The look is very clean and crisp.

Are the jacket blue and the pants black, or is it just the sun? Looking good either way.h

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:19 AM) :

This is perfection. The color pairing is sumptuous, the cut is beautiful, and the stance his strong. It is so crisp and clean and there's not a wrinkle anywhere. I feel like everything is on edge because it is so perfect, it has to be ruined or mussed up sometime. However, it is fabulous. I am particularly taken with this gentleman.

Very nice choices here. I love the bright navy blazer with the orange creamsicle colored tie (very summery). My only objection is the fit of his blazer. Shoulders appear fine, but the waist and sleeves are too taken in. It is so tight that it looks like the blazer is actually propping this man up!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:30 AM) :

One more objection: TIE LENGTH!!!!!
Perhaps a heftier knot would do this man well for his wider lapels.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:42 AM) :

Wow! to you Sart,
Love the juxtaposition of the dark suit and the bright red.

Blogger reflexis said ... (7:41 AM) :

Great red wall (and photo, of course)
I reckon anyone so thin might have no problem in looking astonishingly well (in practically any suit)

Blogger Jessica Quirk said ... (7:44 AM) :

Photograph also well done, Sart.

Blogger whyioughtta said ... (7:44 AM) :

He looks wonderful. Perfect fit.

But it's that intense, saturated red in the background that makes this image exceptional. How do you make a building that red? Pigment applied directly to stucco? Wow.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:47 AM) :

Impressive, jacket hugs the shoulders instead of the typical American look of appearing to wear your father's jacket, sleeve length shows just the right amount of cuff, break in the pants is not exagerrated, and the length of the jacket is appropriate for his stature. (is this the thom browne effect or just good tailoring, maybe one and the same.)

Blogger Butch said ... (7:48 AM) :

Well, I feel like a Voice in the Wilderness crying out: why would anyone countenance a jacket that, when buttoned, reveals the bottom of one's tie hanging over the top of one's pants?

Am I alone in this complaint? Say it isn't so!

Blogger Clovis Luik said ... (7:49 AM) :

Very well done indeed!

Blogger will anderson said ... (8:03 AM) :

this guy has really got it together. i hope you'll look for him again to see if he can do that twice. amazing. the color is strong...but the fit is impeccable. very sharp. i also wonder if he is as fussy about everything else in his life.

great shot.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:36 AM) :

Wonderful. A nice flare to the jacket and impeccably fitting trousers. He pulls of the brown shoe/navy suit combination so well. The tie is a touch on the long side, but otherwise, nice.

Blogger Susan B said ... (8:51 AM) :

This guy is so sharp he could slice tomatoes. Everything here is fantastic, from the fit of the jacket to the length of the sleeves and trousers, to that tie, that tie. Stunning!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:08 AM) :

His tailoring is exquisite, no doubt. He has completely mastered the conservatively tailored suit. A French cuffed shirt? Of course not!

I can see why he chose to match his tie and shoes but at the same time I wish he'd gone in another direction. Maybe a purple paisley or a lime green polka dot. I think he could have gone there without losing his dignity or seriousness.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:19 AM) :

he looks great! very put-together.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:46 AM) :

Hm..
Yes, the cut is all-around amazing! And yes, I quite like the upper part of his outfit.
But are his trousers black? It seems like it, and I don't really like the idea of combining dark blue and black...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:01 AM) :

OMG! the car! get out of the way, sir!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:02 AM) :

Wow is right! I love the red building behind him as much as I love his look. Really great shot, Scott.

I love this suit, especially the glasses, which seem to give a slightly more modern look to this classic.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:28 AM) :

He's perfect! Perfect in every way . .

Blogger O-Ren said ... (11:01 AM) :

Many thanks for this post - the styling of the long tie is quite eyecatching.

Blogger Elena Martinez said ... (11:17 AM) :

Beautiful photograph with the red background.

Blogger Alice Olive said ... (12:34 PM) :

Wow, he is sharp with a capital S. Great photo - the red background sets him off perfectly!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:40 PM) :

It's the red building in the background that really offsets him.

Blogger The Spartan said ... (12:53 PM) :

Very dapper!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:53 PM) :

Sart, I think you're only supposed to be in NYC. We hate lending you out.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:10 PM) :

guarda perfeziona!!!!!

Blogger Just an Observation said ... (1:38 PM) :

DEFINITELY WELL DONE....MY KINDA STYLE >>>NO DOUBT..effortless and personal style all in one

THX SAR!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:56 PM) :

One more vote: the tie is worn too long.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:36 PM) :

i can live with navy blazer/jacket, black pants. i may even like it.

agreed the tie length looks long.

the jacket fit is great though. too tight for some, i am sure, but i love this look today. and i will go do it myself tomorrow ...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:12 PM) :

the color tone of the shoes go great with the grey and navy.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:16 PM) :

I like just the peak of a cuff. I hated the Johnny Depp full cuff showing look that young guys and some women copied.

Blogger The Sartorialist said ... (2:25 AM) :

yes the tie is a bit long but that is obviously a style choice - very italian -but at least he is wearing his pants at the right height

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:46 AM) :

the pants are definitely not black. and this man certainly doesn't need a red wall behind him to look fantastic, and it doesn't take away from his look, it just accentuates the color choices. also, the tie length issue. obviously this man knows what he's doing. there is no way that he didn't notice the length of his tie- so clearly it is a choice on his part. you may not like it, but you can't fault him for a mistake in that regard.

Blogger Bel said ... (4:05 AM) :

This gentleman certainly does look smart, but it's the impossibly perfect red backdrop that catches my eye......a wonderful juxtaposition.

Well done Sart!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:01 PM) :

Very nice. Now can someone tell me what is the correct socks color that goes with the brown shoe/navy suit combination?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:07 PM) :

i have to say, although the outfit is very well put together, it's the photograph (with red wall background) that makes this outstanding.

Blogger Juliette Tang said ... (2:30 PM) :

silver fox!

Blogger takai gaijin said ... (8:15 AM) :

Brown and blue, so fabulous. And what a perfect amount of cuff.
