On The Street.......Stop Motion, New York City

I love how she keeps the proportions but changes the color and pattern.

carefree nyc at its best! great shots....

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:25 AM) :

she looks like she just throws something on and it looks fabolous. typical!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:35 AM) :

plain and simple :-)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:53 AM) :

First person to comment on her lack of helmet, her smoking a cigarette or not being a vegan gets a smack.

Blogger will anderson said ... (10:11 AM) :

i love her proportions too. nice legs.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:26 AM) :

if I had such a greaat figure I wouldn't change proportions of my outfit either.. her look is perfect, the hat is so very cool.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:27 AM) :

she doesn't have a helmet, she smokes, she's not a vegan (how do you know?). so smack me!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:45 AM) :

Interesting bike, too. Fixed gear, no brakes, delicate frame. As someone else has commented, plain and simple.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:06 AM) :

I'm with anonymous! She's lovely so don't take away with it or smacks abound!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:15 PM) :

The proportion works for her, but cover up the hat and it's an extraordinarily dull outfit.

Blogger Asi Mod said ... (12:31 PM) :

I agree with you. She does the proportions very well. Totally cool!

Blogger Joanna Goddard said ... (12:33 PM) :

i love her and her awesome shorts.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:36 PM) :

it's boiling outside...yet she looks absolutely fresh and breezy!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:36 PM) :

Amen anon 9:53!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:03 PM) :

great hat, bad everything else. Nice body, could do so much more. See dresses, see shorts that cost more than 10 dollars.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:29 PM) :

she is beautiful! if i wore the same clothes i'd look terribly frumpy. i love her style.

Blogger Victor Castro said ... (1:57 PM) :

Now, if we can only see (in the day time) more dress-savvy fashionistas in Miami maybe a few more clubbers would not mind the heat!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:58 PM) :

I doubt this is a fixed gear bike. Single speed more likely.

Blogger Carolina Lange said ... (2:08 PM) :

Simple with style! Love it!

Blogger Remove Before Flight said ... (2:25 PM) :

Nice touch with an elegant white hat instead of a sporty cap...

Blogger MrWong said ... (2:51 PM) :

Smack me! But no one else is allowed to but her..

I love her casual style & legggggggggs..

As a cyclist I agree helmets ain't the best looking accessory but you just never know what the other smo who maybe be smoking whilst listening to an iPod is thinking when the accident happens..

Then everyone is sad - but for now..

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:02 PM) :

Lovely indeed, so I'd ask that she move her u-locks, they could catch in the wheel, none of us want that.

Nice to see 2 shots of the same person, you get a better sense of her and how her style works.

Blogger benson said ... (3:13 PM) :

if I had legs like that I would keep it up as well...focus on the features.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:05 PM) :

Love how she pairs that hat w\ diff. types of fonts\patterns.
very cool hat !

Blogger C.K.H. said ... (4:13 PM) :

As has been said a number of times a beautiful woman can practically wear rags and look wonderful. (I don't think the same can be said for men.) She has great understated style and there is certainly something about a young lady on a bike in the city. I'd love to get her phone number.

Blogger -ONE-PUCK- said ... (4:44 PM) :

Perfect.

(Short-Short)+(long legs) + (petite ankles) = A+ for fashion 101

Blogger Krizia said ... (4:48 PM) :

yes, i think the hat makes it :) so inspiring!

she must not be vegan because it looks like she's wearing leather sandals and has a leather purse in the bottom picture.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:43 PM) :

That bike is NOT fixed gear. Its a coaster brake dude. She couldnt cruise that carefree on a fix. The 'fixie' hype has saturated yer brainzzz...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:22 PM) :

i love her bike look. how did you find her again?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:00 PM) :

Only a girl (such as her) with such beautiful and sleek legs should wear shorts like that.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:21 PM) :

How DO you run into the same people twice in NYC?! You must know them, right?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:37 PM) :

Beautiful hat. Reminds me of the protagonist in l'Amant (Duras).

Yet another proof that being tall and skinny (therefore, long, slim legs) are two of the luckiest things that can happen to you.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:43 PM) :

homegurl has AMAZING legs.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:49 PM) :

Anon. 12:36, that's really it, I think. If a body can look fresh and crisp and not the least bit wilted, it's hot weather wear done right -- and then if the proportions are perfect for the frame, and the colors perfect for the skin and hair ... well, it makes me feel better just to look at her!

