good stuff!
very female, very sexy

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:31 PM) :

i have mixed feelings about this look, in part i like it because it light air and sexy, but the hem length is way to short, to the where its vulgar. if it were an inch or 2 longer it would be short enough to be sexy, young and flirty without being vulgar. it could also be that she is in motion so it seems to be riding up, making it shorter than it may actually be. which still seems to be a sign that it should be longer. anywho the sandals are superb. and the location of the shot is so beautiful. you should seriously consider opening a solo gallery show with an intimate collection of your most beautiful shots. take care.

ual!!! that's it!!
simple and fabulous

Blogger The Spicers said ... (5:57 PM) :

I would have said that hip-slung chain belts have seen their day, but this gorgeous woman wears it well! Very pretty, and love the flat sandals.

Blogger Susan B said ... (6:10 PM) :

There's a part of me that looks at that picture and thinks there's something missing, but then the other part says, "with those legs, why not?"

Blogger Gretta said ... (6:45 PM) :

I wore this in high school! One, of few, "timeless" classics from the 80s. Love the gladiator sandals with it.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:52 PM) :

Gorgeous! I wish Australia wasn't plunged into an arctic winter at the moment, because that dress makes me want to take off all my clothes and run around! Beautiful girl, perfect look.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:56 PM) :

hey that's tolula, the same girl you shot at dries.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:59 PM) :

She's doing everything right! I love it.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:04 PM) :

I tried out something like this before and I feel like it will never work; too much volume on top and the long legs make the dress look micro-mini....maybe if you're an olsen

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:07 PM) :

wow.. something that short takes courage. i'd make my husband look the other way if we passed her on the street!

Blogger the optimist said ... (7:10 PM) :

i adore the fact that this looks more like a shirt than a shirtdress. and now looking closer, it seems that she has two of everything: two sets of metallics in the belt & sandals; two dark pieces in the sunglasses and bag; and two whites in the shirt and ipod buds. i doubt this sort of pairing was intentional, but the ease of the reflection is so refreshing and comfortable.

and though it's not even august yet, i must say i'm looking forward to a sartorialist musthave/top10 fall looks piece.... how about it?

Blogger Berkley Magazine said ... (7:15 PM) :

Very sexy but yet tasteful and I love the fact that she is not wearing any leggings like almost every girl wearing a shirt does these days.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:29 PM) :

What radiant confidence! You have to have it to pull off an outfit like this one.

Blogger Unknown said ... (7:34 PM) :

Flawless. What a clean vision in white.

Blogger simplyolive said ... (7:45 PM) :

this is a perfect summer look.
everything about her is right.

(what does one wear under these short shirt dresses? hot pants? pretty floral knickers? just curious...
i'm not sure what i'd pair with it.)

Blogger DK said ... (8:15 PM) :

Ahh...summer.

Blogger H said ... (8:47 PM) :

Beautiful. Simple, effortless elegance.

Blogger positively the same dame said ... (8:53 PM) :

oh! i actually own this shirt dress, but it is a sheer white with an apple print, and the belt is a woven rope kind of thing. it is by diana von furstenberg and it is otherwise identical to this one. do i wear it without some type of pants or shorts? lord, no! but then i don't look like this woman, either.

Blogger positively the same dame said ... (9:08 PM) :

oops...meant to say diane von furstenberg -- i have tina brown's "the diana chronicles" on the brain these days.

Blogger Unknown said ... (9:44 PM) :

Carrie Bradshaw did this.

Blogger Blaise said ... (9:50 PM) :

SEXY!

Blogger K.C. said ... (9:54 PM) :

she's my dream girl. i'm so jealous of your job.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:09 PM) :

You'd wear boy shorts/hot pants/batty riders under something like this. Then you'd strut...like this.

mltt

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:43 PM) :

i love the way that street is paved more than anything else.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:46 PM) :

yea i thought about sex and the city when i saw this

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:06 PM) :

if i attempted anything like this i would mess it up in 3 seconds flat, adjusting this and that and making sure nothing was exposed...of course some boy leg sexy briefs would be the go here.
gosh she looks great. so cool and composed.
thankgod she ditched the socks!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:36 AM) :

She's magnificent - effectively using a minimal amount of clothing and ornament to accentuate her lovely face, figure, and flawless skin. I especially like that there's not a scrap of jewelry to call attention away from her remarkable physicality.

I agree with lumalira that it's refreshing to see this volume-over-slim look done without those ubiquitous cropped leggings. I imagine some women wear those monstrosities to disguise figure flaws. This young lady effectively demonstrates how to dress when one doesn't have any figure flaws to disguise.

