love the red patent. The contrast of texture is really beautiful in this outfit; the wool houndstooth, the ruffle shirt, leather strappy shoes, and of course, the bag. love it.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:52 PM) :

She is adorable! She looks petite, and her clothes are perfectly proportioned for her. Love the ruffled blouse.
Only her legs and feet look a little bare compared to the rest.

Blogger Amy Carmichael Smith said ... (1:01 PM) :

Love her hair pulled back a little to the side. Beautiful colors ... lucky Paris!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:07 PM) :

A very beautiful, artistic picture. The young woman is so chic.Everything matches: the coat, the blouse, the shoes,skirt-a fantastic model and color on her handbag. The girl is cute too.And the most important part of this all-It all looks so easy, effortless.Good!

Blogger frau mo said ... (1:20 PM) :

matching collar and hairstyle;
she looks great!

I'm rather enjoying the Henri Cartier-Bresson Marseille background setup in this and other images..

Fantastic coat! She looks so chic!

Blogger Unknown said ... (1:42 PM) :

Gorgeous photo-- I love her hair and makeup. But that's a hounds tooth coat, not checked.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:55 PM) :

I love the background and her purse! ^..^

Blogger Alice Olive said ... (2:31 PM) :

What a beautiful little lady! Such a lovely photograph too. The autumn leaves contrast beautifully with her black and white houndstooth.

Blogger Unknown said ... (2:48 PM) :

Ooh get her! This is a very elegant outfit I think...

Blogger Laguna Beach Fogey said ... (2:53 PM) :

Great photo. Love the thin light and leaves on the gound. Very autumnal. Scott, you really know how to cast a mood! I like the whole ensemble here. Great shoes. This beautiful young lady has a Spanish look going on. She's also rocking it in New Romantic ruffles. I can't believe I'm about to say this, but I really like the colour of her hand bag. It is entirely appropriate.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:13 PM) :

Coats and open-toed flats :(

Otherwise a great outfit.

Blogger Gretta said ... (3:15 PM) :

Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous!!!

And that's as articulate as I get, when terribly excited about an ensemble.

Blogger SC said ... (3:30 PM) :

This is a charming picture! The girl is in overal looking very sophisticated and at ease at the same time, and the setting is most adorable as well.

Blogger jamesylala said ... (3:37 PM) :

Why am I the only one who feels unsettled about her bag and outfit combo. All the pieces are fantastic, but for me, The bag just does not work with outfit; the play on volume is not present, it does not contrast the look enough......
I must be a total sourpuss. She is STUNNING and it looks as if Sart channeled a pure mid 50's moment.
Great shot S.
Your prissiest fan,
Jamesy

Blogger Emily said ... (3:42 PM) :

Fabulous. Every day I am inspired by your work.

Blogger Lisa said ... (4:06 PM) :

I love the bag, too. That is the kind of bag I would have like to see on the young lady with the hat.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:35 PM) :

you love taking pictures there when you are in paris... where is this???

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:36 PM) :

This is beautiful. I love her coat and purse. The colors are great here.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:45 PM) :

Fantastic! She's dressed up like a lady without being fussy.

Blogger ricpic said ... (4:49 PM) :

This is going to be very picky of me, but if her handbag was fire-engine red it would pop even better against the black and white than the burgundy bag she's carrying.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:20 PM) :

ayyye, la amo mucha. muy bien, sart!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:42 PM) :

wow, i thought you found a treasure with "running coat with heels"
but now this!!!!!!!
thank you again sart!!!!!

Blogger Brian said ... (6:04 PM) :

This is a beautiful picture. You really have a talent not only for spotting great style, but also for photography.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:23 PM) :

zara coat. looks better with original belt.

Blogger Landis said ... (6:36 PM) :

oooh. definitely getting a little josephine baker here.

i know, no bananas in sight, so why, landis, why?

perhaps it's just the paris in the air. . .

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:57 PM) :

Those strappy shoes with that coat! I am not brave enough for that, but she looks wonderful!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:09 PM) :

I love this picture with the background. It reminds me, not visually but atmospherically, of the parts of Funny Face in Paris.

