Cute, intelligent and eccentric - a sartorial trifecta!

Blogger Brian said ... (12:51 AM) :

I love her glasses- so trendy.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:02 AM) :

this girl really is just so gorgeous. they way she wore her outfit was brilliant, in the most unsuspecting way.

Blogger Celia said ... (1:16 AM) :

LOVE her. I just found a vintage pair of red heels like that today. Makes me wish I had those glasses, too.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:30 AM) :

Those shoes... please, someone, tell me where I can find them!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:35 AM) :

love her! :) she's my muse for today. :)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:47 AM) :

my goodness!
that girl is adorable

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:56 AM) :

Love this! Would never consider the jacket with that skirt. Well put together and accessorized from the hair to the shoes (great shoes!) Brava!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:22 AM) :

i was going to start listing what i love about her.... gosh, what don't i love?!

Blogger filoderba said ... (3:04 AM) :

that's nice! humor full for her young age and the show she was attending.
love the shoes and the gilet. perhaps the skirt isn't that flattering.

Blogger LaZiaZoe. said ... (3:09 AM) :

I really like her! I think she is simple but amazing at the same time :)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:12 AM) :

hmmmmm...

Blogger birdkiddie said ... (4:16 AM) :

I simply love her hair and the glasses. Perfect.

Blogger Unknown said ... (4:39 AM) :

i love the glasses and the shoes in particular but in general the whole outfit just works! very librarian-chic

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:59 AM) :

Those shoes are wonderful, and they keep this outfit young and fun, but she should be careful with how the vest flares out along with the skirt - because a total slumping shape will give anyone a bit of a dowdy silhouette.

What material is her vest by the way ?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:03 AM) :

i LOVE her glasses. Great photo.

Blogger dnqcnn said ... (6:21 AM) :

yes yes yes yes yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:25 AM) :

nice hair. original glasses. great

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:27 AM) :

Sleeveless+Full skirt = New proportions = Yes!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:08 AM) :

I absolutely love this outfit!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:00 AM) :

She is adorable I love her!

Blogger Michelle said ... (8:02 AM) :

How lovely she is! I absolutely adore her glasses!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:32 AM) :

this is incredbily perfect!
i love it.

Blogger MARIA H said ... (8:33 AM) :

Cool girl and style in deed: great attitude and choices.
This is one of those images that vindicate your vision of the power of the anonymous style.
I do think you have different audiences, and I like the mix between industry (style.com) and this your original site. People are just difficult to please when being open to interpretation. I appreciate the openness.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:41 AM) :

stunningly quirky.
loved.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:47 AM) :

So Cute!!

Blogger Pumpkin Man said ... (8:57 AM) :

As I was not present I might disagree with you. She has that Lisa Loeb vibe going on, intellectual-nerd-cute thing, but the akward stance throws me off. She could be a thinner Ugly Betty but I do like the red shoes.

Blogger Pumpkin Man said ... (8:58 AM) :

I actually like the look on the lady in back. The Margiela black dress and the sandal & socks combo looks great on her.

Blogger simplyolive said ... (9:00 AM) :

she's really pulling off the geek chic look--i'm loving the big nerd specs!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:34 AM) :

Like the shoes and the cool/nerdy glasses and hair. However, I never want to see another adult try to look "adorable" by using that pigeon-toed pose. Also, what's with the mangled stuffed animal vest?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:58 AM) :

Coolest?
Look at that gilet...horrible?
And what about the glasses?
No, no, no...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:17 AM) :

cmoooon!

That's not cool!

She looks like my grandma'!!

Boh..

At least no cigarette!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:06 AM) :

I love those red shoes. The rest of the outfit...meh. I know it is intentional, I know it is 'fashiony' and is playing with proportion, texture, and aesthetic expectations and all that. But the horizontal lines hit her in all the wrong places, the sweater vest looks like I rescued it from the bottom of my three year old's dress up box, and to top it off, the skirt is obviously difficult to press, because it is so wrinkled.
I can appreciate the effort, just not the result.

Blogger Adam Osgood said ... (11:40 AM) :

Already wearing a Prada vest, even! Super cute.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:46 AM) :

its the hair and glasses. definitely. and even though im unsure about the skirt and vest, she pulls it off superbly. ooh i think i want to be her

Blogger frau mo said ... (12:10 PM) :

ooooh,
i covet the red shoes....

