Comments on "On the Street.......That Girl!, Paris"
Oh dear, is she ALWAYS lit up, then?
Like this "borrowing Beyonce's wind machine" thing you've captured.
Please, no comments about the feet...it just all flows together the way she is. Leave 'er 'lone.
mltt
BTW, is the bolero+dress a matching set?
mltt
What a fabulous shot! She's beautiful, the hair is stunning.
Perfection! With 'colt like' legs like those...why not!
It's very Prada F/07.
Great shot – I love the colors of the picture. Nice dress and shoes, too. But I don't like the combination of long hair and glasses.
I love this look and the photography is simply stunning. Windswept!
Ohhh she so cuuuuuteeee. I love the prada feeling without being prada tagged all over her outfit. great shoes. the glasses makes her look intellectual and that red hair!!!
great shot!
She's certainly popular! She's appeared on Face Hunter and Dans Paris, lucky girl.
Very pretty, the baggy Prada-style knee socks.
oh yes, the shoes, goes very well with red hair. & Nice to see her again.
I love everything except the fag. This look would also work for my body type, i.e. small and curvy. Thanks for the inspiration!
She's doing the iPod-Lite dance.
She looks 'light', as in feathers. I think the hair enhances that...
Love the hair, the glasses!!
Fabulous! I'm so glad she isn't wearing too much accessories. Keepin' it simple and so on.
And yes, I think the bolero+dress do match. Not sure if the bolero is a bit too bulky, but nah, who cares! The whole image is pure love.
skinny legs in knee socks, nothing better...yum
Nice dress, but what about socks?Simply dreadful
Ummm..Wow! How does she do it? I love the knee highs, very Pippy Longstocking! Fantastic.
Dear Sartorialist,
I must admit that this site is extremely addictive. EXTREMELY!
And you have single handedly expanded my understanding of menswear. Thank you very much for that!
You also have an interesting perspective on beauty.
Like this woman you have photographed, I love her shoes, a splash of colour in an otherwise drab look.
I just like bright colours in general. I grew up among them after all! But not too much colour, just a touch of it to look interesting.
deviousDiv
effortless--the clothing fits on her form as cleanly and as brightly as anything that has ever entered the sartorialist's spread.
i was just gonna go out tonight and buy those kind of socks!!!
W O W
Beautiful picture..the color of her hair looks great with that background. I love the socks!
Wow, this is the third fashion blog that I've seen this girl show up in. I'm starting to wonder if she ever wears anything different..
Elle est bien jolie, mais elle porte toujours la même tenue sur toute les photos, beeuh...
I love a girl in knee socks!!!
I love her. And I love this blog. Pure art. Thank you.
j
love seeing this girl, she always looks great; red hair/glasses work really nicely with the outfit.
PERFECT shot. gorgeous.
great pic, gust of air made to order, beautiful colors (the shoes). love the knee highs.
her one (lit) accessory ruins it for me.
is she the cutest thing i have ever seen?
Phoebe
I'm sure she is an artist's muse in some loft in Paris...she is adorable!
Isn't she magnificent!
She's lovely, but the knee socks are disturbingly little-girlish. I'd keep the Lolita look at a very, very safe distance, and it's not here.
I love the knee highs. I wish I had the bod to pull this look off.
dear satorialist i don't understand why you shoot her.
It's true she's so cute but lot of girls in Paris is dressed as she!
it's cute but not special!!!!
It's "That Girl!" Parisian-style for the new millennium!
I so want to be able to wear cute socks with peep toes but alas feel unable to.
The emerald green satin with light charcoal is just so good! Love love love it!
If Nabokov had gone off to Paris Vogue and landed Lo a spot on the Ford boards, this is what the spring editorial would have looked like.
Bravo!
Dusting off my Berlitz books here in Boston,
she is perfect!
Yes, there's definitely something about her style, but it's also the feeling she looks a bit clumsy, even if she has good figure.
I'm sorry to say this but... To me her glasses look terrible and the socks too. It's... NOT very beautiful. The cigarette make it even worse. The dress itself is pretty nice though.
