Only a decent looking blonde could get away with this. It looks so good on her. If someone else tried it, it would just look gothic-clown silly.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:09 AM) :

Such a charming expression, and eye-catching use of color!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:13 AM) :

Wow, I'm in love with her entire outfit, especially her pink gloves! What is she wearing? A poncho? It looks so special.

-Jenny

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:35 AM) :

Triple no. The girl is pretty-but why the white skirt/dress and the colorful mittens?

Blogger wear palettes said ... (9:36 AM) :

strange combination pink and orange.

Blogger The Sartorialist said ... (9:39 AM) :

Morty

Why not?

To me, it makes the outfit

for Wear Palettes
I love pink and orange
Mizrahi's first breakthrough collection was based on that color scheme

Blogger so said ... (9:44 AM) :

love everything, except the white skirt. (and i think it's the fabric, if it were a more substantial winter-like fabric, it would appeal to me more.)

i really want that bag!

Blogger Lindsay said ... (9:48 AM) :

Those gloves are SO cool! I must know where they are from! Lets hope they can keep me warm in Minnesota winters...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:54 AM) :

Love this especially the gloves - really nice splash of colour. I do agree with simplyolive though about the skirt - a more substantial winter fabric would have been much better.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:07 AM) :

I like the poncho-jacket thing a lot. I'm not sure it would work on a petite person like me, however. That bag is enormous. Are those really practical to carry around?

And pink and orange has long been a favourite combo of mine, for both clothes and roses!

Blogger Carolina Lange said ... (10:18 AM) :

Charming, creative and beautiful!
Love it!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:20 AM) :

Without the gloves the outfit wouldn't be nearly as interesting, they add so much life.

Wonderful shots.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:32 AM) :

Anyone know where that bag's from?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:33 AM) :

To lovely lindsay: The gloves are from swedish label Acne Jeans, I think

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:51 AM) :

Like that she's standing on a manhole.

Blogger RECIEN LLEGADA said ... (10:51 AM) :

nice touch of colour¡

Blogger whyioughtta said ... (10:55 AM) :

Sorry, not sold on the gloves. It's a little "Marcel Marceau" for me.

But that bag is great!

Blogger ricpic said ... (11:23 AM) :

The shocking pink gloves? Pure genius.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:29 AM) :

Nice to see a fellow natural blonde.

You can just tell.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:44 AM) :

She looks SO Swedish, even without the Acne gloves.

Blogger Shasta said ... (11:54 AM) :

Okay, people... I think that she obviously has personality and good looks and the confidence to wear whatever she wants. She looks lovely and she looks like she feels beautiful as well.

Blogger shabnom said ... (12:08 PM) :

I totally didn't notice the orange thumb on the gloves until I looked at the photos full-sized. Very cool but if she was wearing something other than white or black they would look very scary.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:25 PM) :

The bag is by Anna Corinna, and it is popular, so easy to find. Do a google search for it -- LOTS of online stores carry them. Shopbop, Revolve . . . You might even find one on Bluefly! As purses go, they're affordable!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:28 PM) :

In reply to: "Only a decent looking blonde could get away with this. "

As a decent-looking brunette, I resent that remark!

Blogger tintin said ... (12:36 PM) :

She's adorable. For some reason I get a Scandanavian, Marimeko, Danish Teak furniture thought going through my head when I look at her.

She'll make a Doctor in CT very happy.

How do you get such beautiful depth of field with a digital?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:44 PM) :

anna corinna bag

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:45 PM) :

The bag is by designer Anna Corinna, you can find her bags on shopbop.com

Blogger The Spicers said ... (1:06 PM) :

The gloves really make the outfit! Are they neoprene?

Blogger MARIA H said ... (1:24 PM) :

To wear palettes,
Some comments: I'd never say never to color palettes. Think Prada, the color provocateur per excellence.
Jill Sander (avant-garde use of color) has been doing this combo (orange and pink) for while now. SS08: the salmon with magenta...Genious!

Palettes are not only about color but the proportion of the color, Missoni masters color proportion as key element.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:41 PM) :

The gloves is from Acne Jeans, the Swedish brand.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:56 PM) :

the gloves make this outfit so amusing.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:20 PM) :

The bag is by Anna Corrina you can get it at Calypso amongst other places. Its actually around the corner from where she's standing...