While I don't agree with previous commenters that the hem length looks vulgar or unfinished, I do think it looks dangerous and a bit impractical in an urban context (which I'm sure is intentional). Were she snapped while strolling through Ipanema or Cannes there would be no question of appropriateness.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:38 AM) :

to me this is like one of the idealized images I have in my head of how summer is supposed to look... hot! :)

Blogger Unknown said ... (1:21 AM) :

hot legz.
hot dress, perfection on her.
hot warm lighting pouring upon her.
love, love, love it!

Blogger Vida said ... (3:51 AM) :

Sart I cannot tell you how much I love the way this woman looks! Easily one of the sexiest things (the picture) I have ever seen. Someone should tell her everyday that she is amazingly hot, in case she forgets...

Blogger Angel said ... (4:07 AM) :

so cute i love it

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:31 AM) :

Nice shirt, but i wished she had worn the belt in her waist istead. With the belt on her hips she looks like a greec anciant man.

Blogger dnqcnn said ... (5:07 AM) :

i wanna be a gucci girl...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:38 AM) :

Oh, to be young and leggy. Bellissima!

Blogger simplyolive said ... (9:01 AM) :

to anonymous 4:31,

the belt on the hips is exactly where it needs to be--on the waist, and it's all wrong!

Blogger Alice Olive said ... (9:27 AM) :

She looks amazing - why not show off that amazing figure and skin with a minimalist white shirt-dress?! Fantastic! She'd probably look somehow not as good if that dress were longer - it suits exactly as it is!

Blogger chalkboards said ... (10:02 AM) :

I think this look is extremely sexy and she pulls it off. Don't know if anyone could go to work looking like that though.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:16 AM) :

absolutely love this!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:33 AM) :

I've always liked the idea of shirtdresses like these, but I'd have to say it looks vulgar here. However, I think that lengthening it might make it lose its character.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:38 AM) :

well, if I had legs like THAT, I'd flaunt them too...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:14 PM) :

It´s all about the great legs and the sandals... otherwise it would be an ordinary shirt....

Blogger phoenix said ... (12:27 PM) :

What a fantastic look! She's certainly got the legs to pull it off! Very light, casual and summery. The belt and shoes are perfect.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:08 PM) :

You can wear cheerleader style bloomers, those amazing extra short shorts from american apparel (those high waisted ones), or even boy shorts swim bottoms might be nice. Even better, a dancer's leotard in a flesh tone that matches yours- very alluring.

Blogger Cut of cloth said ... (1:12 PM) :

The Ultimate Accessory
A Beautiful White Shirt
We need say nothing more...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:48 PM) :

I guess we need to define "vulgar". If that dress were worn with hooker shoes, bad make-up and a bad purse and was hanging out on some unsavoury street corner at 4 in the morning, then maybe vulgar would suffice. This look is young and fresh and speaks to the season that is: summer! Who's to say she isn't wearing an appropriate undergarment i.e. shorts?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:15 PM) :

there are only two word that come to mind when seeing this:

FIERCE, HONEY!

Blogger nakedsushi said ... (7:22 PM) :

I love this!
it's beautiful and she has the legs to pull the outfit off!

Blogger EsTher Omaña said ... (4:11 AM) :

I love a white simple shirt so.. cool and sexy.. with good accesories it looks like a million bucks..

xoxo

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:04 AM) :

Love this look - the whole combination of the dress with the belt and those sandals is perfect

Blogger Who's That Fashionista? said ... (5:16 PM) :

she looks great!

Blogger La Purpura said ... (2:52 AM) :

I agree wirth myself, ha ha.

Very astonishing, very stylish and very cool.

BUT, what happens when she has to sit down?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:47 PM) :

Very few people on this planet could wear this and carry it off so perfectly. Not for the amateur (or squat figured!!), but she looks magnificent and the cropped hair and big glasses keep it all in balance.

Blogger JTB (JourneyToBlue) said ... (8:06 AM) :

fantastic and stylish dress!
I've seen the same on Carrie Bradshow in SEX&CITY.
you have to have long and skinny legs though to wear this kinda of thing:)

Blogger Adrienne said ... (2:45 PM) :

If my legs look like that I wouldn't care how high my skirt inched up! Plus she looks fantastic despite that...some people are such prudes!

Blogger Unknown said ... (6:47 AM) :

Epitome of sexy.

Blogger Maiteko said ... (10:53 PM) :

I just love it!!!sexy and classy

Blogger Riima said ... (5:57 AM) :
