I think the nutty Isabella Blow sextagenarian rocking the peep-toes with athletic pants should be the real star of this shot.

Blogger Three Repute said ... (2:08 AM) :

love it.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:10 AM) :

he looks very nice, but the woman to his right is just absolutely wonderful.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:39 AM) :

love the photo. im more curious about the lady next to him!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:41 AM) :

maybe someone has said this, but that is anna piaggi. no?

that man looks divinely snappy.

Blogger Christolf said ... (2:44 AM) :

the "nutty" woman is Anna Piaggi, fashion writer/icon and a complete genius, no?

Blogger luxuryduck said ... (2:58 AM) :

That's Anna Piaggi. Don't be disrespectful.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:09 AM) :

I covet the shoes of his lady friend.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:11 AM) :

Perhaps night and day having a conversation...both as home in their own skins...love it!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:17 AM) :

very cool, anyone know what the shades are? thanks

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:11 AM) :

Can´t understand the need to use sunglasses inside.Either you just have come from some sort of eye operation or maybe you want to hide your identity.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:27 AM) :

the women on the right is the queen!!! lola

Blogger Diana said ... (7:37 AM) :

They are really like an elder devil and an angel (in the body of Anna Piaggi).
I love his socks and her "jogging pants". They are a class of their own.

Blogger will anderson said ... (8:18 AM) :

you always have to credit someone who is making a fashion choice that is deliberate. kudos to Beppe. but are the red socks really attractive? flattering? an improvement to the suit? when i see this i usually think the person's goals are not to look their best, but something other. attention? not that that is a less valid goal.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:41 AM) :

Beppe rocks! Very classic and understated, yet he is distinguished in his simplicity and good taste. Very Italian. Here's an interesting article about him and his outlook on style...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:17 AM) :

It's not Isabella, she passed away ....what was it, May 7th?? That is Anna Piaggi.

And Isabella was not nutty, she was beautiful.

Blogger The Spicers said ... (11:26 AM) :

Anna Piaggi does kind of steal the show here, with the high heeled peep-toes and aqua satin track pants!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:42 AM) :

who doesn't love a man with red socks? fabulous, as is Anna, Italian Vogue editor with a collection of the most stunning vintage fashion you would kill for.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:48 AM) :

Anna Piaggi makes Isabella Blow look like Brooks Bros.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:06 PM) :

not another seriously stylishly nutty milanese female sextagenarian wearing outrageous clothes again!! omg. outrageously wonderful.

Blogger Cut of cloth said ... (12:50 PM) :

A wonderful foto
the DEVINE miss P
In all her glory
In animated conversation
with mr red socks

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:04 PM) :

So, Sart, do you have any shots of Anna Piaggi? Beppe is great as usual, but what about her?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:59 PM) :

This is a tiny bit off-topic, but I'm really enjoying checking out the blogs and websites of people leaving comments. And, it's also much fun when commenters identify the people in the photo!

I'm now gonna google Anna Piaggi.

Sart, it's a brilliant idea not to identify everyone in the photos you post. Sort of a treasure hunt!

Blogger nuttnbunny said ... (2:25 PM) :

Those red socks are the only thing saving him from that explosion lurking on his left.

Fashion icons, too, must have lapses in judgement it seems.

Blogger Alice Olive said ... (2:37 PM) :

I want to see those sateen-finish-tracky-dacks that Anna Piaggi is rocking!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:40 PM) :

he looks really good. the woman next to him is begging for attention...
not sure if i think that's a good or bad thing.

Blogger positively the same dame said ... (3:37 PM) :

the beautiful beppe, man of my dreams. is that the safety pin?

Blogger Laurence John said ... (3:44 PM) :

AND an angled tie clip.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:45 PM) :

This gentleman looks wonderful in his red socks. Once again, it is the one unexpected touch that makes the whole look interesting and cool. And his fascinating companion elevates his cool factor big time.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:47 PM) :

Yes, but Sart knows where to direct his camera, and I think it was very sly to focus on the gent and not on Anna Piaggi. After all, she gets all the attention she is due from the likes of Lagerfeld, who sketches her, and Manolo, who designs her shoes, and Stephen Jones who designs her hats, and fans of her work at Italian Vogue, and those who enjoy any appearance she makes in public because she never wears the same outfit twice, and the Victoria & Albert in London, which had an exhibit dedicated to her style and career in 2006.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:40 PM) :

I always wonder if those sorts of details (red socks) are intentional, or they just happened to be the only pair of socks that were clean/were randomly thrown on.

I agree with Thea about the Isabella Blow-esque woman on the right!

Blogger anna e. pollock said ... (11:02 PM) :

When I look at her, I feel the blue levity of a stray butterfly during peak migration.

Blogger Asi Mod said ... (11:33 PM) :

The red socks on the gentleman is nice.

But is the lady next to him wearing a Nike track pants/warmers and fingerless gloves??? They look like something from the 1980s.

Blogger Blaise said ... (12:49 AM) :

The woman on the right side with peep-toe shoes, blue green (sweat?)pants and hair accessory outdid Mr. Beppe..

Blogger Unknown said ... (12:51 AM) :

Red socks are offered as an achievement sitting next to Anna Piaggi? Unfortunately, the lovely man suffers by comparison, and right now, and anytime Anna storms the gates, the rest of the world is exposed as either unimaginative, fearful, constricting, codependent bunch, sometimes all. Viva Anna, Viva viva viva!

Blogger Eroll said ... (2:45 AM) :

I love that he is wearing red socks! It's an injection of cool into a classic suiting. I wonder what underwear he's wearing. Red to match his socks??

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:38 AM) :

the lady on the left must be the italian equivalent of vivienne westwood!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:49 AM) :

the Lady IS the fab Anna Piaggi. If you google her nam, hit images, you'll see more of her outrageous outfits.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:09 PM) :

anna piaggi always brings the lolz!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:57 PM) :

Colored socks look sexy on a man. it shows some form of attention given to the greatest of details, which is so uncommon these days with men. Wonder what brand he's wearing. I bought some green ones from vk nagrani, and no one got it at first. now, i'm addicted to anything but black!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:42 PM) :

Go, Beppe, do your thing. I love stylish elders.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:44 PM) :

Just loved!

Blogger lewehrman said ... (4:02 PM) :

Both Isabella AND Anna are style icons. One does not trump the other.

May Isabella rest in peace.

She will be missed.

Blogger Disneyrollergirl.net said ... (9:23 PM) :

Of course Sart will have a pic of Anna by herself, but he's saving it for a separate post, right Sart?

I also like reading the comments as much as the posts AND I think one of my first ever comments came from someone who saw my comment on here and came to my blog (that's enough about me, let's talk about me)...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:19 AM) :

I love the shoes Anna Piaggi is wearing... the hat/coronal-thingy too.
They both look wonderful.

Blogger ninaberries said ... (12:24 PM) :

i fully agree with thea.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:42 AM) :

During a museum tour the guide explains, "Here you can see the statue of Minerva…".
"Excuse me, madam," a visitor interjects. "Who is that man behind her? Is he her husband?"
"No, Minerva wasn’t married: She was the goddess of wisdom."

Blogger krk said ... (8:39 PM) :

wonder what brand/make his monk shoes are.. they look awesome! anyone knows? :)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:12 AM) :

Off-colored (in regards to the outfit) socks are a detail I love. It brings focus to something that seems so ordinary.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:22 PM) :

Beppe is such a lady's man.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:51 PM) :

I would love to see a full shot of the woman he's speaking to... she's just fantastic!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:57 PM) :

Beppe always rocks!!
