love the shades

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:04 AM) :

lovely.

Blogger Ephemeralthing said ... (3:09 AM) :

... junge sartorialist? warum?
anyway ..., his outfit is so modern, yet not pretentious, so berliner!
Makes dark and black hues look fresh.
have a nice day!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:16 AM) :

Oh, I like it, I like it a lot!
So cool and yet looking so effortless.
Lovely about him is the casual look which he pulls of and even upgrades with the aviators and the little scarf.
The jeans I don't love, they seem so loose, and not really matching, but somehow he's able to pull it of. Maybe it's just the thing - NOT going for the swedish/british famished rocker -look in skimpy jeans. Also, the almost boring hair-cut works really well with the shape of his face - and gives the whole look a sophisticated twist.
And of course it doesn't harm him, the fact that he's so cute, with rather perfect skin. ;D
The young Sartorialist, indeed!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:25 AM) :

He's perfect. Cool and neat in well-fitting casual clothes not covered in designer logos. Most impressively, the young gentleman somehow manages to take the fussiness out of the often dangerous neck kerchief. A brilliant look and a brilliant photo.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:50 AM) :

it shows where hedi slimane found his famous new look: on the streets of berlin!

Blogger Unknown said ... (4:23 AM) :

oh yes! that's just great!

Blogger Unknown said ... (4:36 AM) :

In what world can you get away with a kerchief around the neck? Apparently Berlin.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:39 AM) :

cute!

Blogger MrWong said ... (4:47 AM) :

This can't be healthy.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:53 AM) :

i love it!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:19 AM) :

I find this man terrifying.

Blogger Mrs Fashion said ... (6:03 AM) :

He is cool. Love the natty neckerchief!
The elements are all very simple - classic even - and put together in a comtemporary hipster way that doesn't scream "I'm trendy". (Even though he probably hangs out at all the edgy bars and clubs and has a circle of fashion / art / design / music pals that are all super-cool too...)

Blogger Butch said ... (7:39 AM) :

Like the scarf and its use best. But when pants of this extreme slimness are actually hanging, well...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:41 AM) :

The belt is very cool. Sauber, sagt man in Berlin!

Blogger AM said ... (9:02 AM) :

All men need to own at least one pair of aviators.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:04 AM) :

for some reason, 'post-modernist gatsby' comes to mind!

Blogger Jennifer said ... (9:10 AM) :

enviable scarf-tying ability.
great pic.

Blogger Nor said ... (9:20 AM) :

I love this!

How do I replicate it for a girl, Sartorialist?

:)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:23 AM) :

Perfect, Head to toes !!! I just fell in love...

Blogger Carolina Lange said ... (10:08 AM) :

Fantastic!

Blogger Elizabeth said ... (10:19 AM) :

He's amazing. I can't remember ever seeing a scarf tied like that on a man.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:38 AM) :

Dear Sart:

Your pictures and comments always cheer me up, for that and for show us that the world is still a great place to be I am grateful.

Mil gracias

Blogger will anderson said ... (10:40 AM) :

that's cool. but the scarf makes him a bit of a dandy...no? the jeans, v-neck sweater, and white t-shirt was my uniform for a couple of years. its looks right. good fit.

Blogger Opulent CerriLynn said ... (10:48 AM) :

The aviators are always good...but, he takes the cake, with that face and slender frame.

Blogger The Spicers said ... (11:27 AM) :

Sleek!

Blogger whyioughtta said ... (11:44 AM) :

Digging the aviators and the cravat.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:21 PM) :

totally hot.

Blogger Joe M. said ... (12:27 PM) :

Question:
Would you please consider changing the settings of this blog so that comments show up in a pop-up window? It would make viewing and responding to a post much easier. I have found it a huge improvement to my own blog, as well as others on which I have seen it implemented.

As for this picture, I have to love the scarf--makes the all the difference.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:40 PM) :

running out to buy a kerchief right now. stunner!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:00 PM) :

now is the time on Sprokets, when we dance

he looks good, serious, but good

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:36 PM) :

He is pure sex without showing skin.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:41 PM) :

my only complaint is that the sunglasses seem to be sitting half-an-inch to high on his face... otherwise, i love it.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:42 PM) :

"smoke clove cigarettes and read camus..."
this guy does the vacant, arty, but ready for an E party so well. so berlin.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:43 PM) :

that belt makes it for me. a bold leather belt at the right place on the waist, a key to mens fashion

Blogger Asi Mod said ... (1:54 PM) :

I'm slowly learning the German look so I'm reserving my comment for now except to say, it's very nicely put together as a whole.

