Love the attitude and the tight pants. These pants are common in southern Asia. They are called Churidaar. often worn with long Kurtas or shirts.

Going for controversy, eh, Sart? Keep it up. I've always been intrigued by the fashionable, hijab-wearing girls too. Many Islamic girls -- including those in full burqas -- are mad, mad, mad for fashion....and they'll often customize clothes to suit their conservative-dress requirements. Actually, there's a lot of stories and photos in this community if you're willing to mine it. I'll be curious to read the other comments on this pic....
Hard to define... It could be a religious thing, a traditional, or just a part of uniformed costumes from some event... However, it's a great photo.

wow, there is something very, very subversive about this. they're wearing the hijab in the same spirit as the Iranian girls: everything south of the shoulders is a comment on what's covering their head.

i've always loved churidar pants. esp. when they gather at the ankles - so cute. these girls are totally pushing the limits - the practically see-through white of their pants, the almost-too-short tops, the ribbons giving the tops an empire waist and enhancing the bust... ROCK ON!!!
This style is very popular with young muslim girls in Sweden. Wearing all white with a touch of color. I agree they could have worn better shoes with the outfit.
I'm a muslim my self, i don't practice. But i love to see when young girls stand up and demand to be seen. In a religion that demand they hide them selfs.

Actually they remind me of how muslim women are dressed when they compete at the Olympic Games...
If this girls can see beyond what their religion allows, why there still people trying to question their choice by expecting complience? Of course they are making a statement about their views about their bodies and thir minds. The futuristic aspect here is a move towards a new way of being defined by them and others.
Interesting... As a Muslim woman who does not wear a headscarf, I find this awkward (yet not at all an unommon scene, for sure...): you are covering your hair (because it is provocative!) but have no problem wearing super tight pants.

i have been seeing more and more muslim women work their scarves into beautiful fashionable outfits here in chicago. it's great! everyone has their own style and it can be recognized!

Alot of young teenage muslim-girls looks like this in Stockholm, I think it's a good thing. They are sending out a good sign to other young people that different cultures can meet! They make something own of fashion but still wearing whats traditional in their culture!

those aren't churidars, I think, they look like regular skinny jeans... But I don't think there's anything inappropriate about them. They're still all covered up! Just in their own way. I like their bemused expressions. They look like sisters.
but it is super awesome to see some cute looking hijabis on here :) And there is no restriction for muslims about open toes - those sandals are pretty :)

I have seen drop dead gorgeous muslim girls in Copehangen and you wouldnt believe how fashionable and stylish they were. They wore amazing colors, beautiful prints and creative shapes, would mix fabrics and prints, and had the most amazing shoes and purses. I fell in love with their atitude, boldness and braveness- and their sense of style and color.
Very cool, and not a look I've seen here in southern England! I love to see the many variations on a theme that Muslim gals come up with.

It is so nice to see being "faithful" assosicated with such a lovely photo.
Reminds me of a group of Arab girls I saw on Oxford Street just yesterday. "Summer" in London has brought hordes of Arab visitors and while a lot of the women are fully veiled my little group of 17 year-olds were very chic in jeans and flowing blouses with Balenciaga bags and Jimmy Choos, sophisticated make-up. Their hijabs were just a very natural extension of their ensembles.
Wonderful! Not many people (outside of the Muslim world) are able to capture the spirit of young Muslims living in the West. Having our roots still tied to our religion and culture but still working with Western culture and design. I love it!

when i first saw the picture i was taken by the fact 1. they wore hijabs which is great to see that, being included in a stylsih site. 2. i keep thinking of 2 tropical birds somehow pirched on a tree looking at you with the quizzical look those girls have .. some how cant get the idea of birds out of my head everytime i look at them..

Visit London in summer when lot´s of Arabs vacation there and you will get great pictures of stylish muslim women . I personally find that the ones dressed in "long black" are far more elegant than we are. There is a dignity to that way of dressing that we definitely lack. "Long black" (I don´t know the correct name of the dress) combined with for example platform Loboutins = Unbeatable !

About the flags in the background: NO they are NOT from some kind of sports event or anything like that. Its a gas station called OK/Q8 and the flags are red and blue, not pink.

A wonderful photo, and how inspiring to read the many comments--from Muslims and non-Muslims alike--celebrating the creativity and beauty not just of these girls, but different cultures coexisting in an atmosphere of tolerance and mutual respect.
How sad it makes me, therefore, that in many if not most Islamic countries these girls could by law be punished for wearing clothes that so clearly show the shapes of their bodies.

Here in the south of France, I've seen a lot of veiled girls in stylish and creative get-ups... wish you were here to photograph them!
This is inspiring beyond belief. I'm not going to be PC because it would be lying to say that the usual black hijab is in fact NOT drab. But these girls; these clearly individual members of a unified and often uniformed religion/culture, disperse my previous limited view when in the shops and on seeing Muslim women of "why they even bother to go shopping in those stores, and if they buy anything who is going to see it." COMPLETLY DEIFIC!
I like it. I see a lot of different styles of it from around the world- all you need to do is step inside a Mosque on a busy Friday here in the States.:)
Even after having seen a ton of different looks from around the world, I like this shot because I haven't seen someone pull off so much white! I like it- my only complaint being the skinny jeans.
From a religious perspective, the way I see it, if you're going to wear the scarf, you have to consistently make sure that the modesty fits the full figure and just not parts.
Still, I like it.
