In Italy....Coats that Move

i love this pic, it is very chic look. i love the movement and the volume the coat gives, without bulking up the look. the pink gives this look a very soft/sexy allure. good eye. keep up the good work.

Blogger Whitney O'Loughlin said ... (10:00 AM) :

I absolutely love this coat. What designer is it? I love the way it floats through the wind. So romantic!

Blogger Unknown said ... (10:17 AM) :

that is SUCH a brilliant look - probably too fashiony for real life sadly....

Blogger simplyolive said ... (10:17 AM) :

she is gorgeous!!

i especially love the skinny hip-slung pant and how it covers the heel of her shoe-i'll never tire of this look. the color combination is refreshing. the coat is a little much, but it works for her...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:19 AM) :

Wow, that's all I can say. She almost seems to be from another world. A bit fantasy inspired. Not to mention those legs and that mane of hair...

Blogger Unknown said ... (10:20 AM) :

This woman knows how to work that pink. She looks amazing and that coat looks so luxurious. Love how she turned a very refined coat into something seemingly casual. Ahhhhh...so refreshing.

Blogger Katie said ... (10:23 AM) :

The 2nd shot is beautiful!!! Great coat!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:26 AM) :

Oh, I just love it.....
pardon me for making this connection, but it's kind of couture matrix!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:34 AM) :

Seems this lady has really put effort on her outfit. Not bad,but less would have been enough too.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:38 AM) :

Holy Moses...what a coat! Is that Gaultier's trench from last fall? Can anyone identify it? And I love the whimsical tying at an Empire height. This young lady is feeling very chic and it shows. What a fun shot-I love to see people sport a look and enjoy themselves, rather than striking that "oh, go away" pose! Thanks, Sart!

Blogger benson said ... (10:44 AM) :

She is gorgeous, the coat is beyond words, and her long legs are fabulous...bravo!

Blogger Stephanie said ... (10:45 AM) :

oh oh oh oh oh!! There is not one single thing I don't adore on that woman - that coat. Oh my stars, that coat! That color - those colors! The movement of the fabric - the stance of her walk. She's mesmerizing!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:55 AM) :

I'm actually all about this stylish man. I love the sandals, the bag and that great belt. I've been searching for the perfect flat sandals for weeks now... who would have thought I'd end up seeing them on a man.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:10 AM) :

To hell with the coat. How about that body?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:20 AM) :

That coat is AMAZING! Now I LOVE coats like that but I feel like they would swallow up a short woman like myself. Any rules about short girls wearing long coats like this?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:34 AM) :

I'm usually just a lurker, but this coat impressed me. Great way to incorporate the volume of an overcoat while still highlighting the woman's figure. Did you get the name of the designer?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:35 AM) :

Is that not a little bit too over the top?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:38 AM) :

must say i really hate it.
it looks silly on her

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:51 AM) :

without the trench it would surely look way different, kind of paris hiltonish. amazing how much different one piece will make.
btw loving the shoes on the gentleman

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:56 AM) :

L´Wren again!
She has he perfect figure for such a theatrical coat!

Tim Burton-ish!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:07 PM) :

Is that L'wren Scott?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:08 PM) :

Is that L'wren Scott?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:14 PM) :

Simply fabulous! This is the kind of flattering style I love!

Blogger Carrie said ... (12:14 PM) :

Fantastic coat. I also dig the pants.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:15 PM) :

The woman's outfit is impressive in its simplicity. Lovely , discreet colours, moving fabrics, elegant accessories, beautiful long hair. Her coat reminds one of the cloaks worn by women until the early 20th century.
But, I think it's inappropriate for Italy in July. Next to her , a gentleman dressed for the season highlights the fact that stylish people must take the weather into account. So, now the woman appears ridiculous , but, had she dressed that way in a few months , she would have been stunning!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:56 PM) :

Anyone else find it a touch odd that The Coat is next to a man clad in shorts and sandals?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:17 PM) :

My first thought was: she must be hot... wearing all that in italian summer. Otherwise I agree with Kristina: the hair and these legs with the floating coat... bewitched I am.

Blogger Elizabeth said ... (1:22 PM) :

Who would bother to wear a coat on a beautiful summer day when everyone else is wearing shortpants, UNLESS the coat was absolutely superb?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:47 PM) :

Glamazon L'Wren!

Blogger jkh said ... (1:55 PM) :

good length of shorts with the guy. -- no longer than this. -- 4cm shorter ok.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:03 PM) :

I think that's a gorgeous look (if perhaps just a little over the top, but she can pull off the dramatic), except for the fact that it's apparently warm enough for shorts, which makes it way too warm for that coat.

Blogger Greentea said ... (2:21 PM) :

lovely
rather bottega veneta colors
and it all looks amazing with her tall build.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:33 PM) :

that's just gorgeous. there aren't any other words to describe that!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:49 PM) :

I can't say I'm fond of this look in the least bit. It seems like a catastrophic mix between a Barbie (too much sugary-sweet pink) and a witch (mixed with long, saturated black hair). Not to say that she isn't pretty herself, just that her look is kind of cringe-worthy.