Blogger Jack Daniel said ... (2:01 PM) :

I'm going to copy this outfit.
Minus the scarf though.

:)

Nice pic.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:14 PM) :

Seine Sonnenbrille und Halstuch sind fantastisch!

Blogger simonweston said ... (2:16 PM) :

I love it. It's refreshing to see young guys wearing just a few basic pieces and doing fresh things with them. All out hipsters are great and all, but his look is age-appropriate, fashion forward and very classic/clean at the same time.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:53 PM) :

he is darling! love how he is put together. but i am having a motherly wish to feed him...
-jk

Blogger The Curio Keeper said ... (3:06 PM) :

I really love how his sweater fits. Not too loose, not too tight.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:41 PM) :

Do women find pencil thin men attractive? What the heck is "post modernist Gatsby"?

Blogger bixx said ... (3:49 PM) :

indeeed.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:11 PM) :

I love it! It simple and clean and he's got a nice jaw that goes so well with the aviators! Also, I think keeping the hair simple was great because anything funkier and he would have killed the look. . . don't you think?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:16 PM) :

Comparisons to Dior? People just assume whenever they see a slim outfit, that it's influenced by Dior.

A tired look, replicated by one too many. Un-flattering and generic.

Blogger B.Chau said ... (4:56 PM) :

thank you for finding this man! i find his style so casually well put together. i think everything works here.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:05 PM) :

He is a beautiful boy. I feel that Truman Capote would have have had a mad, passionate crush on him. Love the combo. Politely, subtly decedant. Bravo, sart. I love your eye. xoxoox, Lady

Blogger Unknown said ... (7:46 PM) :

i find this man terrifyingly attractive, though i'll admit that i'd prefer him to be just a tiny bit less thin.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:48 PM) :

This is a very derivative look, copied from Bowie circa 1977...in Berlin.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:56 PM) :

Haha, the facial expression really resembles that of Scott - despite the fact that this German Junge is 10+ years younger than our beloved photographer.
Look how the umbrellas in the back make up the whole atmosphere of the foto. Well done!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:06 PM) :

i really don't like the fit of the jeans...
decent haircut though.

Blogger Unknown said ... (8:20 PM) :

boys like him were precisely why i got hardly any work done during my study abroad in berlin.

Blogger Juliette Tang said ... (9:51 PM) :

the scarf is a brilliant touch.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:34 AM) :

To answer Timothy's question:

Yes, yes, yes. You can get away with anything in Berlin.

join us!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:17 AM) :

Re Gatsby - it's not so much postmodernist 20's U.S.A. as postmodernist 20's Berlin.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:07 PM) :

I love to see a man wearing a scarf,it is such so lovely...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:23 PM) :

Doesn't anyone else think the aviators are proportionately a bit large for the face? When do the antennae appear?

Blogger dccaf said ... (11:33 PM) :

love the hair...just convinced my boyfriend to get a haircut! it's perfect for his face shape and slim body.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:39 AM) :

Un petit air de voyageur...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:55 AM) :

A city where you are not allowed to be chic!
The people in Berlin are much less open than in other big Citys!

Blogger dnqcnn said ... (4:46 PM) :

halleluja

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:15 AM) :

The aviators are appropriately sized and the composition of his outfit makes them look modern and suprisingly not pose-y. I agree, they're jacked a little high, but he has a high forehead and he's being photographed from below, so . . . I suspect the fit of the sunglasses was completely considered, as is everything else in the ensemble.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:34 AM) :

oooh those german boys know how to dress... he's gorgeous.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:15 AM) :

He is gorgeous!!! So cute!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:23 AM) :

terrific belt, i love accessories things that look worn (or worn looking, but simply worn is better), i mean, you'd never get away with a worn t-shirt and a fresh belt, but the other way round, splendid!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:55 AM) :

what an amazingly good-looking boy.
my modern hero.
would be awesome to meet him one day and examine this piece of perfect appearance with my own eyes.

fell in love right away. he looks just as tasty as HäagenDasz IceCream, especially because of the neck kerchief. must open him the doors to all the trendy places in berlin.

on the whole: a guy berlin can be proud of.
