why black is one of the most favourites colour of everyone? I really like this suit, it's black, easy fit, and smart!

Blogger Decorno said ... (7:47 PM) :

Confident and a great shape. Love that you are showing someone who is not a twig and really owns her style.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:49 PM) :

She's absolutely beautiful. Perfectly put together. I love the dress and especially the wedges.

Blogger La Cabeza Grande said ... (8:46 PM) :

Personally, I think this dress and the chunky footwear and accoutrements simply overwhelm this woman.

Blogger nicole said ... (9:14 PM) :

Yay, more "real body" girls like this one please! She looks great.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:25 PM) :

She's a modern day Mona Lisa! I love the modernity of this look and even though she's in head to toe black, it's not the only thing you notice...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:36 PM) :

Bang on with the proportions of each of her accessories...right down to the bangles.

Nice,
mltt

P.S. This a great working example for, ahem, "women of a certain size" who are always reading about how we should wear "big" things. It sounds SO counter-intuitive but again this is a PERFECT example of how it actually works. Bella!

cool jewelry. she looks both classy and exotic. strangely, though, the only thing i can really think of when i see this photo is that i hope she didn't get run over by all those cars.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:51 PM) :

She looks fabulous, but she's about to get hit by an SUV.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:25 PM) :

gorgeousssss! love her style...hair, dress, bracelet, shoes...! great!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:35 PM) :

She stops traffic...
Im a fan of wearing black, white, or black and white. On a day when Im in a hurry I can barely go wrong with that combo.

Blogger Jane Flanagan said ... (11:08 PM) :

Breezy and beautiful. Perfect for pre-Fall.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:16 PM) :

I like it, but I'm from southern california....and every girl in black looks like this. its a little over done...but thats just me.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:39 PM) :

lovely outfit. interesting also because it's been hot in nyc recently. I wouldn't even think of black at this time! she pulled it off

Blogger zuccotto said ... (1:03 AM) :

Gorgeous, relaxed, comfortable woman; I like the dress and accessories, including the shoes.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:36 AM) :

Now this is a grand lady. She has dressed in a style that fits her . Nice that you have chosen someone like her.It gives hope to us all that don´t fit the model category.I n fact her look is very stylish. There is simply nothing I´change in her looks.Well done Sart!

Blogger the *ubiquitous spectator* said ... (3:20 AM) :

love the "real" woman but the outfit, overall look, trends...so blah, as someone else said cliche. that dress envelopes her in a horrendous way, and the shoes are too chunky with the sack-yness of the frock...

Blogger TLC said ... (3:46 AM) :

Beautiful! The woman, the clothes, her shape and size... now THIS is a tribute to femininity! Sart, I read your site many times a day and I'm glad to see you aren't exclusively shooting size 0 girls. I hope this is a sign of things to come!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:02 AM) :

her outfit makes her look a lot fatter than she actually is, bc the black on black makes it hard to distinguish her waist from the cardigan's shape. her youth and slimness make her able to carry it off but anyone older or bigger would look dowdy.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:10 AM) :

Love it. Beautiful face, that looks like Nelly Furtado in a nice way.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:28 AM) :

First things I noticed a) she is not of model propotions b) she is quite covered up c) she is so damn sexy!

Blogger Susan B said ... (11:49 AM) :

She owns this look. NICE!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:37 PM) :

I love the fact that she is covered but still sexy and sophisticated. She seems confident about her shape. Also the fact that you have someone on here who is not a size 2. She's beautiful. Love it.

Blogger Tereneh Idia said ... (2:21 PM) :

Beautiful!!!! One of my favorite yet. Elegant, sexy, wonderful.

Blogger jamesylala said ... (8:51 PM) :

DELECIOUS....the look in her eye has me questioning my love of men!!!!
She owns it and is daring you to try and taunt it.
BLESS THIS GODDESS.

Blogger riz said ... (9:31 PM) :

She looks good, but it's a little heavy, with the chunky jewelry and footwear and sleeves. Something is unbalanced I think...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:56 PM) :

It is wellcoming to see a woman with really something under her dress for a change. She has picked ab outfit, that makes her justice and matches her shoes .

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:41 AM) :

I love it! I love it! I want to see this look everwhere on women of similar shape and size!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:28 AM) :

the shoulders and most of all, the cut of the sleeves (of the cardigan?) make the outfit unbalanced. i will give points for the cut of the neck. her jewellery is balanced with her shoes, that's a good thing, but perhaps she doesn't need bracelets on both hands, its a bit much for her delicate face.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:44 AM) :

For some reason, this photo/ensemble totally appeals to me. I just love the whole thing and I bet it even looks better in motion.

Blogger Jenna said ... (12:14 PM) :

I love that she's not hanging her bits and pieces out. She is perfection in a flowy black dress. I want to either be her or be her best friend. And her hair is simple and interesting. my favorite shot yet!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:44 PM) :

While I appreciate the comments about how it's good to see a variety of body shapes, I think their preponderance with regards to this particular photo point out some of the drawbacks of these flowy dresses! This woman isn't "big" at all! I'm pretty sure she's quite thin and shapely (and also pretty tall)! The thing is that, except on people who are really exceptionally slender, a dress with so little shape makes the whole body look a little bit larger, even when it isn't, and fails to highlight those parts -- like the limbs or the waist -- that often trigger our judgements about a person's "size." (Not that this should be the first point of judgement for most people, but it often is, unfortunately.)

All that said, though, she looks awesome, put together, stylish, and smooth, and she does a very good job of wearing a style that maybe isn't quite as flattering as it often seems to be! I'd wear that dress too if I thought I could look as stylish and self-possessed in it as she does!

Blogger Unknown said ... (1:52 PM) :

I love it. Casual, appropriate, and summery without being overexposed.

Blogger Anastasia said ... (6:46 PM) :

she looks fantastic!