......and once again she is ADORABLE!
très magnifique. l'essence de français
I've seen her picture on Dans Paris AND Facehunter, and also I think on Style Bubble... and it's easy to see why. I love the way she uses the shoes to set off her hair and at the same time lift the outfit away from being all neutral. And I'd love to have legs like that too, I must admit :)
i'm going to have to disagree with most of the folks here. i think her outfit is cute. i like the shoes a lot (though i think i would have picked purple ones for this particular look myself). but i feel like there is something very self-conscious about this girl. she doesn't have the same air of owning her style as i get from the rest of your pictures and that makes the look less fabulous to me.
SOOOO French, is she? Love the Vogue Paris look.
she's lovely! it looks like the wind comes from within her. she's so effervescent and glorious!
the combo of the muddy grey socks with the velvet emerald heels is so unexpected!
She s also an Emmanuelle Beart look-alike...so French !
Sorry, mltt. The feet are bugging me too much to not comment. Why do women do that? It's kind of disturbing --so cartoony little girl. For heaven's sake stand like a woman!
Still, I really like the outfit. The fact the color of the shoes doesnt' quite go with the color of the the socks is appealing--like she doesn't give a sh*t.
What a incredible shot! Love the colers! I love it! She looks like she just aparated there...
Is he the same girl you posted on Thursday, June 28, 2007 6:38 pm? Great shot!
Tremendous style - check out that long beaded neckless - tres cool.
Sartttt....
I seriously love ur stuff.
You always do a fantastic job & have excellent taste in fashion. Keep up the good work...
Btw, can i use ur pictures as part of my research for an collection im working on...?
this could be the cutest shot of all time
I think this is a very cute but simple look. She pulls it off, and this is what is attracting about her no?
Just as you say, Sart. Here is another good example of a wonderful and inspiring HOW. This mix...
Question out of the blue...Does Black jeans go well with caramel shoes?
everything works for us young men. i'm in love. except for the cigarette. almost in love, then?
finally - a spot of that classic sart eccentricity! i feel like lately your postings have become quite conservative and stuffy. bring back the funk!!!
oh no...! I'm in love... :-/
Really like her look - and admire your photographic skills.
here's that girl again, same look, same cigarette--she's one of my favorites as of late.
love the kneesocks!!
whose frames are those? i think dorky frames are making a comeback. has anyone seen yigal azrouel's fall collection?? it's heaven!
Cute as a button & with such style. Went back to view the other photos of her & WoW! She will resemble in thought & style those women you photographed in Paris & Milan wearing leopard coats with matching purses...& then some.
Bravo!
It's THAT girl ... she has the je n'sais quoi ...
She knows how to pull it together!
This is quintessential Paris, in my opinion - it's all flawless. I'm diggin' the glasses and the shoes...
Rock it, you chic thing...
Wow, I love the background and how it looks like she just fell from the sky... but I don't think angels smoke. Tsk tsk. Why is it so fashionable?!
It's her again? Still amazing outfit, but I hope she gets rid of the cig..
Love it - especially her glasses and jacket! I have a girl-crush on her. In theory I don't like those knee-socks on adult women, but she carries it off well.
This is the same girl from Rue Saint Martin... isn't she? Love it!!!
this photograph is amazing... it makes me like her without even knowing her... she's so pretty
Two words: exquisite and charming. Nothing else needs to be said.
Yea, I'm so gonna get myself a pair of one of those socks. Grey knee-high socks has got this vintage 'my grandmother's' feel to it but with those shoes. That's so chic! I can't believe I gave up one pair of those in Pedder Red!! Argh!
have anyone thought the three photographer took their pics the same day? she IS stunning
i love her socks.....!
what a beautilful girl!!

Thanks for that, anon, I agree with you. As I've stated in different words before, the toe-in Lolita stuff drives me nuts. Not so much that someone plays with that mode, but that it garners miles of raves. Rolle eyes...
in my humble opinion, this is by far without a doubt, your best picture on this blog. and i say that in a state of being that is so far gone i can actually pay you that kind of complement and believe it will not go to your head.
you are quite the photographer! beautiful shot! beautiful girl! beautiful outfit! i especially love the shoes and tall socks
Ahh! The incarnation of Pippi Longstocking!
beautiful black dress
I don't like the green shoes with that purple-y grey. D:
Looove the girl, loooove the picture, looooove the outfit, but must of all, loooove the background!
Love how she does the "Young, fasionable and literate girl" look to perfection.