Blogger Topham Beauclerk said ... (2:27 PM) :

I agree with simplyolive about the weight of the skirt. Even so, tres cute!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:36 PM) :

The bag is from Anna Corinna. Its called the City Tote. I think this one is the L style. They also have an XL size that is fabulous.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:29 PM) :

I wish men could get away with things like this; one REALLY loud, crazy accent piece.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:30 PM) :

I work on this block. Always look out for you and the camera. What time/day was this!? Not Fair:)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:43 PM) :

love love the bag

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:09 PM) :

Love it all! I am now searching for those gloves! Love the poncho/jacket, and I love the filminess of the skirt-nice contrast. It works.

This outfit is a great mix of sophisticated and fun, modern and quirky. So good!

And yes, maybe this looks best on her b/c she's her, but isn't that true of everyone on this blog? They've all got personal style. If they look good, we can imitate or emulate but we can't ever replicate, and unless we're they're identical twin, we shouldn't bother.

Thanks Sart! This shot inspires me in my daily winter wear around Boston.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:28 PM) :

Sweet. I agree with an earlier comment on the skirt - I kinda like the contrast of it against the heaviness of her wintery black bag/tights/shoes and poncho. And the gloves, well, they're just adorable.

Happy holidays, Sart! And congrats on your gallery show! I wish I could see it!

Blogger PL said ... (8:57 PM) :

I wish I was dating this girl. the white skirt should be black though: make dem gloves pop, girl!

Blogger Unknown said ... (9:13 PM) :

love it - but i can't help to think that those gloves look uncomfortably small; then i'm brought to think about the absurdity inherent in fashion, and then i brought full circle into the thought of - who gives a care anyway? isn't that that fashion is all about?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:20 AM) :

I am almost always positive with my blog comments but I just feel that nothing works here. the colors clash and worse, I feel the clothes and especially the shoes are nice but just wrong for this person. I think the bag is also just a bit too much.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:07 AM) :

simply great, nice touch of color with the gloves

Blogger MELI. said ... (3:08 AM) :

those look like my frye liv boots. 4.5ish heel baby...

Blogger SocalStyle said ... (3:25 AM) :

Love the gloves.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:57 AM) :

the gloves are neoprene so they look very skin tight, but stretch so are probably comfy. I think the idea's she's got going on here are fantastic!

-Would have been over-the-moon if there was some play with texture and fit. Big bag, baggy poncho/hoodie, baggy sleeves, baggy skirt. . . its too much for me. Maybe a large-knit dark purple miniskirt/long sweater-dress instead of baggy sweat shirt and skirt. or brave it with bare arms to accentuate the coat? Really, very cute though, great job!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:50 AM) :

This is one of those "I'd never wear that" outfits, but I love it. It's adorable. If it were me though thinking for myself though I'd think: skirt too thin, jacket not sufficiently warm, gloves too short, need a hat, (great bag :)). But then I'm old.

Blogger Daphné said ... (12:17 PM) :

I love the pink/orange combination! And her bag is stunning!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:18 PM) :

Love the Alexander Wang cape, hate the Anna Corinna bag. Seriously, every third girl in Manhattan carries one of these bags...there is nothing interesting about it.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:19 PM) :

her surname is zoppas and she is half italian half dutch.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:26 PM) :

I need to know from where she bought the poncho. I love it so much!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:37 PM) :

how is 400 dollars an affordable purse?!?!?

i like best the photos of people who have style without laying down that kind of cash.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:58 PM) :

I love this look so much. It's actually gotta be in my top 5 of Sart shots.
Very curious to know if she achieves this most days. But I think that would be almost impossible cuz it's so uniquely fantastic...each piece, plus the dynamic combination.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:35 PM) :

LOVE!!

one of my favorite collections ever is fall '04 burberry prorsum, where several of the outfits were set off with bright blue, lime green, or purple gloves. beautiful.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:27 PM) :

The pink gloves made her entire image even more sexy. Yes,I agree with pl- with a confident and kind smile, I want to date her as well.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:53 AM) :

Eeerr, no. Nice girl, shoes, bad, bag - you see these everywhere! It's trying too hard to do a "fashion" look without an innate sense of style...the gloves, "haha", next? Too loosey, no structure. This could maybe work on a better groomed girl, better posture, some make-up...nothing stands against the looseness of the clothes - baggy baggy baggy=boring.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:03 PM) :

I love everything but especially the Anna Corinna´s bag...I´ve got the same in grey and taupe..!!! :)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:55 PM) :

If I was 30 years younger I'd wear this in a NY minute. She's adorable!

