Why not? But the pants appear somewhat droopy, I think...

Not a fan of the color or the pants. But I do love the Hermes belt. It is extremely popular in NYC right now especially among the European expatriates.

I like how the shape of his tie compliments that of his face.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:55 PM) :

With possible exception of the belt, I hate everything from the waist down.

Blogger missx said ... (9:00 PM) :

I fancy his tie.
I am inexplicably happy because there is the perfect amount of space between the end of his tie and his belt buckle...
The pants are the perfect length, and add that beautiful shot of shocking color- but I agree with butch, "somewhat droopy"- they need to be better fitted.

electric pants are for scenesters.. somehow seem out of place on the older generation, despite the hermes belt.

Hi's Mr. H!
Sart, what do you think about those ties?
I know some people that use to wear it like I use to wear my all stars shoes: all the time I could do it, and no matter the rest of the clothes you wear, they fit perfect and you feel ready to do what you want...

Of course, I love the pants (funny enough you find women's skinny jeans following a similar trend), but the outfit does look somewhat dumpy. The fit of the jacket, the pants...everything, really, just seems quite off.

I'll take your word for it that these pants are not jeans, Sart, although in the photo they bear more than a passing resemblance to the type of loosely cut jeans that are sold in Walmart and similar stores. I must admit, I really don't care for the choice of pants, since he has everywhere else adopted a refined, tailored silhouette. A slimmer pant in the same shade might work wonders to liven up such an outfit, however.

By the look of the guy, his feelings won't be hurt when I agree with the other posters: the pants aren't great and they don't fit with the strength and smartness of the jacket, shirt, tie and belt...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:20 AM) :

I really don't like his outfit... hmm... the pants ruin everything

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:15 AM) :

Surprised this guy isnt getting more props? This is a really cool laidback look IMO, the tie and belt are spot on, the shades, the "pants", jacket, stubble! all great.
One of the best male shots on here for a while i think!
Altogether, sing along now.....

Maybe something got lost in translation from camera lens to computer screen. I'll take your word that it must have looked better in person. At first I thought he was wearing blue jeans, but then read your caption. Maybe with a better pant fit (and less weathered fabric on the fly?) I might be more convinced. He has a bit of a Jack Nicholson flair to him, but the thought of Jack Nicholson wearing a blazer and baggy blue jeans kinds of kills it...

...and let's not forget the quintessential Persol Sunglasses which are a modern update to their most classic design. Great, durable, sunglasses...well worth the price.

ha ha I bought the same pants, they are quite electric blue and well cut. I wanted a change from kakhis for casual days and weekends: In Madrid summer lasts for 5 months... I also bought them in very light green (prada store colour). Both of them are impossible to combine! I always pair them up with white shirts, very tough to avoid colour overload otherwise. Your suggestions are very welcome. And another question: imagine these pants and a polo (lacoste, fred perry, etc.). Tucked in or not?

the pants should be more fitted, but everything else looks beautiful, the hermes belt makes him look as i like to say "beau fashionista"...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:22 AM) :

italiobt! excuse my ignorance, please school me on the glasses. i fancy a pair of these, do you know which model they are? thanks

oh and to anon about the polos, Definitely NOT tucked in IMO

Blogger Unknown said ... (1:25 AM) :

That picture would have greatly benefited from a flash.
