I love this photo for a number of reasons:

1. This is an example of wearing trends(extreame versions) straight off the runway and making them work togeather.

2. I love the color of her skirt. I can not get enough of that shade of green. I think that shade is called kelly green(?).

3. How lucky is she to have such a small waist.

4. I love those Nicole Richies. In my city people have taken to call all extra large sunglasses Nicole Riches.

5. Stat is such a talented photographer.

Blogger JO said ... (6:45 PM) :

Perfect!

Blogger brando said ... (6:46 PM) :

The dress looks like a piece from McQueen's Fall 07 collection and she pulls it off nice- casually.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:52 PM) :

What a beautiful female form on this young lady. The outfit hasgreat elan. I love the contrast of the simplicity of her outfit the messy Bardot-style hair. She is beautiful. Subtle allure is always more sexy than blatant advertisment. As always, xxoo

Blogger Mysterious Creature said ... (6:53 PM) :

I love this shot, one of the best yet! I don't even know what to admire first: the skirt, the shoes or eyeglasses. Everything put together so well and with such a great sense of style! And, of course, the picture itself is a little work of art.

Blogger PAULO said ... (6:57 PM) :

I just love the mix of the luxe skirt and casual tee.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:07 PM) :

ahh im in love! i am craving a skirt like that right now.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:18 PM) :

wow, what a chic look. it echoes of early autumn but it works so well, even in late june! i love the shape of the skirt, so flattering. and the way it's paired with that t-shirt, its surprisingly elegant yet relaxed.

Blogger Kid said ... (7:36 PM) :

She looks like a sweet little human tulip, from the structured skirt to the little pinched pout. It has a whimsical feeling without being immature. A new way to do summer!

Blogger wool and misc said ... (7:39 PM) :

This is heaven.

Blogger Susan B said ... (7:42 PM) :

I think that shade is called kelly green(?).

Actually Kelly green usually is used to describe a bright, grass green. I'd describe this color as Pine, forest green or hunter green (YMMV depending on your monitor).

This is a nice look, regardless.

Blogger anonymous said ... (7:43 PM) :

Perfect shoes for the dress.

Blogger MARIA H said ... (7:54 PM) :

awesome balance of structure and textures!

Blogger Asi Mod said ... (7:56 PM) :

The exaggerated puff of the skirt nicely defined her slim waist and gorgeous legs.

Beautifully done.

Blogger zuccotto said ... (8:14 PM) :

Terrific dress, like both the skirt/top shaping/fluidity and the elegant colors; pretty woman.

With the toe-in stance (when will this die out?) and the glasses, I think of Lolita, but did even Lolita toe in? Lollypop missing.
Not to pick on this lady, as a fair percentage of females photo'd on the Sartorialist over the past months do this; I just don't get it.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:33 PM) :

GWENETH!?
but only better

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:49 PM) :

sexy. she makes this work and she's managed to pull this off WITHOUT looking twenty pounds heavier than she is!

good on her:)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:05 PM) :

Must. Have. That. Skirt.

Blogger Blaise said ... (9:18 PM) :

That's the shade of green I really like.. And that skirt's interesting.. Something that I could pull off??

Blogger Unknown said ... (9:19 PM) :

Is that an Alaia skirt? Love the outfit.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:26 PM) :

Just impeccable style!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:38 PM) :

this is an absolutely perfect way to bring a silhouetted shape to the streets without the pretense. the pumps add just the right amount of weight to proportion such a robust skirt.

she looks cool, comfortable and stylishly collected.

....as she should, just a stones throw from such a fashionable house.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:40 PM) :

Egads! The attempt at dressing down the (wonderful) skirt falls flat.

It's some combination of the sheer shirt with not enough bra support underneath and the shoes.

Would have liked to see the clutch though. It's really hard to go wrong with a clutch.

Blogger sariah said ... (10:29 PM) :

this is really fantastic -- the skirt is so structured and has a rather extreme shape, so it could easily upstage the wearer, yet in this case it doesn't. She totally WEARS this, and I love that she paired it with a simple t-shirt and minimal accessories, simple hair and clean make-up. This would be nowhere as lovely if she loaded on even one extra trend -- this way it is modern and classic at once. Also, this is a great example of a savvy woman wearing the trends that perfectly suit her figure. Love it, can't you tell?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:02 PM) :

This high waistline of the skirt flatters her body, but at the same time it does the opposite to her legs.Maybe the shoes are too heavy. The way her hair hangs natural the shoes needen´t be so sturdy.

Blogger lucia martinez said ... (11:07 PM) :

this is gorgeous--I love the casual hair and t-shirt with the high design and strict structure of the skirt. fab waist.

Blogger Shopaholic D said ... (11:28 PM) :

she looks like gwyneth a bit...nice shoes!

