that guy is seriously squared away. very nicely done. the pant length, the shoes...nice. but i have a question. what makes his shoulders and sleeves wrinkle so much? some would be expected, it seems like a deconstructed sleeve.
is it supposed to look like that. it doesn't take away from his look, but its odd.

He's a big guy who carries himself very well. It's not a very nice, or accurate title. He looks great.

Blogger Butch said ... (9:14 AM) :

Very nice--despite the fact that the trousers are a wee bit overfull and a wee bit long.....

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:41 AM) :

A luxuria personificada

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:46 AM) :

Wow. The light-play on his jacket is wonderful.

Blogger Lit said ... (10:53 AM) :

BFMan comes up trumps once again, outstanding look. This guy really knows how to carry his size, but I think this is the best I've seen him look, bravo.

Blogger Mr. Rover said ... (11:07 AM) :

Any tighter, he would look like a lollipop!
This guy is dressed so well- he has that perfect V from the shoulder to the waist, which is mirrored again from the hip to the shoes. Just perfect! He knows exactly what works for him.

Very, very nice. If I remember correctly, this man gets his sportcoats custom made in Italy (was it Milan?). Judging from the shoulders, I think this suit is also a custom piece. I really wish I could see what was on his tie (looks like horses mabye?). He looks like a high-class southern Italian.

I like the look of this geezer - he's a big man who looks like he uses those Swedish hipsters as toothpicks. However, I'm British and don't understand your fanciful use of my language - can someone please translate what "BFMan" means. Many thanks. MARK.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:50 PM) :

thank you. Finally a picture of a grown adult actually dressed like one.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:32 PM) :

great look

great pic

Awww,
I don't mean to be so demanding today, Sart, but...no extreme close up of the pocket square/tie combo?

Do like the effect of the cigar!

mltt

Well put together. How long have I been in search of shirts with rather small cuffs as depicted here! Does anyone know what labels have such shirts on offer?

He has lost weight!

wow. i read about your blog in a magazine here in singapore. :) i really loved your street snaps. i'm going to be living in new york come fall. i wish i had taken more street photos in tokyo where i used to live. but your photos here were really inspiring. i drew a new outfit design after looking at them! hopefully i'd be even more inspired when i start living in new york myself. cheers!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:40 PM) :

Sexy! I love BF Man!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:15 PM) :

Something about the pants/ They don't drape well as if too tight at the ankles

cigalechanta

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:58 PM) :

IMHO -- jacket sleeves are too small; they should fall, not cling. But I don't mind the pants length or width; they are consistent with the classical look he has going on overall. And I don't know what BFMan means either (and I'm from NYC, where we really know English).

Elegance, intimidation, arrogance. Concrete wellingtons + Park Avenue.

BF Guy....

We Salute You, Sir...!

You D'Man!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:48 AM) :

hmmmm....are we to surmise that BFM and Giovanna are an item? ;-)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:19 PM) :

Awesome look

very dashing

he's married to Marjorie Gubelman and they look great

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:51 PM) :

As others have said, he looks nice. It really is good to see someone who is actually well dressed.

It isn't necessarily the style, but slightly longer lapels and a lower button stance would probably go nicer with his physique - it might not be the "fashion" of the moment, but would suit him nicely. I'd like to see his pant length just a tad shorter - think that is what is messing with their line.

william, I think the wrinkles on his jacket are just that he has a very lightweight wool on them. While nice they sometimes don't lay as nicely as a heavier, less sleek wool.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:38 PM) :

the arms are too tight

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:39 PM) :

I straight as a arrow, just to make things clear...but this guy looks freaking great. Not a flaw on him. I'm not saying that he shouldn't lose some weight and too bad he doesn't have more hair, but he perfectly exemplifies the attitude of doing the best you can with what you have. Fashion mads are filled with retouched airbrushes mindless morons dressed by pros. This guy is real (not a model I'd guess), dressed himself (I assume), and frankly did a f-ing amazing job at it.
Shirt, tie, pocket square, pinkie ring, suit, shoes, haircut, glasses, etc.
If you're reading this, just know that looking like that you could be poor as a bum, but you could walk onto a Monaco yacht and everyone would think you owned it.
A++
