I don't know how he executes this so well but he has on a white cotton shirt (visible only at the cuffs) under his black turtleneck.I also love the extreme bravado of his pocket square/

Very, very nice indeed. I love this look! Wonderful photo, Sart. I love this young gentleman's pinstriped suit, the black turtleneck, glasses, cigarette, stubble. I bet he gets lots of chicks. I hope I look this cool at his age.
If you look closely, you can see the outline of his coller beneath the turtleneck.
The collar seems to be very close to his chest, almost flat against it, underneath his neck. That is possibly how he does it.
He manages well in hiding his neck.What I don´t like is the striped jacket and the white sleeve of his undershirt popping out. A jacket of some other color and material would be, in my opinion, better.

Wow! I would never think to put a turtleneck over a button-down, but he looks very elegant. Also, the suit is amazingly well-cut.
Mayn't that be white cuffs attached to the black turtleneck? An entire shirt strikes me as being something that would create too much bulk, especially at the collar.

I think he didn`t execute it so well... one can see the shirt through his turtleneck... very not good looking to my opinion... his turtleneck is too thin or his shirt too thick. Wearing a shirt with no collar is also a better alternative.

I don't like this look, because its obvious that the shirt collar is straining under the fabric of the high neck sweater. Not so nice in my opinion. But excellent suit and pocket square folding.
He's sexy, he's sixty (ish). I like it. It's the cuffs, the cuffs get me every time. Points off for the fast and loose pocket square presentation but otherwise: bravo!
The eye has grown used to shorter jackets, but even so, the jacket here is too long.
I also find the turtleneck-suit combo a nonstarter. As for the cuffs, well, that's just bizarre.
What a wonderful look! I like the slim cut of his suit! Very elegant!!
The look is highly polished and he is a very well dressed man in my opinion. The cut of the suit is well tailored. On the other hand, I believe he might be wearing a sleeve-less turtleneck--which in by itself is a hard find. The "dickie cuff" is prevalent in women's design, but not so much or non existent in men's fashion. I think the execution of the collar underneath the turtleneck deserves fashion points, though he should've attempted a much taller collar and popped it up to perfect the look he was trying to achieve. Perhaps a dress shirt from Dolce & Gabbana?

Otherwhise, if for any reason you get hot, either you sweat or stai in a t-shirt wich for sure is inelegant and uncool, or, at least, un-sartorialist!!

i'm sorry not to agree with a couple of friends here,but the guy on the back of this image looks just like an un-elegant guy following the Dolce&Gabbana wanna be trend(that in italy is just worn by insicure) , that every italian know it's taky and uncool, especially if the jeans are not slimmer or if you where leaving around 1955-60 in the usa.
Back then,when television was beginning and poople had less chanche to confront themselves with others, could have been cool.
Now please you have no excuses
Why is no one touching on the fact that regardless of how he does or doesnt pull this look off, it must be hot as the dickens inside that outfit. Sweaty and uncomfortable = not attractive no matter "how you pull it off" its just not worth it to yourself...
Out of curiosity, what is your opinion of a turtleneck with a suit or jacket? I think it's a very stylish look, but People seem to feel strongly both for and against. (I'll keep wearing that combo regardless, but I'm interested to know what such a sartorially in-tune crowd thinks.)
I have done this for years but with a "thicker" turtleneck, with the collar "in the neck", so the collar of the shirt is visible, just as the cuffs.
Where I live it is too warm to ever allow someone to dress like that, but it is nonetheless a very well put to together outfit.
don't really like this look. the suit is nice, well tailored, but when combined with the turtleneck i am reminded of chess king or a 90's mock turtle ensemble. i suspect the outfit looks better in person. also, the layering seems a but impractical/contrived.
You have to be thin to wear all those layers... is it a possibility that the shirt sleeves are not attached to a full shirt?
Are you kidding me? I'd rather go naked than spend a day wearing a white dress shirt underneath a fitted turtleneck.
Besides, if you see the dress shirt underneath the turtleneck, you not only look bad, you've lost the lines of the sweater.
Who cares about the dude in the foreground, the bald man in the back has it goin' on. And those shiny black shoes and perfect folded-up jeans!