:) D

Blogger Jen (MahaloFashion) said ... (11:30 PM) :

she looks great, that skirt is awesome.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:40 PM) :

The shoes, The sunglasses, The clutch, The skirt+T-shirt/dress, The colors, The bracelets, The necklaces.

Perfect. This is what I call a look cut out of a fashion magazine and working out extremely good in real life.

Although there is one point I have to question about this, the womans smile/face gesture.

Sart, this is another fantastic shot!

Blogger la femme said ... (12:39 AM) :

Absolutely amazing.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:46 AM) :

Blogger Big Eyes Strange Names said ... (1:07 AM) :

that skirt is a knockout. it IS the outfit. love how she paired it with a T. perfectly understated. it lets the skirt work it's magic. there's no competition within the look. smart woman!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:08 AM) :

Ah ! My heart skipped a beat when I saw this photo. It's beautiful. The structure and formality of the skirt paired back to the t-shirt. Pulled off flawlessly. An amazing photo.

Blogger the *ubiquitous spectator* said ... (3:04 AM) :

divine....absolutely amazing, her hair with it. just the right amount of pouf volume, the perfect combo of casual and dress, i want it now!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:11 AM) :

Does anybody have any idea where that beautiful skirt is from?

Blogger Alice Olive said ... (7:59 AM) :

I can't add anything new to what has already been said - she's wonderful!

Blogger Unknown said ... (8:23 AM) :

So chic she makes me wanna cry. This is what many Paltrow wannabees yearn to look like.

Blogger The Spicers said ... (9:51 AM) :

The gold bangles, the tulip shape, the tissue tee: all work beautifully to evoke casual cool. She's got a great eye and sophisticated sense of style. Love it!

Blogger pumpkin said ... (9:53 AM) :

talk about hard to pull off - kudos to this lady for going for it and balancing that statement skirt beautifully.

Blogger Lauren C said ... (10:08 AM) :

This is Julia Von Boehm, stylist for French Vogue. She's wonderful. You can see her personal style comes through in her work.

Blogger Unknown said ... (10:29 AM) :

who makes the skirt...i want one too!

Blogger Kelly said ... (10:36 AM) :

So beautifully structural - reminds me of vintage Balenciaga or Christian Dior's tulip line. And as asian models said, a great example of a full skirt that sets off her waist and legs w/o at all making her look hippy.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:47 AM) :

she looks awesome. period.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:02 AM) :

I love this and I am inspired

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:43 AM) :

I think that the skirt is absolutly fantastic, and it looks great with the simple gray tee.

simple, yet oh so sophisticated.

Blogger divina said ... (12:23 PM) :

it's unbelievable how wondrful she looks! wonderful photographer and good style combination works!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:55 PM) :

Couldn't be more perfect.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:40 PM) :

It´s so great to see extreme yet simple options outside a fashion editorial.
She makes the combination work for her.

It would be so nice to be a lot of girls dressed so nice, instead of the everyday same-olds we usually see.

bellycapelli says: i don`t know why but these shoes just don`t work for me. ich mag sie nicht.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:32 PM) :

as usual, people forget that alaia's high waisted skirts have to be worn with either very short knits or a 'body' so you don't get the wrinkled t shirt effect. i am shocked by the lack of knowledge of the comments( well, it does look like a mcqueen skirt but that mcqueen skirt might come from somewhere else...) and how easily people get impressed when the outfit is not straight from h&m. cute chick though.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:03 PM) :

I think that is julia von boehm, carine's ex-assistant

Blogger londondog said ... (5:40 PM) :

Absolutely amazing skirt and top. She looks cute but with an edge too it that really makes the look. There is one but... weirdly, I don't like the shoes. I say weirdly because in their they should suit the outfit but somehow they look too chunky.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:29 PM) :

Beautiful shoes with an impressive effect on her legs. The color of the skirt adds much charm to the casual/chic look.

Blogger Pana said ... (7:19 PM) :

the scirt is great!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:33 PM) :

Nice look, though I agree with what anon said about Alaia's and the wrinkle effect.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:08 PM) :

just perfect.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:13 PM) :

alaia's high waisted skirts "have to" be worn with short knits or a body?

Who says? You, anon 3:32?

Glad fashion and what people wear is a democratic endeavor and not a dictatorship.

Plenty of people on this blog like what she is wearing and recognize quality, whoever the designer.

kinda looks like she's wearing a melted funnel... she's a beautiful woman though and carries it with confidence.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:36 PM) :

god I want this skirt. so bad.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:43 PM) :

This looks is faultless, the shirt, on many would look ridiculous, but on her looks impeccable and sher carries is perfectly, and love the combo of it with the casual, grungesque tee, perfect!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:48 PM) :

of course it's alaia and of course this is a picture of Julia VB Carine's ex assistant