Blogger FreshSamantha said ... (6:21 PM) :

Not only she is she pretty and stylish, she looks genuinely nice too. I think it's the colorful gloves that make her seem more approachable.
I have this bag and I love it. Never use the short handles like she's doing though, because I usually have so much stuff in it that it would hurt that way. Maybe she's just doing it for the picture ?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:40 PM) :

i want her gloves!! ;)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:42 PM) :

to 'iheartfashion'- the gloves are indeed neoprene, they are a bit tight but warm!

and to 'anonymous' who said "her surname is zoppas and she is half italian half dutch."- not sure if you are talking about me? i am none of those..

(it is me in those two photos)

it was interesting to read all the comments, some are very nice so thank you!

-noelani

Blogger Carol Diehl said ... (7:44 PM) :

Wow! This is the cutest ever! I don't understand how ANYONE could quarrel with her look and her choices--it seems that the commenters are disturbed that she isn't more conventional. Or they're jealous. She's beautiful, natural, stylish but not contrived. Playful, even, yet elegant. She's warm, she's not smoking a cigarette, what more can they ask?

Blogger pearlaceous said ... (12:13 AM) :

Love the splash of color! Fucsia and orange great combination! I like the white skirt because it breaks the blackness, but is still neutral so it doesn't take away the attention from the gloves.. I like her boots too.

Blogger Ridonkulus said ... (6:26 PM) :

neoprene gloves? what's wrong with orange and pink? it's one hit of color. orange and pink tights would be another story...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:08 AM) :

love the surprise burst of colors in her gloves!nice.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:51 AM) :

Merry Christmas, all!

Especially you, Santa Sart, and the lovely Mrs. Sart and your darling little elves!

Noelani, I hope you come back to read more comments because I've a question: are the sleeves part of the cape or separate sweater peaking through? Wouldn't it be cool if they were detachables? It's all fleece?

So cosy and sweet.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:40 AM) :

This is why I am sorry I moved away from NYC. Very pretty girl, nice outfit even if I am not into the bright pink gloves.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:13 PM) :

I love this, I think the bright gloves make the whole outfit, popping out of a monochrome palette of black and white. It's the small details like these that make you stop and look twice... I don't mind the flimsy skirt either, it's a nice contrast from the thick/heavy coat.

Thanks for these lovely shots!

Blogger Daria said ... (3:53 PM) :

looks great! i disagree with those that don't love the skirt.. i think a black skirt would have made the gloves match too much... she doesn't want to look like a mime ya know?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:26 PM) :

oui! c'est superb! elle est joile!

Blogger deryik said ... (5:40 PM) :

i love how she has no make-up on... and those gloves actually color up her face. and such simple hair style, too. she pays full respect to those gloves :)

i think if the skirt was black, that would be too "done". maybe dark grey would have worked better...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:37 PM) :

Love the unusual gloves and the way the white skirt breaks up the heavy black; I adore her fresh face. I can't believe there are people who would find fault with this! Chiding her for not wearing more make-up? People's expectations of women on here are so nuts.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:52 AM) :

Nice gloves and perfect bagsize!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:06 AM) :

Love the gloves and her hair! I don't think her outfit would have looked half as good were it not for her beautiful platinum blonde hair and those brightly colored gloves. It really makes everything pop.

Blogger Mischo Beauty said ... (1:29 PM) :

It's all about the PINK gloves!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:35 PM) :

Lovely. Great bag! The pink is a nice touch, but the gloves seem a bit small and short. The white skirt seems a bit lightweight for the rest of the ensemble but I guess the tights are keeping her warm enough. Her overall look: charming!

Blogger A. said ... (11:17 PM) :

i love the pop of colour from her gloves.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:16 PM) :

Her outfit is so effortlessly chic. The poncho has to be my favorite piece of the outfit. The cloth looks comfortable. The touch of color with her gloves is what makes her especially stand out.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:18 PM) :

B-O-R-I-N-G!!!!!!!!!

Adored by me.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:01 PM) :

I reckon That outfit looks great on her and the pink mittins!!how cute.... it sets the outfit.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:56 AM) :

The gloves are amazing!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:10 AM) :

she looks amazing.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:04 PM) :

To desertwind, I am not Noelani, but the sleeves are not part of the cape...it is Alexander Wang and was styled with leather gloves for his fall collection...it is a cape with arm slits.

Blogger Style Decoded said ... (12:56 AM) :

Her gloves are soo cool...