Blogger Anastasia said ... (9:52 PM) :

love the hat...i
think she loves it too
as she has it on in both shots!
very fresh and fabulous!
is it not compulsary to wear a bike helmet in NY?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:26 PM) :

12:15 PM: ah, her outfit may be not-too-terribly-inspiring without the hat, but she is indeed wearing it! Unusual hats are great and everyone should wear more. I like the orange tones with her dark, evenly cropped hair, too. Her style looks laid-back and refreshing and reminds me of the beach where my dad used to live.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:35 PM) :

If I had just seen each individual clothing piece that this girl is wearing (in the top photo) in a store I would think 'eh...' but all together, on this woman, these seemingly mediocre pieces just work naturally and create a brilliant aesthetic.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:57 PM) :

she's awesome+

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:06 PM) :

The pefect illustration of American sportswear done right. Perfect for summer cruisin' in the city or at the beach or in the mountains.

And -- THAT is the perfect type of city cruisin' bike. Without messin' with gears or hand-brakes, she can balance on the stopped bike. Sitting down with her feet on the pedals ready to go when the light changes. (I learned how to do that when I lived in Amsterdam).

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:40 PM) :

And that's what's Style is all about, elle said... She's got basic clothes but that one fabulous item takes her look into the stratosphere. What's she going to wear on a bike that's more practical than a pair of shorts? A miniskirt and heels?

Correction, two fabulous items: add a great pair of legs. Point being, folks, she didn't get by catching cabs all her life. So quit envying and get out there cycling (with a helmet on)!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:18 AM) :

She must like the hat quite much cause she is wearing it again. The hat is not bad,but I think that riding a bike is not the best forum for it.

Blogger Unknown said ... (5:28 AM) :

I utterly love the grace of these shots.

Gorgeously traversing cities imparting a sense of calm...

Blogger Sanversan said ... (6:18 AM) :

Have to disagree with elle, must one don a dress - spend more on clothing to look better? Money can't buy imagination or personality. Viva le difference!

Blogger Lisa Breslin said ... (7:56 AM) :

Great hat, adds a different dimension to the outfits

Blogger simplyolive said ... (8:52 AM) :

that hat definitely turns an ordinary t-shirt and shorts into a fashion statement.
and i disagree w/ elle, you definitely do not have to spend a lot of money to look fabulous--money DOES NOT buy style!

Blogger Alice Olive said ... (9:36 AM) :

The hat and her short bob - fantastic.

Blogger Jack Daniel said ... (11:41 AM) :

wow, two different pictures...like 'm both.

I have that hat!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:30 PM) :

She looks great but with hr body, she must look good in anything

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:13 PM) :

She clearly rocks that look...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:13 AM) :

it helsp that she has legs that go on forever.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:56 AM) :

Not that much style. A bike, hat, print shorts. Great legs is what's doing it.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:13 PM) :

Hey, its bike girl! I want a similar bike to the one she has in the bottom picture.

Blogger Patagonia Community said ... (11:49 PM) :

The face says Maggie Gyllenhaal, the outfits say easy New York style, and the bike says she's a bit smarter than many.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:02 PM) :

What's interesting about this is that her clothing choices are about line and silhouette--the clothes as discreet elements aren't really important (except for the hat, but even that is an integral part of the silhouette). It's interesting to see people who do this, while with other people you photograph, it's about an amazing piece of clothing or a great hair style. She obviously knows that what makes her unique and beautiful are her proportions. She could look gangly or gawky in another kind of outfit.

I can't wait to see what she wears in winter.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:26 PM) :

She looks terrific and the proportions are just right. Please don't copy this look however (vertical lines, short shorts), unless you have a body like this. Could be scary

Blogger Ambient said ... (1:22 AM) :

I thought the first pic of her was fantastic - now this! The hat is interesting but seems to be covering eyes as nice as her legs.

Blogger dnqcnn said ... (6:06 AM) :

see you can look great without all the blingbling crap on you!
proved right here!

Blogger Bel said ... (6:04 AM) :

She is simply lovely. That first shot of her from a few months back is one of my favourites on your blog Sart.

Blogger sfgirlbybay said ... (1:55 AM) :

i need the hat - where, pray tell can i find one online or in san francisco?

oh, and she looks great. very at ease, which is the best accessory of all.

Blogger Oana Perca said ... (9:33 AM) :

Her hat is great.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:07 PM) :

nyc is my dream home
and she just encapsulates that
:)

Blogger Unknown said ... (12:22 PM) :

She looks like Dudley from The Royal Tenenbaums, no?
