ... (1:18 PM) :

I'd be sure to turn an ankle in those YSLs, but I admire her for braving the streets of NYC in them! Or maybe she's just waiting for her car?
She's super-chic, with the low-key makeup and dusky purple fur combined with the grape-colored shoes.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:20 PM) :

Hmm - she looks great but it's not individual ... she has just completed copied the Olsens - piece by piece ... even the cigarette! She does look good though.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:42 PM) :

I find this look is an example of 'so wrong, it's right.' A fur chubby, a gaudy bag and sky-high hooker shoes done in cheap materials or worn with less insouciance would undoubtedly be an eyesore. But here it looks cool and chic - quality and attitude make the fashionista.

Now, this is an ultra-trendy look that will probably look silly this time next year when the cri has a new dernier, but for the momemt this lady is rocking with the big girls.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:57 PM) :

That's Jen Brill, Terry Richardson's girlfriend.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:33 PM) :

No one has mentioned that she looks like a lady just, err, coming off the, uhh, "night shift?"

Really?

There's a mention of high end accessories in this outfit but it's one that can be replicated most anywhere...although I'm not sure why.

Wow, I'm mean. Must say that the purple is nice-like, though.

mltt

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:00 PM) :

This screams good aesthetics.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:07 PM) :

The color of that coat really flatters her face, it brights out her lips and cheek color so nicely.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:41 PM) :

The shoes: no no no! The proportions look very silly on her frame.

The whole look screams "fashion victim" to me. I'm not one for the runways--sure I love them, but on the runway. I don't like a copycat look in real life, down to the last detail.

These shoes also look painful. No one can lie and tell me they're not.

Maybe they're contributing to the way she is hunching...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:45 PM) :

Isn't this Terry Richardson's girl friend Jen Brill?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:59 PM) :

FIERCE. And I don't care what anyone says, that bag and those shoes are perfect, perfect on girls like this. Love her fur too. You can't just buy things because they are obscure, and if you have the money I doubt you care who else has it.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:04 PM) :

thats jen brill. Terry Richardsons lady, so shes gonna have some cash to splash, she's a new NY "it" girl, and she looks great!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:12 PM) :

Why, oh why, do women in London not wear heels during the day? Take a lesson from New Yorkers...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:21 PM) :

Is it true that you can actually walk all day in 40 gajillion dollar shoes?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:21 PM) :

I'd love to see a photo of her and Terry Richardson together. I'm laughing, thinking of him in jeans and plaid flannel. On the other hand I had been asking myself, is she fashionable (copying the Olsen twins) or stylish (expressing a personal outlook)?

Blogger Shasta said ... (8:50 PM) :

I think she looks great, if you have the attitude to Work the look or any look for that matter, I say go for it.

I am biased, I love Balenciaga and those skinnies.

Blogger Emma said ... (10:27 PM) :

well the shoes have a crazy platform on them so they're probably not as uncomfortable as they look.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:36 PM) :

Yes, to walk in high hills like this purple beauties is a sport mastered by the ones that persevere in the practice of walking in them (on a regular base) like moi. If you stop and indulge in flip flops and flats you will be punished by the lovely creatures and out of revenge they will hurt. The best is to walk with them all the time, this particular purple model is an ideal trainer shoe because of its good quality nature and the big platform.

Advice:
To buy cheap shoes is dangerous you can even loose toe nails! and have back problems..., expensive shoes are engineered in a way that makes it easy to walk long distances with them. I have run for my life in YSL, Manolos and Prada and they saved me.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:38 PM) :

She is TOTAL, sexy, cool, simple and some decadency, the perfect cocktail.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:53 AM) :

that's jen brill... i love her style

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:43 AM) :

I agree with Emma. shoes that high with a platform isn't that hard to walk in. I have a pair like that and I do just fine.

Blogger Ellie Lee said ... (9:31 AM) :

love love her jacket!! it's gorgeous! and although the heels are pretty, it looks kinda weird here. though.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:54 AM) :

i think she looks great. awesome to see cool girls uptown with the downtown look.
wish there were more of us...sart- keep up the good work- would love to see more of these looks shot around 10021.
rock on homegirl.
xx

Blogger Kimberly said ... (4:59 PM) :

that's Jen Brill (Terry Richardson's lady love) looking fabulous!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:47 PM) :

Sure, the more you walk in heels, the more you get used to them--but why bother? Men don't have to do that to their feets or backs, so why should women?

