Comments on "On the Street.....Chic Couple, Milan"
Absolutely stunning....both of them. What a couple!
Well spotted - this couple aren't fashionable - BUT they're stylish.
She's beautiful - and I mean the whole look she's got going. Love her scarf trailing like that. And the fact he removed his glasses - but she kept the shades on. Nice.
He's brilliant too. Great grooming, Not 100% sure about the thick tie action - but the suits and casual feel work well.
Best part/
Check out the Brown shoes with the blue suit chaps.
Very JFK.
Timeless.
I must have her coat. It's fantastic.
She's chic; he's less so, due to a questionable belt, too short tie, and pants that are perhaps over-generously cut.
check out the necktie knot: corto e grosso (fat and short).
No, seriously, how much do I love her coat?
I love how character precedes style in your more mature subjects. Both are still there, and style in spades. But it's very much people wearing, not being worn, by their clothes.
Ultimately, what I find inspriring in your pictures isn't the fabric or stitching, it's how key the people are to the ensemble, and how much of themselves they express in the wearing.
Beautiful red coat.
Hey, I have shoes almost exactly like hers! Now I realize that I need a gorgeous red dress to wear with them.
Looks like something out of Dick Tracy.

Perfect clothes + Confidence = a great look!
Don't necessarily agree that they're 'chic', but they ARE well-dressed.
I think it takes a bit of an edge for a business suit to be chic; superslim cut, or a modern fabric, or a louche ensemble. At which point, of course, it ceases to be a business suit!
I can see why you took their photo -- a dashing couple indeed. The polka dot scarf punctuates her ensemble perfectly.
The polka-dotted scarf with the red dress/coat (coatdress?) is lovely... what a chic couple they look.
actually I dont find his look that special. In my opinion, he is wearing his trousers to high.
that red with the black is amazing - I'm inspired to do the continental scarf-with-handbag thing....
What a great looking couple!!
That coat -- TDF! The bag is great and the scarf -- just the right touch!
Great pic!
Great style - and they look good without being "identical twins" which I hate in couples.
Great couple! They look fantastic! love the red and black on her!
Is there anyone else in this photo apart from that fabulous woman?! I love her entire ensemble, so dramatic and simple. The bright red, the large sunnies, large hoop earrings. Red and black - so dramatic and elegant.
Lovelovelove the red dress/coat! And the framing of the shot---with the background arches---nice!

I love that gorgeous red shirt dress she has on. It's not an easy outfit to pull off but she did it perfectly. Very classy too.
I've noticed a lot of fuller skirted shirt dresses in your pictures from Milan. Whereas here in the U.S. that trend was only associated with, at first, Prada's ladylike collection and later with the first season of Desperate Housewives and some sort of kitchy 50's revival, these Milanese ladies make them look very modern and unfussy.
I really like it. These are universally flattering dresses, and very forgiving of so-so legs, which I know I have! (not that the legs on anyone you've photographed have been less than perfect).
Chic doesn't even begin to describe how wonderful her jacket is--the color, the wide-open collar--just awesome.
Oooooooooo, I saved this image in my computer in a folder called "One day I have to look like that", simply stunning, great couple. His tie is a bit 'fat', though.
he needs to button his coat.
it's like he's standing there with his fly open.
Oh dear, I am not so sure about the length and width of that man's tie.

I have never seen a more beautiful coat...

I LOVE HER NOSE! Wow, Sart, I believe you believe you win the award for originality...a woman with a profile! Did you know that women aren't allowed to have noses in the US...just blowholes, like whales and WASPs and WASPy wanna-bes.
I do love your Italian shots of the most beautiful women in the world--Italian women--with their incomparable style, passion, warmth, and bred-in-the-bone grace and elan. As always, love you, Sart! x0x0x0, Over 50 sexy broad, "The Lady Is a Tramp".
I aspire to look like her when I'm older. So elegant but still spunky
i second vintagent:

well said. his suit lacks any originality his ties is to high his hair slightly too long and the blowdry would not have been necessary.
typically munich.
regards from berlin.
I've got that beautiful red coat! I love it so much. I do think that is way to hot to wear it right now, yet I love it!
I don't wear red for various reasons, but I'm feeling the woman's look here. Particularly the full skirt.
The scarf-on-bag is a nice reliable classic.
SO WHAT'S WITH THE RED DRESSES THIS SPRING.... They definitely make a statement.
thx sar!
Save the photo, then zoom-in on her neck. Check-out the intersecting angles of her clavicles, steno-cleido-mastoid muscles (the long v shaped pair that conncect her neck to her chest), and the reveres on her collar. They come together like a big diamond ... stunning.
They are clasy. Not fashionist. What a great look and cuples.
Europeans take care of themselfs. Americans need to look back to be more careful how they dress.
Just go to the mall and that gives you an idea.
Vintage is clasy.
Agree, they look great.
