Comments on "The Noon Parade, Ostermalm, Stockholm"
very beautiful photo!
Looks like the Mounted Royal Guards. They formed in the beginning of the 18th century and the tradion still lives on.
This parad is on every day at noon and is the change of the royal guards att the castle.
Hi Sart! It´s the changing of the guards on their way to the palace. This happens everyday at noon during the summer. Hope you enjoyed Sthlm and welcome back.
/ A big fan and assistent at the Royal Palace Sthlm
I've lived in stockholm for many years now and I dont know why they have this parade either(they do march to the royal palace as far as i know), so don´t worry, your not alone! Thank you for a very interesting blog, Im am a beginner to your blog, but a longtime lover of fashion and handsome people!
It is the changing of the guards at the royal castle! They ride from the stables in Östermalm to the royal castle in Gamla Stan.
The colours are vivid and the composition is wonderful. Great angle!
It's the changing of the royal guard's with a military band that is on your picture. You can read more here; http://www.hogvakten.mil.se/article.php?id=4391. Thank you for a fantastic blogg!
I can't believe I missed that you went to Stockholm, I suddenly feel slightly retarded
I thought maybe you took this picture on the king's birthday. That's when I saw the royal gaurd.