If you want to look taller and thinner, lose some weight, streamline your clothes, and wear a reasonable, under 2 inch heel.

About more expensive heels: YSL heels are out of almost the entire world population's price range, so I don't think of that as a particularly useful solution to the pain of heels.

Flats shouldn't be an indulgence.

I'm tired of the pictures of so many heels, because it creates the perception, like fashion mags and TV, that thats what women *should* wear because that's what they *look best* in.

Fight it! I'm not saying throw on bulky running shoes, but cute flats or small heels can be just as chic as these purple monsters.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:24 PM) :

she did create this look. the jewel purple is lovely.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:38 AM) :

Love the look! she's got the right attitude for the look. ive been looking for great fur jacket like this one. anyone know what's the brand of her gorgeous fur jacket?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:18 PM) :

Maybe I'm just partial to softer looks, but this screams "expensive escort" to me. And not in a good way. I don't find her look edgy; instead it seems to tap into the rather tired vein of fashion that likes to troll through cultural seediness and add luxe fabrics in order to make it "fierce."

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:44 PM) :

the shoes are the first thing i noticed . just like my electric ble platforms ( it's either purple or blue !!) oh lovely !

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:35 AM) :

well said sofie. i love heels, but hate being held back. does overt sexiness (in which i too have been known to indulge) have to be the only attractive form of power for women?

the powerful and chic businesswoman's uniform is a tailored suit and heels. she looks powerful, which is sexy, and vice-versa. which came first, though? it seems the power that exudes from her clothes is in the sex appeal. the alternative power symbols, such as shoulder pads, are less socially appealing. clearly, there's a world of options in between, but you get my point.

heels are a prime contradiction to "form follows function." they're not actually powerful, they're hindering. they might make us taller, but even the most seasoned stomeper can easily be unsteadied. while people aren't typically thinking "look at those heels. i could easily knock her flat on her ass" it's a subliminal signal of delicacy and weakness, which is safer and less intimidating, wherein lies the appeal.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:15 AM) :

I find this girls so perfect! She's slim [ beautiful body not like the other skinny girls!], beautiful trousers, beautiful shoes and wonderful bag! She's so stylish I think!

Don't you think?

(:

"To buy cheap shoes is dangerous you can even loose toe nails! and have back problems..., expensive shoes are engineered in a way that makes it easy to walk long distances with them. I have run for my life in YSL, Manolos and Prada and they saved me."

High-quality leather doesn't change the physics of a high-heel. I like to feel like I could hop a fence, dance all night, and otherwise get into trouble, and that would never happpen for me in heels like that!

Blogger Unknown said ... (11:17 AM) :

this look is giving me everything! Would be better for night though, no? Or maybe she's on her way home from a long night ;)

Blogger Glampot said ... (12:59 AM) :

The shoes are to die for. <3

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:16 PM) :

She's too tiny to wear those shoes.
Huge feet.

Oh and her boyfriend rips off Guy Bourdin every chance he gets.

Blogger Silvio Plaza said ... (6:05 PM) :

those shoes are just perfection!
and of course the coat is magnificent as well... fur is also one of the best things in fashion!! i dont care about peta people.. ridiculous people!!

Blogger Augusto said ... (8:22 AM) :

love her!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:56 PM) :

oh my god! shoes!!
I love it!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:45 PM) :

OMG first of all, how does she look like an escort? She's covered from neck to ankle...i don't think hookers are that covered up...second, whats up with all the hating on the heels? if YOU can't walk in super high heels thats OK but if SHE can thats cool too...I personally would die if i didnt have my 5 inch heels AND my flats, and could it be so simple as she just liked the shoe? and lastly, it annoys me to no end when people say that someone is copying an celebrity...why is that she's copying them? She could have been rocking this look for years, the only difference is that they have a paparazzi problem, and if you going to any fashion capital: NY, Paris, Milan, Tokyo you'll see that their style really isnt that unique and that tons of girls dress in the same style that they do

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:52 PM) :

So Olsen lOVES IT!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:29 AM) :
