I don't understand why you value fit and proportion so highly for men and show us just the opposite for women? Don't women look better in clothes that are well fit and proportioned to flatter? Too often the woman is overshadowed by her attire.

I don´t like this outfit.The glasses and the shoes go well together though,but I don´t like them either. The lady would surely look better wearing someting else.

Looks great. Ageless, sculptural, she manages to look extremely modern but still totally comfortable.
to me this is sort of perfection -
from the exquisite neckline, to the the waist cinched just enough to show her shape, while not revealing everything.
she is such a style inspiration.
The shirt is a bit too sloppy for my taste.
The top is unfortunate and unflattering unless you're over "a certain age" and are camouflaging what all women over that age want camouflaged.
Never mind the cryptic message, boys, the girls know what I'm saying.
The shoes and make-up are great though!

Gosh, you always seem to run into Mrs. Haidee. I wish I were as lucky! She's a stylist who truly isn't afraid to wear what she puts on her models... and I appreciate that.
I know it's Marni (as my sister has been a devotee for a few years now), but I just don't get the shapes.. The colours are great but..
As long as she is happy - also, being in Sydney (Aust) where people all dress very similar, it is refresshing..
Those shoes are gorgeous. I love the pairing of earthier brown shoes with urban black clothing, though it takes skill to pull it off. I think this woman is lovely.
I bought a Marni coat as much for the coat as for that most excellent belt you see in this picture. I will be using it on all my jackets, sweaters dresses and shirts this winter. It is so simple, yet it makes everything look more modern and chic.
ah, the proportions. they're actually wonderful. so. if i had to deconstruct this outfit, piece by piece, i'd say it's all quite brilliant. aside from these particular glasses with this particular outfit. they appear slightly humorous, and thank goodness for humor, but they seem to stick out, just as an exclamation point sticks out where there's no need for one.
Horrible,horrible, horrible! Just too much clunky stuff. I'm with anonymous who said you value fit in men's clothes but not women's, and that this woman is overshadowed by her attire. And really, what do giant glasses do for anyone except emphasize the fact that they can't see well?

It's the modernity and sculptural quality that is so staggeringly beautiful. It is an abstract way of presenting oneself, that I LOVE.
Love Marni and as a woman of a certain age (ie, no more childbearing) you will find out all you younger ones out there, that you often need to cover up some of the lumps and bumps that come with age. Marni does it artfully and stylishly. I wear it and i can appreciate the beauty of this look. But i want to know- does anyone know who makes the shoes she is wearing? I love the contrast of the lighter colored shoes with the rest of the outfit.

Potatosack or not, I think she carried the whole outfit superbly. A touch of quirkiness with the specs, which I think completes the outfit,
i don't like the shirt but i have to admit that even in that shirt she looks fantastic!!!
i just commented with so much confusion about the girl in black and white two posts down. but this is fab! i'm surprised so many people liked that one, and the comments seem so divided about this one. the sheer and opaque, the colors and textures and shapes! it is nice for women of all shapes to have fashionable options, as others have stated, but i don't feel that was the purpose of this blouse. it's supposed to be loose and drapy. i can't totally figure out exactly what it's doing, actually. she's a show stopper. i wish we could have more angles of this outfit.
I was going to dismiss this as sloppy, but upon more thoughtful consideration it really does work. I love the way that tunic is belted! And I covet those shoes. I feel like I learned something from this.
