gorgeous, absolutely flawless!
brava!

Blogger Carolina Lange said ... (8:31 AM) :

Love her look! she has such a great style. Her shoes are amazing!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:33 AM) :

i like it. very good. nice

Blogger .......... said ... (9:08 AM) :

I love that you're always catching this lovely woman repeating her use of blush-colored accessories (these prada shoes & the chanel bag in previous photos) in different weather conditions. Gorgeous *and* sensible. What a beast.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:23 AM) :

She always looks perfect!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:31 AM) :

I don't even care if the prada shoes are too hyped up, they are beautiful and definitely meant for this outfit!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:32 AM) :

The shoes were a bit odd with the white dress the first time...

http://bp2.blogger.com/_qjpwnPW4c1o/RvQuaN-8O8I/AAAAAAAACIw/zl6f3a9srCI/s400/DLGiovannaw.jpg

...but definitely don't fit with this dress despite the "reach" with the belt.

There's a difference between forcing your fashion and being "fierce" with it, no?

mltt

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:53 AM) :

she looks absolutely incredible. speechless

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:55 AM) :

I like how often you photograph Giovanna, because we can see how she uses different pieces in different ensembles. The pink Chanel bowler, the shirtdress, those awesome Prada shoes she's wearing here, etc. I love to see how someone with such a great sense of style puts things together!

Blogger khin said ... (9:58 AM) :

she lives in those shoes! does quite a nice job of transitioning them from summer to fall, I must say

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:00 AM) :

doesn't work for me. liked her other outfits alot better. don't like the matching color in shoes and belt. the dress is to summery for the rest of the outfit i think. Am i alone with this view?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:11 AM) :

Lovely!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:14 AM) :

she looks fantastic. she looks like she threw this together easily, because her closet is probably stocked only with items like those she is wearing: timeless, well made, chic. very nice, indeed.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:41 AM) :

Oh my. Probably one of the best looks I've ever seen. Period. The dress, the belt, the cardigan, the patterns, the colors, the rolled up sleeves, her dark skin, her mysterious, playful beauty, the way she doesn't look all 'done-up' yet somehow she looks perfect....everything about her is so intriguing I could stare at this photo for ten minutes.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:44 AM) :

there are those shoes again. seeing it more in real life now.

Blogger MARIA H said ... (10:49 AM) :

Take two on the shoes. I like this version better. The messy hair an all the conscientious choices regarding accesories are an interesting contrast. I guess that Ms. Bataglia has a car near by to protect the shoes...

Blogger Sara said ... (11:05 AM) :

That's the third or fourth time I've seen someone in those fabulous shoes. Does anyone know who makes them?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:11 AM) :

Those shoes are Prada, aren't they?

Blogger Jane Flanagan said ... (11:37 AM) :

I love emerald green breaking up the black & white. And the shoes are divine!

Blogger Unknown said ... (11:38 AM) :

These two-toned shoes are delightful. Her dress has a vintage-look. The shortish-jacket with the side buttons is a nice detail. Her structured handbag with the silver lock lends functional and stylish. I love that her hair style allows for some wispy strands to fly free ... gorgeous stockings ...

Blogger Lily said ... (11:52 AM) :

love those prada shoes!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:56 AM) :

For once I disagree with one of her choices! I like everything but the shoes in this outfit. The shoes were great with the white sheath; the pink and open toe do this ensemble no favours. Lovely dress and jacket though.

Blogger Lesya V. said ... (12:07 PM) :

beautiful look
the way her pradas correspond to the hermes bag and the belt makes a very strong european statement of fashion

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:14 PM) :

wow
i like this
the shoes
the belt
the dress

Blogger mitsue said ... (12:17 PM) :

oh i love it from toe to head!
the shoes, the stockings, the print, the belt, the sleeves, the lapel, the collar, the hair.

it looks effortlessly pretty and put together

Blogger Emily Tavoulareas said ... (12:25 PM) :

i love that italian women, regardless of age, somehow manage to be flawlessly put-together, even on a quick run to the store.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:29 PM) :

Wow,Giovanna again and looking great again. She has beautiful legs and the ability to dress superb, just the the perfect amount of chic and no less.I really like her.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:30 PM) :

I. Want. Those. Shoes.

I love it all, head to toe, and such a lovely demeanor. This is my current favorite.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:39 PM) :

perfection.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:44 PM) :

The small, subtle hint of color in her shoes and belt really make this look stand out...absolutely perfect

Blogger Decorno said ... (2:16 PM) :

Ah, those Prada shoes. I don't usually believe in buying the national ad item from any brand because the item is always just too identifiable, but those are very cool kicks, I must say. And the pop of color is really smart-looking.

Blogger Bimba said ... (2:21 PM) :

amazing shoes!!!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:36 PM) :

i like her shoes the most. ^^

Blogger L.A. Davidson said ... (2:39 PM) :

Don't like the bag, but everyhting else is rad.

Blogger Asi Mod said ... (2:43 PM) :

I love that she coordinated the color of her belt with her Prada heels. And love the black jacket and tights.

Blogger Scottish Girl said ... (2:46 PM) :

Love it, Hermes and Prada phew!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:02 PM) :

This is one of the first outfits you've featured that I want in my closet. I love this look. Bravo!

Blogger maria said ... (3:32 PM) :

Definately beautiful, love the subtle green touch... The street reminds me to Berlin's mitte

Blogger Moose on the Loose said ... (3:45 PM) :

that is such a classy look.

