Comments on "Shades Of Blue, Pitti Uomo"
Well, brown loafers with the blue shades, I am not sure about that combination. Otherwise, I like his address and waggish smile, even the cigarette. It simply matches.
you're my new favorite blog!! im moving to florence in 2 weeks or so. gonna be around this summer?? LETS SHOOT TOGETHER!
Hmm, not sure which is more worrying: your insistence that we men get brown loafers (no, no, no, as Amy Winehouse would say); or the implication that the hem of (normal fit) trousers should be lifted off our shoes and left hanging somewhere above our ankles. Not to put too fine a point on it, this may look okay if you, let us say, "average" height, but a man of around 6' 3" (~190 cm) looks as if he lost his glasses while shopping in a secondhand clothes store (although I concede that short drainpipes can look good on the taller man)...
Too cool for SKOOL!!
A Milanese James Bond (Daniel Craig).
Once again-where are the socks. I find it really disturbing and disgusting when wearing a suit you leave out the socks. It´s okay and right with bermudas and sandals or deck shoes but not with a suit.
alright...the tapered pants. i'm wondering if this is a typical italian look or something this is a recent phenom. is it something that these gents are having done by their tailor? or can you buy that off the shelf? its quite different from anything we would find in the states.
i like this guy...the cigarette, the smirk. nice shot.
What a hunk!
Interesting? You don't think the jacket is a little too snug? I would never be able to feel comfortable in a blazer that tight.
That look is CLEAN.
i love the loafers...i just got some tod's in the same color, and planned to wait until the fall to wear them...needless to say, i'm rocking them this weekend!!!!
No dice, that look with short pants and no socks is not working for me.
No dice, that look with short pants and no socks is not working for me.
Sexy thug? Thuggish gentleman? ruggedly handsome?
Answer: all of the above
Furthermore..........who cares? This man is very cool in an Italian way that reminds me of the 40's/50's/60's.
oh no, if this is the shape of what's to come for men, i am sorely disappointed. he looks completely unbalanced with those tights / leggings.
Hm, again with the tiny pants. 'fraid I don't like the look when these guys are standing, and in part because all I can think is how squicky they'll look (and how very uncomfortable they'll be) as soon as they try to sit down. It's not a good look.
Is it me or does that jacket look a bit snug? Notice the "X-ing" around the button. Other than that I like the look.
He is soooo sexy!
Love the look. I normally dislike it when people's pants are too short, however it seems to go with his personality.
Sart,
Take a note this guy is wearing ankle socks.
Okay.. I do think the jacket is too tight.
But, maybe he just gained weight. It's possible.
nice stile!
Is it me, or is that jacket a bit tight around his waist? Maybe its just the way the button is pulling. Pocket square dresses it up a notch for a casual look.
Pants seem a little high, too. But they show off the shoes and lack of socks
i like the whole outfit...luv the loafers but not sure if i'll wear it with a blue ensemble though yet this guy pull it off and it looks great i would take out the cigerette out though
Brown is a nice warm contrast to the cool blue. It gives it a subtle energy and interplay.
Sart, what's the temperature like over there? The gentleman in your photo looks totally cool in his jacket and shirt so I assume it's not as hot as NYC over there.
Love the suede loafers.
I think the length of the pants is fine with the loafers-no-socks look. (anonymous 7:39--this is not a suit!)
What disturbs me is that everything is too tight, making him look like he just gained 10 kilos.
You should shoot in Chicago!
Working in the field of analytics I can't help but make the following assumptions:
If you don't understand:
- brown shoes
- tailored/snug suits or jackets
- slim pants
- shoe grazing hems
Then in most case you would be from the US.
I would love to see a poll or audit of the providence of the posters.
What a great summer look. he looks great...Ilove the whole outfit... cool for summer....I am sitting at work right now in New York in a fitted butter scotch colored cotton suit , button down and no socks very comfortable ...going from work to museum to cocktails/dinner without skipping a beat ..no need to go home and change...yes
I personally love brown and blue, I think it's one of the best color combos (though I don't really wear either color), but I just cannot get used to the proportions of this look. But maybe it's just a matter of time. There's a reason why we refer to some people as "fashion forward". I think you can be a very stylish person, but may not necessarily have the foresight to be an early adopter.
I really like this style because he looks like he feels great in it. I also agree with the blogger that suggests that tall men ( 6'3" +) may look funny in pants that are a wee bit short - although it's fantastic on a shorter male. I love the confidence with the cigarette in his mouth.
I think this person is too chubby to carry off this look. Or, this look makes him look chubby. He looks like he's stuffed into the pants and is barely keep the jacket buttoned.
Love it on the other fellas though (Mr.Brown linen suit looked wonderful).
To Diva, jacket plus pants makes a suit. Anonymous 7.39.And that is that.
Ah, I'm not sure about this fellow. Both the jacket and the trousers look one size too small and the trousers are too short.
Worrying that this might be thought to be an italian trend. We're sensitive about suit tailoring and that kind of looks like he's walked out of the wrong washing machine cycle. He's great though, love him.
I agree with lostintranslation: very (new) James Bond. He's got something for you and shows it.
The jacket cannot be buttoned, he got the trousers from his prep school-aged son's closet and people call this turnout a good fit?
very sexy
To: 5:41 am (Amy Winehouse)
If you worked in an office of boring accountants who couldn't dress to save their lives, you would be begging for brown loafers.
Brown loafers with tan pants and a blue blazer or brown suedes with gray pants is a most welcome change to the boring and monotonous black shoe. Perhpas if you saw it done properly you would agree that it is visually pleasing. Crocket & Jones makes a great brown suede loafer for their own account and for Ralph Lauren.
I work with the guy in that pic....he is German, not Italian, dresses like that everyday, and works in the same German company as the Green Dandy from February 2006
http://thesartorialist.blogspot.com/2006/02/green-dandy.html
Both very German, brown loafers - Very Straight, Green Dandy not so much.
