Gorgeous, absolutely gorgoeus. I love this woman, her attitude, the way she tucks her hands into those over-sized pants, and right up to her hair, love it.
Hands down my favourite look from these pages so far. Seemingly effortless, understated and chic. It made my heart flutter a little!

A lovely, classic face and attractive hair style ruined by an ill considered choice of baggy, abominable pants.

Oh, she's one of my favorites. The cool colored shirt with the pop-orange sweater. The bright modern colored sweater that has a traditional, loose shape. Those pants! And the tight scarf at the neck offsetting all the loose clothes. She's just awesome.
ok i really don't want to be catty here...but anon @ 11:25am WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?! what about sexy/ subtle/ original/ unexpected? as georgeous as she is, capri pants, as you suggest, would take her from "incredibly chic" to "soccer mom" quicker than i can say "originality is a virtue!" and on a side note, there's a difference between baggy and wide-leg.

What a great shot. This look is on it's way to the U.S. I find that Germany and , oddly enough, Amsterdam , is always so ahead regarding cut and colour, but it always finds its way to America. I don't know why it takes longer to adopt here, but she sure looks great.
as a woman with some hips and butt, I applaud the return of wide legs and high waists on pants. okay, skinny jeans are fine in their place. But I totally know where this woman is coming from! I am sure she is 300 times more comfortable than the next chick in her skinny jeans, and looks more unique to boot.

This woman has class, taste, and doesn't have to be flashing her breasts (fake), ass (flat), belly-button, bling, kids, SUV/mommy van, ghetto fashion, botox, youth and/or youth-obessed (I could go on for DAYS, dahling) in order to make a statement that she is a woman. Here is subtle, understated elegance. Period. A timeless look. Twenty years from now (I'll be dead then) you can look at this pic and not be sure as to when it was taken, because this outfit and the aura of this woman is so timeless (thank you, as always, sart); capri pants, belly buttons, fake breasts, bling, etc. will always shreik a fixed point in time and space, one I believe that will make the world of style duck its head in embarassment.

These pants and their attractiveness or otherwise seem to be a source of debate.
Personally, I don't feel that they are becoming on this lady.
They are elephantine, completed swallow her figure, throw off her silhouette and frankly, not attractive on HER.
Yes, the trousers might fit on a younger girl at the beach, gym or at home.
But on this particular lady, she is best dressed in something classically simple rather than lost and swallowed in those appalling pants which I suspect that she will throw out at the end of Summer when she tires of that exaggerated and unattractive silhouette.
I just have to weigh in on this. I love wideleg trousers, I love wearing them, I love the way I feel in them. Drapey, wideleg trousers with pockets. And flats. I hardly ever see anyone wearing them though, other than myself (at least not in the US). I wore them to work and my boss said to me "You look like you're dressed for a wedding." (???)
So it's nice to see them represented here on the Sartorialist.
I always wonder about the anonymous posters who need a high heel instead of a flat, more skin instead of a turtleneck, a belt or whatever, to "show off her figure." And pressing a woman, always, to "smile!" I always imagine it's either men saying these things, or women who think women should be dressing only for men.
(That said, I do think the trousers on this woman could use a teensy bit of tailoring at the hem.)

These pants are exaggerated and excessive. I suspect that she will wear them a few times and then dispose of them; they simply call too much attention to themselves to have any lasting value.
I think that there is something to the issue of the supporters/detractors of this look being divided by gender lines.
Men like something a bit more fitting and figure revealing; women...perhaps dress for fashion and themselves. I don't know....
I think that it's pretty fair to say that both men and women dress to be more attractive; highlight their best features and minimize their shortcomings. Why would anyone deliberately dress in clothing that is unbecoming, unless they just don't care or just don't realize it.
Part of the benefits of this site is to make some useful critiques rather than just join the bandwagon and praise without any sort of critical assessment. Not that the model actual reads these critiques but rather for us, the reader, to refine our taste and think about our individual taste and presentation and motivations in our dress. And to discuss.
But in general, all that is exagerated and excessive is temporary fashion; items will revert to the mean.
Look in your own closets; you will probably find that the excessive clothes that you have bought are hanging there, unworn. That is my experience, in any case.
Throw out the pants, Ms. Hepburn, and return to your elegant roots.