Blogger Anonymous said ... (7:47 PM) :

I love houndstooth. Great coat!

Blogger David said ... (7:53 PM) :

Great blog and great photos!!! Love them all!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:07 PM) :

Oh I just love this. She looks so great, and everything works. The bag, and the coat and her hair. Great shot.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:48 PM) :

That is pretty much perfect! Gorgeous

Blogger simplyolive said ... (8:55 PM) :

great photo!
the line of the trees and the "extras" in the background....like you staged it.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:10 PM) :

I wonder if that bag is new or vintage....It looks like the latter, no?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:22 PM) :

For some reason the last two images are a bit blurry when enlarged. Anyway, she's gorgeous from head to toe.

Blogger Butch said ... (9:22 PM) :

One must be very careful when one uses the word perfect.

Everything, including the pic: perfect.

Blogger glamour girly said ... (10:12 PM) :

love it - i actually saw a jacket very similar to this at Anne Taylor Loft tonight for $159. Gorgeous.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:10 PM) :

This photo reminds me of a picture of....Lisa Fonsagrives? by Avedon.

Anyway it's very "Funny Face" after Audrey H. gave up on empathecalism!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:11 PM) :

Silly me, I didn't mean Fonssagrives by Avedon! I meant Penn! She was Mrs. Penn after all.

Oh so sorry. It's late where I am.

Blogger Snarky Revolution said ... (11:31 PM) :

i think the coat over powers her but check out the blouse she has on underneath and the shoes. now, that is a classic way to be trendy and sexy.

houndstooth...does add to anything here. great shot. i forget how beautiful the garden gets.

Blogger DeepBlueSea said ... (12:15 AM) :

Houndstooth !

I had forgotten how much I love houndstooth.

And the total look is magnifique.

The photo too, of course.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:20 AM) :

She is venus

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:06 AM) :

She looks just like what I envision a Parisian women to be... fabulously dressed with soul in her eyes

Blogger Fashion Fleur said ... (2:04 AM) :

she's lovely.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:29 AM) :

Eugene Atget and Cecil Beaton combined in one photograph! Very evocative - la rentree is a lovely time in Paris.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:07 AM) :

She looks somehow very Russian to me.

Blogger Susan B said ... (8:55 AM) :

Love how you've framed this with the autumn trees on either side! That and the red bag are nice splashes of color against the black and white. There's something so chic about a red bag!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:27 AM) :

What a fabulous photograph, as well as a great look. And I adore the vintage bag - its color and structure are great against the volume of the coat and the ruffles.

Blogger MacGuffin said ... (11:47 AM) :

Very cute and stylish.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:08 PM) :

The black checked coat is outstanding but I was rather looking at the frilly details of the blouse underneath. I think it's because I've been looking for a white blouse that looks like that myself! *smile*

Blogger Esteban said ... (3:26 PM) :

Fantastic! Parisien chic in the autumn/fall...

A faultless look!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:46 PM) :

Ooooo! Yummy! This outfit makes my toes cold though. But it is a lovely photograph.

Blogger Anastasia said ... (6:21 PM) :

wow! awesome shot...she looks fantastic!! not sure about her shoes matching but I love the background and the colours!!!

Blogger . said ... (11:20 PM) :

Love the outfit, except for the shoes. If the heels were an inch taller and without the strap in the middle it would be a 10 out of 10.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:00 AM) :

Not quite checkered, it's called pepita :)

Blogger DS said ... (10:49 AM) :

I absolutely adore her stance. She's beautiful, everything really.

Sart, keep capturing beautiful souls.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:32 PM) :

don't love the heavy coat with sandals, but if she paired the coat with boots or even just black heels or flats it would look much more together.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:34 PM) :

This is true a true autumn beauty, Paris is magical at this time of the year as you can see the backdrop of nature plays perfectly with the color and boldness of the young woman. It is just spectacular how she is positioned, her feet, the color of that purse really comes out! Chic and timeless in Paris
