Beautiful suit! What a wonderful cloth and pattern. The purple and grey work well together. Single-breasted suits with peak lapels are uncommon, though I think they are making a comeback. Note the high collar, working buttons on the cuff (2 left unbuttoned), 3-buttons rolled-to-2. The tie and pocket square combo are a bit too 'matchy matchy' for my tastes. Wonderful photo, Scott.
ever since liaigre combined violet leather with wenge (how's that for fussy design reference?), i've been obsessed with purple as a neutral. it's amazing.
and this . . . a great example.
It's nice to see the continuation of the theme, "Long-haired men in suits."
However nicely the suit is cut (and rightly so since it is bespoke), I do not like the five button cuffs or the pattern of the suit. If one were to expensive and trouble of obtaining a bespoke suit, a more versatile fabric would seem like a better idea.
I find the unbuttoning of the sleeve buttons to be a little tacky.
Very very nice, love the use of the working sleeve buttons and his crazy hair keeps it from being too stuffy. The purple check is great also.
I also like the colour as well, and the way the pocket square is folded.

The fabric is the winner here as well as the button hole detail at the cuff (love how the first b/hole is bigger then the rest).
& the 2.5 button stance is also very nest coupled with the peaked lapels.

The suit is indeed nice, but the look is marred by the loose tie knot, too-high (and stiff) collar, and--I must say this, the hair and dinky soul-bush.
I don't think suits absolutely require short haircuts, but they do demand well-coiffed locks.
So everything the guy is trying to do below is countered by what's happening on top.
everything about this is perfect to me, and i don't even like the elements, but the comination, the fit, and and really the true beauty of this man comes foward amazingly. Flawless personal style!

I'm all for the dandyish aspect of an oversized purple windowpane plaid on a suit nice enough to have five (count 'em five) operational cuff buttons. Now if we could only push his tie up just a speck and send him to see the fellows at "barbiere" on that side street in Milan, then this gent would really be on to something.

Cloth and cut are perfectly chosen for his expression and face. His face looks a little world-weary, while his hair long and wild. This carries amazingly into the suit, which is, at the same time, both classic and crazy
I've been following this blog for well over a year. I've never felt the need to actually leave behind a comment (perhaps selfishly, I've always been perfectly happy to take from the brilliancy of Scott's vision rather than try to contribute to it). However, recently (past six months), I feel that The Sart's followers have been attempting to change this blog into something that it is not and should not be. So many leave behind comments about what they "don't like" or "don't get" or some aspect of the subject that just absolutely ruins the whole look. Such myopia masquerading as style expertise. Really, it's such fashion fascism and it is so tiresome. I don't believe that Scott has ever claimed this site to be a collection of individuals who have achieved fashion perfection. These photos are about the moment, the mood, and yes, the clothes; the inspiration found in a flash of color here, the cut of fabric there and the joie de vivre that is revealed when the cloth not merely covers the body but reveals the soul.

I find that suit to be charming in every way. I love the pattern and colour choice of it - purple and grey I never would have thought it. The plaid pattern too is just lovely. Although his collar, at second glance is a titch too sharp and starched, it needs to be soft. I like the five buttons on his cuff. I like how he stands so casual but his suit matches up - accident? I love the touch of the pocket square. Overall - fantastic suit.
ah, he's a famous stylist from Tokyo, I saw his stying of several actresses in fashion magazines. Never seen him in suit like this before but he pulls it off quite well. the purple and grey combination feels Ralph Lauren, I thought it would be difficult for people with black hair to pull it off but it works for him!
Nice look, but I'd only leave the cuffs unbuttoned if they were stuffed with a billowy sleeve... or lace.

I think this is one of the strongest expressions of personal style done within a very conventional format (grey suit, white shirt, tie) that I think I have ever seen. Outwardly conventional, but very radical within that structure. I love this gentleman's look!
He just looks wonderful. The suit is exquisite and the colour is marvelous. His elegant yet relaxed face combined with his long hair is very striking. He looks confident , kind and elegant. What a beautiful combination.

This is a bold look, but I love the way he anchors it with a limited color range (just purple, gray and white) - he keeps it looking serious and fashion-forward at the same time.

Button them.

I like his look. I do think the collar on the shirt is too high and too hard and the knot on the tie too loose. I also like the flow of the hair. I'd also leave only one or noe of the sleeve buttons open. Two undone seems excessive. And the use of purple.
He is Tomoki Sukezane, a Japanese Stylist (not a parisian). His works are mainly published in various Japanese fashion magazines such as Men's Non-No.
I like it when men wear what is usually classified as "feminine" colours such as purples and pinks. In a way, I think it's more masculine?

The former isn't enlightening; the latter can be.
Perhaps what some posters are really objecting to is a certain never-is-heard-a-discouraging word sycophancy that sometimes rears its head in the posts. In re these comments: there's no there there.
Love the suit and the fit. Colors are phenomenal. I didn't like the hair until I clicked to see the bigger picture. It looks like planned randomness; it works with his look.

This is the definition of personal style!
It's a well-made suit with a total flare in cut and fabrication. It manages to touch all the necessary bases with fitting well and proportion, while also adding some interest with the very noticable details like color and texture.
It helps that he's a fox, too. The Chanel folder is just over the top.

This is a Tom Ford suit. Note the first buttonhole on the sleeve is a tad longer than the others -- you'll find this on Tom Ford suits and overcoats. The model is the "slim-cut" as opposed to the regular -- it's three button as opposed to two (though as you can see the lapel rolls to the second button). I have a couple of these suits and waiting for completion of the third.