Blogger positively the same dame said ... (3:04 PM) :

i'm somewhat torn on this one -- it's a bit too theatrical for me, and it looks like she spent an awful lot of time thinking about putting together an "outfit" so to speak (for me the goal is to think plenty long an hard but not to let it show -- i'm a hypocrite) but i admire the way she totally owns the look and her interesting twist on how to wear a trench. an excellent trench. the man looks wonderful.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:13 PM) :

Doesn't work in profile for me: long hair, long coat, long legs, long shoes.

The head on shot is more flattering. The knotted sash is nice!

(Now obsessing about out how to look good in profile...)

mltt

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:31 PM) :

The guy is very interesting too... I loved his sandals + the bag... she is great and the coat is fab. Nice pics!

Blogger odilean said ... (3:41 PM) :

i've figured it out. i see a fish tail! this lady is a mermaid! call scotland yard!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:19 PM) :

is she l'wren scott? i think so..

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:48 PM) :

Hmm. I too am torn--it's a lovely coat (if a bit unseasonal), but on the whole there is something VERY dated and cheesy romance novel-ish about this look. And is her name really L'Wren? She even has a Harlequin romance name! The gentleman looks perfect.

Blogger The Spicers said ... (5:56 PM) :

L'Wren can wear a super-long coat at six-foot-something. Is it her own design? Beautiful color combo and confident stance. Pity Mick Jagger wasn't with her!

Blogger dnqcnn said ... (6:49 PM) :

good pose :)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:46 PM) :

Great coat, great look. The big bug-eyed sunglasses work much better with her dark hair that they would with blonde ...

Blogger matt williams said ... (8:33 PM) :

This woman is very striking. Another 10 for Satorialist.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:28 PM) :

nice sandals on her friend!

Blogger Blaise said ... (9:52 PM) :

Sart, who is that beautiful woman? I'm a woman myself but I'm captivated by her beauty and elegance..

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:17 PM) :

The sandals are traditional St Tropez sandals, such as those made by Rondini.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:33 PM) :

What a simple, brilliant and perfect solution for those changeable weather days. Love how she's wearing this beautiful coat.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:10 PM) :

love his bag. just plain jealous of lady friend!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:12 PM) :

Has no one noticed just how much L'Wren looks like Jerry Hall?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:55 PM) :

That outfit could only work on her--being six feet tall and wearing flats--I dont love the way the coat is tied.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:29 AM) :

is it the clothes that make her look so tall? She seems to be about 185cm!
Could you please tell how tall she really was, I'm curious ;)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:20 AM) :

Hey guys, didn't you recognise it?
She is the same woman as in June "At Prada" post!
Here she looks so much younger, but still I prefer the other look!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:50 PM) :

Too much pink, perhaps if the top or pant were another shade of brown. Also, if she tied the belt behind her back or something so it didn't look like a random swath of tan simply calling attention to her chest.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:21 PM) :

this is amazing!

Blogger Sara said ... (3:10 PM) :

Love it - it's like chic Matrix-y...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:01 PM) :

OMG... Where can I got the leather bags that they are carrying?!?

They are fantastic!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:17 PM) :

Definitely think it's L'wren.. she is just striking!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:45 PM) :

I feel like her look is bordering on eurotrashy...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:17 AM) :

makes her look like a super hero...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:42 AM) :

how dramatic is that..l'wren scott is full of drama..she has such a cool vibe

Blogger Stratos Bacalis said ... (8:48 AM) :

Brillant dressing. My favorite type of coat. Her escort is nicely dressed too.

Blogger Holly said ... (1:31 PM) :

the fleshy pink tone of the top, pants and shoes makes the coat even better!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:29 PM) :

my first thouhght: WOW!
but then i imagined it w/o the coat and don't like it at all :/

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:47 AM) :

I think her bag IS Bottega Veneta
I agree that there's too much pink but it's really all about the coat

Blogger Eric Hancock said ... (9:04 PM) :

Pure heartbreak.

Blogger la femme said ... (7:28 PM) :

Extraordinary look.

Blogger Philippine said ... (9:04 AM) :

Isn't she L'Wren Scott?
(great style)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:18 AM) :

Lovely picture. With the blown coat and the summer ease fashion the guy was wearing. Major!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:27 AM) :

It's all about the fellow. His sandals are amazing!!! And his belt just pops with those navy shorts and light shirt. Looks incredibly sharp.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:42 AM) :

The coat is brilliant. this is established. But can we talk about the placement of the tie? its movement has been converted to a lovely empire. this woman is chic.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:38 AM) :

Bah! Someone beat me to the super hero comment. I don't know who this woman is but I adore her and her outfit. I imagine her at a young age wanting to be superwoman. Now here she is, dramatic 'cape' and all. Love love love.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:59 AM) :

That coat give her body, yet maintaing showing her slim figure.Quite nice!1

Blogger N said ... (11:25 PM) :

I love the guy's sandals, what are they? So chic!

Blogger Louise said ... (2:47 PM) :

Stunning. Love the soft colours contrasted with her jet black hair. Conveys confidence as well as style.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:48 PM) :

It's a mullet. A fashion mullet, but a mullet.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:11 AM) :

i wish i would be like her when i grow up!!!