Blogger PeaceSignWithChocolate said ... (12:19 PM) :

She's very cute. It's not everyone who can manage those specs! Love the shoes, the dark wall behind her. The people in the crowd are interesting, too.

Blogger Emily Tavoulareas said ... (12:41 PM) :

wow. i've never seen anyone pull off Nana Mouskouri-style glasses this well! bravo!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:44 PM) :

really cool. i love that shirt i love the hair and the glass...everything really!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:53 PM) :

wow, what does that say about the prada show?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:29 PM) :

i love when women wear kooky little glasses like these. i think it takes away from the "pretty" just enough. so smart.

and i totally dig the ruby slippers!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:48 PM) :

I like the shoes and bag...

But Woah! That is a dowdy outfit, very aging with those glasses. I just hate it, even if it is trendy. Sorry.

Blogger Pauspling said ... (1:49 PM) :

Cool woman! How do you get your "objects" to be so present in the photos?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:53 PM) :

There are the red shoes. They are cute. But that´s about all that´s cute in this picture. The girl with the white dress has made a bad mistake wearing black leggins with Donald Duck shoes. Not very fashionable nor esthetic .

Blogger le rakun said ... (2:03 PM) :

i luv this one!!! finally one person view that 'the coolest' means really the coolest. to be really comfortable in yourself. period.
no agyness, no kate, no frills. straight punch. if i could score, this shot alone would give you an a+ on my list, sartor.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:22 PM) :

one of the few women I would want to emulate.

Blogger stacy said ... (2:25 PM) :

Another great shot.

I love the glasses and the shoes.

She has such a guileless air about her.

Blogger Barbara said ... (2:30 PM) :

I really love this look, especially the glasses. I always want to get quirky glasses, but haven't found any that I like. I also have a pleated skirt like this that I haven't worn in a while. This may help me pull it out of the closet.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:31 PM) :

She was my favorite in Style.com pictures. I love everything she is wearing and the way she is wearing it. Definately the coolest young lady of the fashion week. And she is not trying too hard...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:37 PM) :

I lovelovelove red shoes...and sadly own not one single pair. To add red shoes to an outfit is like a sweet, sartorial wink.

I need to wink more.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:47 PM) :

i love her whole outfit from head to toe!

Blogger tamlee said ... (3:39 PM) :

i have to stop worrying about how and with what i will wear my red pumps. she schooled me!

Blogger Carolina Lange said ... (3:49 PM) :

Yes, she has a very cool style!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:01 PM) :

She's my new style guru

Blogger Augusto said ... (4:11 PM) :

that's soo prada !!
gorgeous!!
geek chic....

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:12 PM) :

Overall, I like the ease of her look -- I can see why you call her "cool". The shoes are gorgeous, but I'm not sure about the vest -- it looks like fun fur.
I'm also digging the woman with the black shoes and socks combo behind her.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:24 PM) :

wow! this is truly stunning! She's so young, yet she looks so mature, intelligent, very fashion conscious and aware of her self image. Great image, great outfit!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:53 PM) :

I found this site a long while ago. I love the pictures and I learn sooooo much! It is helping me find some of my own style.

But I have to admit that I am stymied by this picture. Is it me? Do I need more training? More Sartorialist?

This young lady seems out of proportion - the vest length with the length of the pleats on the skirt make her look wide in the "saddle bag" area. The sleeveless top combined with the texture on the vest seems top out of balance with the length of the skirt. The color choices seem disparate to me but that is purely personal taste.

So I guess I better study here some more to make sure!

puzzled in the "hinterlands"

Blogger Jelena said ... (5:19 PM) :

Although I don't like that vest, she has a great personal style. I also like her skirt, her shoes and her hair!!
As Sart said, a cool young lady indeed.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:24 PM) :

that's my style! cute-ladylike-librarian-chic. love her shoes, hair and glasses!

Blogger Carrie said ... (6:45 PM) :

I want her shoes!

Blogger Jack Daniel said ... (7:10 PM) :

Yes, very cool!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:50 PM) :

Lovely, but why do so many of your female subjects insist on posing pigeon-toed? A bit affectatious, if you ask me.

