At Ann Demeulemeester...Gianluca Cantaro of L'Uomo Vogue

This image really doesn't capture Gianluca's personality because he really seems very gentle but at that moment he looked like such a rock'n'roll bad-ass that I couldn't pass up the shot.
This is one of those shots that the long-term abstract inspiration will be more important than the individual pieces of clothing.

I love the "Anti-Marching band" of it all. Great coat

The young gent looks lovely, cool hair, nice lil' jacket and a bit of a tense face, maybe too tense for someone attending a fashion show but his great white shirt makes me think HELMUT LANG! Please let us have Helmut back! The real one. The one and only. Helmut, you are so missed!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:41 AM) :

how do white people get dreds like that?

Blogger blue said ... (11:01 AM) :

regio, realmente notable.
adorable

Blogger Stratos Bacalis said ... (11:14 AM) :

The jacket is great! What is it?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:25 AM) :

if you consider this sartorial, then you would have a field day in san francisco.

Blogger Matthew Grayson said ... (11:39 AM) :

anon 10:41, I think the proper question is "WHY do white people get dreads like that?"

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:47 AM) :

Sweet jacket and shirt. I would personally have chosen to tuck the shirt in a bit more and ad a belt and a hair cut... but everything seems to work for him, so big thumbs up

Blogger Butch said ... (12:08 PM) :

The jacket is miraculous--what is it made of? Leather?

Otherwise, rather standard issue, though the dreads DO pull everything into another sphere...

Blogger wefflet said ... (12:10 PM) :

I want that jacket.

Blogger stacy said ... (1:52 PM) :

I'm diggin' it. I do wish he were smiling though...but I also write a blog about happiness...so I'm always wishing people were smiling!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:55 PM) :

so cool..this and the previous photo (The Intellectual) are great! Style without preciousness.

Blogger Alice Olive said ... (2:23 PM) :

I really like the stark constructivism of the jacket, the black and white against the softness (for want of a better word) of his face and hair.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:40 PM) :

This garish jacket is by Dior Homme. I happen to have exactly the same jacket, an impulse buy. But as a straight male living in Chicago, I could never actually wear this kind of clothing. :)

Blogger whyioughtta said ... (3:35 PM) :

The abstract inspiration for this painterly photo IS wonderful...but I have to say: so is that jacket.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:36 PM) :

he is seriously dapper - in the most bohemian way, of course. smart, sart!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:48 PM) :

Jacket and shirt are Dior Homme I think.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:13 PM) :

i want that man!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:12 PM) :

The jacket is from Dior Homme. Spring collection 2006 .. and it was like 4000usd .. and its not leather.

Blogger MacGuffin said ... (6:17 PM) :

Now that is attitude! I wouldn't approach em on a bet.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:14 PM) :

Yup, Dior Homme and 100% silk. Emerges on ebay once in a while but still very pricy. beautiful!

Blogger MARIA H said ... (7:30 PM) :

"such a rock'n'roll bad-ass that I couldn't pass up the shot"...Not surprisingly close to all Ann Demeulemeester grace!

(i didn't mean for it to be anonymous)

Blogger Disneyrollergirl.net said ... (8:36 PM) :

Cool, I thought that was a fur trim on his jacket but it's a bit of his hair! I miss Helmut Lang too Artemis :(

Blogger tn said ... (9:25 PM) :

LOVE the jacket, LOVE the attitude!!! where is the jacket from?
This man has great style. Is that redundant?

Blogger Blue Floppy Hat said ... (1:42 AM) :

Lovely shot. The cleanness of the colours mixed with the messy hair just take it to another altitude on its own.

Blogger Stratos Bacalis said ... (10:47 AM) :

Anonymous at 2:45 from Chicago, can I have the jacket since you do not wear it? I know I would!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:02 PM) :

i love how his Dior jacket (and probably the shirt too) costs thousands of dollars, but if you look at the button on his jeans, they're $60 Cheap Mondays! The perfect high-low mix that Sart always talks about

Blogger Olimpia Liberti said ... (5:28 PM) :

dred locks are really cool here in Brazil!

Blogger londondog said ... (5:56 PM) :

What really makes it great for me is the combination of that semi military coat and his dreadlocks, which give him that fabulous urban warrior edge.

I love this look - very unique.

Blogger N icole said ... (11:31 AM) :

no words to say : he got it all :)