Blogger Laguna Beach Fogey said ... (3:49 PM) :

Ciao bella! Another wonderful photo of this abso-bloody-lutely stunning woman. Beautiful dress. I love her in black clothing, especially the tights and the short black jacket (cardigan?). We've seen these shoes before, and here they look great paired with the green belt. Well done. Looking at this beautiful, elegant, aristocratic young woman, I sense a need to start attending Mass again. Urgently.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:20 PM) :

This woman never seems to have an "off" day. Loved the shoes before, still love them now! She's inspired me to wear my own emerald-green shoes (not Prada but they're lovely too).

Blogger tanzdrauf said ... (5:13 PM) :

black and white and black
just love it

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:23 PM) :

She looks terrific!

Blogger The Glossy Editor said ... (6:03 PM) :

GORGEOUS! If you're going to wear florals...this is how it's done! Love Giovanna - she's always flawless! (Another lovely shot Sart:)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:15 PM) :

Wow, the more I look at the outfit, the more it makes sense -apart for the bag. It's the biggest per-peeve of all times for me, but I just cannot stand it when people carry their bags *open* like that! It'a Hermès -treat it with a little respect! It looks sloppy this way.

Blogger The Spicers said ... (7:13 PM) :

Giovanna is one of my all-time favorite subjects. Love the Prada shoes with the tights and an Hermes bag is always chic.

Blogger Lisa said ... (7:28 PM) :

stop it with the pics of women and their fabulous shoes already. i'm trying to get my fall boots and shoes together for a trip to the italian shoe guy, but all i can think of is buying some like these... grrr.... =)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:33 PM) :

The simple black and white combination and the punch of color work so well! I'm waiting for the weather to get a little cooler here so that I can try my own version soon. :)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:42 PM) :

Loved her! The shoes, the dress, the cardigan... But most of all, I love Milano!! It’s one of the greatest cities in the World!

Blogger MrWong said ... (8:13 PM) :

Everytme Giovanna is captured - I'm left scrambling for apt words to decribe her 'outlook'..

BRAVO!

Blogger lucy said ... (8:26 PM) :

Gotta adore the love/hate relationship everyone is having with those shoes!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:32 PM) :

Her style is infectious and she never disappoint.

Blogger Blaise said ... (3:24 AM) :

This is what I like about temperate countries.. you could pull off an opaque (in this case, black) stockings with sandals.. I love the effect of the stockings with the bronze sandals..

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:42 AM) :

I almost thought 'ok, enough of your favourite subjects who're so pretty and are/were in the business, they look good too easily'.
But then I imagined those clothes on an ordinary mortal. Still look good. Possibly a change of jacket.
And on ubiquitousness- anyone who's creative, I can learn from- and if they're repeatedly creative, I can learn repeatedly.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:23 AM) :

It's nice to see a woman going back to wearing stockings...I mean we all love leggings but stockings are way more feminine!

Blogger Disneyrollergirl.net said ... (8:29 AM) :

Effortless finesse! Loving the contrast of summery dress and dark opaque tights...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:03 AM) :

Sigh! She has a birkin too? As if the pink Chanel bag wasn't enough...
Honestly, I'd love to see her on a bad fashion day - LOL!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:17 AM) :

I love her look; yes, even down to the shoes. I think they do go with the outfit. The shoes coordinate yet aren't matchy matchy, which would be more safe, and I don't believe Giovanna does safe.

Black and white is chic in any season and I think the addition of the cardigan and the black tights "winterizes" the somewhat summery dress.

I think she looks wonderful.

Blogger marie said ... (1:02 PM) :

I actually have a skirt that has a simliar print as her dress!

Blogger Claire said ... (1:32 PM) :

So, Sartorialist, for the regular women out there, what are the rules when it comes to hosiery and open toed shoes?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:57 PM) :

does Giovanna work in fashion? What does she do? Magnificent..

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:15 PM) :

she looks ALWAYS great... what an icon! i just love her

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:20 PM) :

I love the dress. Does anyone know where it's from?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:18 PM) :

Wow. I was sick of these damned Prada shoes, and she makes them feel fresh. It is the print of the dress, the color of the belt. It is her hair and the breeze...

Blogger Pumpkin Man said ... (10:37 AM) :

Long-legged beauty! Love the balck tights with the light color dress. Gorgeous!

Blogger Unknown said ... (11:36 AM) :

wow! that green...shoe belt. flawless. sexy and smart.

Blogger ClosetCase said ... (2:11 PM) :

I liked those shoes with bare legs, but with the tights, I'm in LOVE! They create such a get leg line (although Giovanna doesn't even need it!) and they temper the color a bit...LOVE...

Blogger Jini said ... (3:17 PM) :

i would love it if you continued to post more of this woman. she obviously has great style but there is a modesty to her that's refreshing and inspiring. love the green accent of her belt and the way her pradas look with the tights.

Blogger MARIA H said ... (8:29 AM) :

"what are the rules when is comes to hosiery and open toes"....?
rules?
You assume there are authorities in the matter...only if you submit to such authority, giving up your authorship rights.
It is FASHION...not drugs.
You are allowed to express your self even when you are the only one setting the parameters.
Why so afraid of not complying to the standards?

Blogger O!Lightning said ... (10:34 PM) :

I love her! She never lets her look get stale. She keeps it fresh everytime.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:24 AM) :

Man I want those shoes. So cool.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:40 PM) :

can we talk a little more about the dress. LOVE IT. does anyone know where it came from?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:07 PM) :

I NEED those Prada shoes. This is such an amazing ensemble.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:09 PM) :

Does anyone know where to purchase these previous season fall 2007 prada heels????

Post here!
