Comments on "On the Street.....That Hair, Stockholm"
i think stockholm is modern and more than other cities in a wide range of senses.
for how long will you stay in sthlm?
really? I think the styles are rather homogenous in both hair and dress- 80's and mostly conservative leaning 80's at that. Where are the street kids who set the trends? What is edgy in Stockholm and fashion forward? The looks here, if reflective of Stockholm fashion, reveals an insularity from world influences and outside cultures. Speaking of which, where are the people with non-assymetrical faces, imperfect cheekbones, other than icy blue eyes, and Gattaca un-worthy DNA?
What a great dress. And I also love her hair.
The shoes are totally sympatico with the rest, but I had very similar ones about 20 years ago. As someone said in a previous post, either Stolkholm never left the 80's, or they're already fully back there ahead of the rest of us.
ive always wanted to visit stockholm. great picture!
I find your comments interesting, and heartening.
On a personal note, I recently went from long streaked blonde/brown hair to a short, naturally curly bob (not unlike the hair in this pic) in my natural color of medium brown. I find myself a brunette with short, curly hair awash in long, streaked hair even on women over 50 (I am 52) I get a lot of compliements on my hair, which requires minimal care--my choice and does stand out.
So I am happy to see you notice hair and originality of hair styles, and I am happy to have you feature all different cities throughout the world, as I believe we can all learn so much from each other. Many thanks for a delightful photo and thoughtful comments. xoxoxo
She really looks great. The hair and the dress.
Nice hair, not so great shoes..
cool hair... kinda remind me of this guy on project runway first season...
but a question... those shoes? aren't they like badly 90's?
hair is a real banner of individuality. we need more of that here.
by the way, saw you were featured in code (http://www.code-mag.nl/)! what a great surprise.
Perfect!
I don´t think her dress does justice to her.It is too severe.
lalalala love your Stockholm posts. Yes, indeed.
outside of Acne, yes. The girl who works in the store is very cute and stylish!
you have to visit Nitty Gritty at Krukmakargatan!
Now there is something a miss in this pic.The dress she is wearing does not suit her at all.And the shoes are just terrible.
Thats b/c there isn't a rigid dictated style in stockholm ... Paris & Milan are pretty much dictated by vogue & tradition - N.Y is dictated by commercialism ... There is no edge in these cities like you find in Stockholm & also London - it's called free thinking!
I think the hair comment is very important.real style is the head to toe look and so many times people can buy the clothes but they forget about the hair. We all look here for style etc.but so many of the comments do talk about the great face and what is hair but often a frame for the face.
I think all of Sweden is back in the 80's. You can see high waisted skirts and pants combined with shirts everywhere, or tights, everyone seems tom be wearing tights in this country. If you go out clubbing almost half of all the girls looks like Gloria Estefan in the video to "Dr. Preassure". I don't know if I should laugh or cry.. I prefer stylish rock'n'roll guys, and that's unfortunatley a rarity in these days.
Stockholm msut be fantastic!
Beautiful photo, love her dress and her hair!
i don't know about everyday people, but this woman has the body and bone structure of an everyday model. ergo, any old hairstyle would look good on her, especially this lovely one.
To an.11.07 am.I´m living in a country next to Sweden and I believe people can dress just as they want.It is really a relief that we don´t all have to dress the same way.But---I still think the dress this woman is wearing is horrible.
Many Swedish friends cut their own hair, and go for a "serious cut" maybe 2 x a year.
And they almost all look great.
I really like Swedish style.
sara you are beautiful