Blogger Unknown said ... (8:33 PM) :

The footwear in this photo is weighty, heavy, and spunky. The idea of the nerdy glasses with the red Mary Janes is a fantastic move. And the texture of her vest compliments the sheen of her skirt. This is a smart, sexy, bookish look.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:39 PM) :

I like her vest!

Blogger Flora said ... (9:52 PM) :

i love her shoes!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:56 PM) :

No.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:17 PM) :

Those shoes are AMAZING. Her whole look is lovely. She really knows how to put an outfit together.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:36 PM) :

she epitomizes prada.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:35 PM) :

Has the girl on the right had such a hurry to Prada´s that she pulled her dress the front side to the back or what? Obviously the hurry was real cause she forgot to pull her socks up and comb her hair too.

Blogger phoebe said ... (12:24 AM) :

I love it, the shoes, the glasses and THAT jacket/vest thing - amazing... and somehow perfectly comical!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:14 AM) :

a little bit quirky, yet demure.

she looks excellent & i think i'm in love with the glasses.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:30 AM) :

The shoes. The glasses. I wish I knew her.
The vest? Not so much. But still. Love it.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:09 AM) :

Personally, I find that lady in the background wearing Margiela quite enchanting.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:39 AM) :

The shoes, the shooooees! I'm in love.

Blogger recovergirl said ... (8:46 AM) :

Can anyone tell me who makes those black shoes on the woman to the right in black? I could actually walk in those shoes.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:26 AM) :

Geeky femme! Perfect!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:12 AM) :

hello?
open your eyes!
that is awful!
ok, the shoes are nice, but the rest - no way.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:13 PM) :

Her colors look so refreshing because she is standing in a sea of black, white, and grey.

Without that, she would look drab and dowdy.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:32 PM) :

Lovely.

Refreshing to see some "new" silhouettes & proportions & colors this season and she really is the coolest embodiment of that.

I'm sick to death of micro-minis and black leggings (well, black in general -- and I wear a lot of black).

-- desertwind

PS -- One can buy very stylish and comfy dance shoes of this type (and color!). Have a cobbler put rubber soles on them. Not expensive and classic design.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:38 PM) :

It's all about the shoes in this photo!

Ruby reds on a girl trying to look even more girly then pumps on porcelain and then peep toes...with socks!

Gotta love it,
mltt

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:41 PM) :

pretty lady

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:20 PM) :

I think she's too hippy for the skirt but otherwise I like her look.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:53 PM) :

I like the shoes, and I like the "nerd-chic" look of the hairstyle and glasses. However, I don't think either the skirt or vest are flattering on her.

lc

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:12 PM) :

My favorite part is the little bruise on her right leg. It says, "I'm real". Lord knows, that's the statement I pretend I'm making when leaving the house in a skirt over a bruised shin! That is the sort of thing that makes her cool, but not "too cool". A good thing.

Blogger PRGirlLondon said ... (4:40 AM) :

is that prada?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:50 AM) :

she's so great.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:01 AM) :

To be honest, she looks like a dork.

Blogger Regina said ... (6:35 AM) :

seems like a grown up miss sunshine

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:31 AM) :

So age-less her look and style. The lady in Margiela and the black socks? So obviously following the runway look.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:30 AM) :

The drop-waist pleated skirt!
Also Margiela woman's black socks

Blogger HappyLegs said ... (3:44 PM) :

this is dowdy-chic...

Blogger HappyLegs said ... (3:45 PM) :

this is dowdy-chic, n'est pas?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:45 AM) :

I like her style; she has a nonchalant air about her. Her glasses are cool and proportionate to her face. I think we have the same face shape. I wear small, rectangular glasses and I think they're too small on me.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:55 AM) :

Fashion is biting its own tail. The nerd is no longer a nerd, he/she is trendy. What about the good old "style never goes out of fashion"? The Sartorialist has become a freak show.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:37 AM) :

Give her the credit. She has an air of self-assuredness. A distinct look of her own that day, in the midst of the fashion chasers.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:18 PM) :

Will she marry me?

Oh ya, PPS: pretty pleated skirt.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:04 PM) :

Isn't this the same beauty that he photogrphed with her hair flowing and she wore knee soxs with green heels
