Perfect. Adorable. And that smile....
Scott, I swear to God, I'd marry her in the mornin'....
I'm in love.
oh! So simple, so chic...
Can I please be with her now?
She looks oh so happy and humourous and pretty too...
PS Striped top is perfect...
Casual perfection.
Oh, I love it. Love her smile and her effortless, unique look.
She's perfect!
Oooh look at the pleats in her pants. Those are genius and I want some like them (only not in khaki zzzz)
Meeeeerci! luv it.
aklily, this is anything but simple and casual doesn't do it justice.
Check the pants, the shirt layering, the scarf, the...
I mean, if she didn't study this then she's got some natural gift of glamour.
Dang,

She blogged about her scarf on Oct 15: "Ou un foulard 2007 doublé d’un petit châle 2002 fait qu’on l’arrête dans la rue."
Stopped in the road, for real! But I don't know if it was simply the scarf/shawl remix.
Or was it, Sart?

Wish I knew who made the pants with the pleats down the center ... The fringy scarf is feminine and that smile is outstanding.
I'm sorry to dispute fellow commenters above, but I don't find anything at all simple or effortless about the lady's extraordinary sense of style. The combination of elements, colour, pattern, shapes, tailoring, draping, and proportion displayed here is extremely sophisticated and obviously very well accomplished. The unusual cut of the drop-pleated trousers alone would take a paragraph to adequately assess. And the two different scarves (one mesh, one an ikat print - look again) worn interlayered over sailor stripes is nothing short of brilliant.
The bag is perfect - big enough to look like 'now', but not so monstrous that it will soon look like 'yesterday.' Wouldn't we all like to see her shoes?
If, as the post title indicates, the lady is indeed an illustratrix, I would not be surprised to find that her artwork displays the same uncommon subtlety and attention to detail seen here in her dress sense.
great smile! great pants!
I'm in love with that scarf!
she's got "It"
love her look.
its the stripes with that print scarf. and the orange pop!
This is how I want to look 10 years from now! If that happens I would have made my self a true woman.
i want those pants.
Love her! Great shot, great look.
lovely with that smile & scarf!!! perfect fall attire.
She looks wonderful. I think I need to go to Paris again to learn how to wear a scarf just so.
I absolutely adore her scarf, it really matches her bright beautiful smile.
I love her blog! Here's the post with your photo: http://www.garancedore.fr/2007/10/15/oh-you-pretty-things/
very balenciaga-esque
I don't believe my eyes, this is notre Garance nationale!!!!
I love her scarf... the whole look just seems so effortlessly perfect.
For those of you who can understand French, please check her blog as this lady sure knows how to draw ;-)

she pulled of the balenciaga look ! i love the scarf ..anyone knows where i can get one online?
she looks eccentric :)
This seems to be an excellent background for everyone.Clearly the woman has spent time in dressing. One does not just pick all those pieces of clothes by accident. Colorful!
oo i like how she layers!
Work that Balenciaga look baby!
She looks lovely ;-)
I just fell in love with her and her style.
SOMEONE is ripping off balenciaga f/w07!
Thank you for another shot of a glamorous, stylish woman smiling! I just can't understand the penchant for beautiful women to look so surly as in the 'intimidation' picture below. You look gorgeous! Enjoy it!
cute look with the scarf and the happy smile, she expresses the way i feel when im walking outside in the fall!
lovely!
LOVE that Balenciaga scarf.. would kill for it ;) (not really but almost.haha..)
now this is a great scarf
One word. Balenciaga.
i wonder what shoes is she wearing¡¡
Her inspiration was Balenciaga?! I love it.
Ok...I'm neither psychic nor french but I swear I've seen this exact photo before.
The reason:
I adore everything about this look and when school was out in Texas last Monday I described this look to my sister - for whom it is perfect.
Was it on the style.com site for a while?
She is beautiful. What a fantastic smile - great shot!
Hiiiiii, Garance ! (she's perfect)
Oh wow! She is absolutely beautiful. I love the way she added the scarf (Hermes?) to an otherwise very masculine outfit. Gorgeous!!
Wow Amed, you sure are good at describing what you think of the outfit and her persona, I am impressed!
About the picture, I have never seen such trousers cut like that, inspiring!
beautiful woman....
this is absolutely wonderful.
This outfit may seem effortless but I guarantee it was thoroughly thought out. Parfait.
Effortless but stylish. That's how casual should look.
Balenciaga-esque!! love it!
Beautiful picture and look, but too balenciaga-esque to deserve all this praise for originality
She looks so comfortable with herself - adorable!
The scarf is ZARA.Beautiful.
I love her scarf! And she wears it in such a beautiful way!
thank you so much for the link, her blog is great!
That scarf has the most delicious dabs of colour, set-off by the subtlety of the rest of the canvas! More of us should be dressing like that - making our bodies works of art.
she says on her blog that her pants are from Bershka, but they are a few seasons old.
I am tied of seeing people write: "This is how I want to look when I am older" or "This is how I want to look in 10 years". It's rather a back-handed compliment. (You look good for an aging person!) So just say they look great and shut up about the rest.
So fresh and classic... Chic and beautiful smile!
Congratulations!
she looks so confident and comfortable! Beautiful!
The scarf is ZARA.
I love everything about her, the beige pants, the striped shirt, the beautiful scarf and the open, true smile...she shows that class comes from feeling good within...
wow, she clearly took the last couple issues of teen vogue to heart. (If you've read them, you'll know what i'm talking about.)
Love love love. Balenciaga in real life proper nomad in real life. i know what I'm wearing tomorrow.
Wow, I love this one. The tree lines lead you right to her lovely smile.
I LOVE this photo and I love this lady. She is perfecty unself-conscious and flowing in a self-conscious, posed world. Very nice. Thank you
This look, the fashion, her smile, is forever.