Yeah she's the same girl from the Rue-Saint-Martin picture. She's lovely. I love her hair.
I'm afraid I'm reaching the ends of my eloquence here... That photo is just phantastic!!! There's an air of Julie Delpy around her that I absolutely adore!
I absolutely must ask you to post which camera you are using for these wonderful shots. The quality and colours are outstanding, I am assuming it's a DSLR camera though. Of course, you're a great photographer lol.
Fab site <3
you are great Sart, but your blog is getting so popular, I don t get to read all the comments anymore. On the other side when a topic reallly interests me, there is so many oppinions I can read through! WOW! diviousdiv is absoolutely right, your blog is soooo adictive!
And yes, that girl is marvellous!
the camera is a Canon 5D
fabulous shot. love her look.
The girl from Rue Saint Martin again? Definitely worth a return visit.
It always amuses me when your correspondents moralise about cigarettes. Smoking is, after the great cuff/sleeve debate, the biggest cause of contention on your blog. And yet, despite the fact that it aggravates me, at least the cuff/sleeve issue is about clothes. Smoking is an irrelevance. No-one is asking anyone to get close enough to her to suffer the effects of passive smoking.
She looks great. Hope she enjoys every puff, and every other excess/indulgence/impulse she decides to try, just as long as she doesn't whinge about the consequences later!
perfect stance
I'm amazed by the number of people who feel the need to comment on her cigarette, on both posts in which she is featured. I'm sure this woman, like most smokers and I'm sure most of the people who read this blog, is aware of the unpleasant side effects and health issues related to such a habit. Smoking is, however, still a choice an individual can make for his/herself. Do you all scold strangers you see smoking in the street, too?
wow. great photo, great girl.
wow. those socks...sexy, naughty, nasty!
what a great shot!!
she looks beautiful...love the pale skin, libarian chic look!
Sart, you might be a tad bit partial to GQ. Esquire August 2007 calls the Canon 5D an SLR worth schlepping. A manly prosumer camera. Your shots are awesome, observe the contrast of the green algae in the background of the picture.
She looks beautiful and ethereal in this photograph, but I looked her up on Face Hunter where she just looks childish and awkward.
This is a beautiful girl and very graceful. Love everything except the knee socks.
the emerald shoes are incredibly awesome!! and the whole outift matches perfectly! knee highs can look damn gorgeous I never would have thought that someone could match up with those stuff! cool!
OOh i like a lot, perfect fashion pic.
Congratulations on the shot. I think it is one of your best ever!
Thanks again for that picture of me.
You're definitely the best !
I hope to see you soon in paris.
She's really cute! Esp with her glasses! i love the splash of colour with her socks and her combination of socks with peep toes... What a smart twist!
She is rockingly adorable! A youthquake for this decade. LOVE those shoes!!!! xoxox, as always, lady
still love her, and now perhaps more. gry knee high with velvet shoes, genuis! i still love the rocking of the old skool frames.
While oft repeated remarks re smoking subjects are not very interesting, I can see where the presence of a cigarette is a relevant subject here. For a long time tobacco has served as a fashion media prop as much as hats or gloves. It provides an "attitude", which is part of a whole look.
That said, yes, she'd be more smokin' sans cigaret, and less cliche. Though I don't believe in censorship, I admire fashion or cinema directors who consciously avoid falling back on this effect. It's time to disconnect sexy/attractive fromm something causing lung disease. Or - more importantly - wrinkles ; )
Oh, my! She is amazing! I love the hair, it's like she is floating! :)
She's ao attractive and adorable. Love it.
I'm going to steal the picture and make it my desktop background.
Delilah
Also, on behalf of my husband --
That was the perfect place to take the photo, as well: the way the moss highlighted the greens in the dress and shoes, and the rusty red on the ground picked up the red in her hair, and the gray of the wall behind her echoed her socks.
We're both big Sartorialist fans. It's lovely to think about fashion in the way you inspire it. This is an art form we're all participating in whether we like it or not, so we may as well step up our games!
The look says, "I can wear whatever I want to wear... and you know you want me, don't you?"
she is so gorgeous! the touch that the cigarette creates is awesome.
my all-time favourite!
she's a reasin to become gay.^^
and there's only one city in the whole world which has such well dressed people: PARIS
pandora?
