Comments on "On the Street....Melanie Huynh, A Sartorialist All-Star"
Although this is just a hunch, I suspect Melanie Huynh breaks hundreds of hearts everyday!
WONDERFUL!
She is always looking so stylish, thanks for capturing it again.
She knows how to wear plaid! She looks great!
I love the combination of the prep school blazer with the plaid shirt. I do like how people are pulling of those plaid shirts these days...however it is not something for me.
Flannel plaid is great, comfortable, and wonderfully anti-fashion fashion.
great shot Sart
Very Nice! It has that preppy, school girl vibe.
So is it acceptable to mix black and navy?
I love her style, and I love the background with place Vendôme- it's such a lovely place in Paris!
She would look good wearing anything at all....
That she has good taste is not debateable in any case!
Great look at Place Vendome. I wish I had been there at that moment!
Yes, she's a beautiful woman in the fashion industry who has the money to buy lovely pieces. But I'm not sure she has any "touch." Regardless of what she wears, she has the body to pull it off. I say she looks like every other fashion editor out there. Lovely and chic, but nothing special.
i would love to know where that blazer is from!
Wow, she is amazing! (Although I don't recall seeing her in the blog before. Clearly I am not paying enough attention.)
You are completely right about "the touch" - I am always in awe of how some people can just convey style in the pushing up of a sleeve and a little wristwatch. And I think the blazer and plaid shirt together have a kind of Britishness about them - the look is certainly hot here right now.
Wow, I love thid looks, and amazing blazer, anyone know where it is from, most probably out of my price range anyways!
she is my all star
i love how she folds up the sleeves of her blazer and shirt. I've been doing that recently, and it gives a nice casual touch to such a timeless piece.
that hair!
Doesn't hurt having the look on top of that touch.
wow she looks really great, the plaid fits perfect on her!
her blazer is gorgeous!!
I believe that this is the same blazer she is wearing: http://www.ralphlauren.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2817534&cp=1760782.1760900&ab=viewall&SMR=1&parentPage=family
she has amazing legs, and maybe they are her "signature", but i'd like to see her wear a not-so-leggy outfit for once...
am I the only one bothered by black and navy together?
I feel like an old lady stuck in a 24-year-old's body, but something about that doesn't look right.
The proportions are great, and ditto for the fit.
I want to BE her.
that ralph lauren blazer is gorgeous
Gee I wish you took my picture at the Place Vendôme! I don't look so great in plaid. However.

In the name of all things good and holy: why the scrunching of the sleeves! Does she deliberately want to ruin her blazer, or is it just unintentional? I need to go lay down now....
this whole outfit was in teen vogue last monthhh
Yeah, I'm kind of on the fence about her in terms of style. She always looks beautiful and I like her look, for sure. But really the look is pretty consistently the same. Sure it's a plaid shirt but the silhouette is identical to every other one that I've seen on her. There's something to be said for knowing what plays up your best feature though (I do it myself; e.g. short skirts and tights for long legs, etc.) Still for interest and creativity and plain old gumption...she's not there, from what I've seen.
lovely! even better is the historic background/setting. i've read about that column many times. :D
Once a again-a pretty girl with nice enough legs to wear a miniskirt. The shoes are very much ok and the jacket is different.
Blazer is...RALPH LAUREN!!!
Didn't you see it in French Vogue's september issue?
Ah, a perfect masculine/feminine balance *applause*

i really like the look. and agree with you she HAS that touch. she doesnt look like all those fashion editors (i quote). its not all about money. travel to nepal and you will see the elegance and beauty and stlylishness of those beautiful, delicate, nepalese mountain girls. how they wear their simple white cotton dresses, how they mix colours and how they wear their hair. and the use of flowers as compliments. its not about money, its about inner elegance.
great work sart.
Does anyone know who makes the shirt?
leeeegggs for days!!
Tout l'esprit de Vogue dans cette allure parisienne
wow...I've been doing the blazer+short skirt+tights= preppy schoolgirl look all winter (southern hemisphere).I feel stylish now. Your styles won't reach us till at least next July, so I feel reassured that there is hope for something other than skinny jins tucked into boots! great legs by the way, any tips on how to get legs looking like that?
i love it...it's fashion forward and wearable...i'm inspired!
I'd looooveee to see more shots of Melanie! I bet she looks great all the time! is she Vietnamese by any chance, with the last name?
seriously...she is so incredibly hot. and oh so fashionable.
i love the blazer..
Perfect! A cascade of lengths..
Long black hair below her shoulders, then the shirt below her navel and the jacket just below that and the skirt below that then long black clad leggings..yum!
Melanie is so great!Love her style!!
I also love your blog!I think I' m addicted!!!!!!!
