Comments on "On the Street......3/4 Sleeve, Manhattan"
i love everything but the boots. i especially love the shorts!!!
Very chic, but the boots are just too big.
The boots rock.
Love the top half of the outfit and the bottom half (those are some kick-ass boots), but not sure if I like the two halves together.
Did I mention that those boots are awesome?
Excellent background/lighting in this shot too.
The jacket is exquisite; the cut, that wonderful collar, the sleeves. Don't particularly care for the boots, they remind me a little of swashbuckling pirate boots, too much space between the calf and the top of the boot.
Love this whole look. I want those boots.
Love the jacket and the boots!
Love the look, but your arms can get so cold....!!! I'm a huge fan of sweater sleeves - as a 6'2" tall girl with long arms, they have become a must with ALL my jackets.
Yes I love this
Is that a skirt or shorts that she's wearing? The break in the line between the skirt/shorts hem and the top of her boots makes her look as though she's wearing clothes one size too big for her. (Nice legs and coat, though.)
Another grey rainy day here in Boston but here's another chic looking woman to brighten things up

Congrats!!!
not a fan of slouchy boots but these work very well.
-sad to hear you're in Milan at the end of this week. I'm traveling to your great city and secretly hoped I could find "The Man" in action while I was shopping about town.
absolutely love this site. It's on my top 3 everyday to visit.
RS- Los Angeles
that's a great coat... i personally love 3/4 length, it give a perfect excuse to wear opera gloves if it gets too cold.
What a great coat. Just a touch of military style.
The Urban Naturalist
Elbow length gloves in a contrasting color would pull this outfit together.
how funny. that's actually me in the photo and i agree re. the boots being big. i only wore them to get them polished that day! thx for the kind comments.
She looks like my parents next door neighbor
Ahhhh Milan! Enjoy. Now that is a city of fashion, and intrigue. I loved it there, and would have stayed if I could have!
As I have just been turned on to your site also, I must agree of it's addictiveness!
Oh yeah, and btw, I love this girls ensemble, and the boots do ROCK!
her waist area's a bit choppy
i actually love the big boots kinda distiguishes the leather between the stocking material better, great coat too.
Just read the TIME article. Congratulations Scott. Its truly wonderful to see how your blog has grown so quickly since you first started. I wish you all the success in the world.
i love the idea of the shorts and boots with leggings..
I adore the coat. It looks well made, and the cut's unique. I love how the outfit's colors remain low-key and she let's the shapes do the talking - a slight flare here, streamlined along the legs then slouchy boots. Very chic.
I think this is a great look and she would have turned my head had I passed her on the street.
I'd like to see her with her hair down and blowing in the breeze; slightly less practical, yes, but more alluring.
I with there were less frump to the button detail on her sleeves. Why buttons at all?
Perhaps a bracelet to go with that bracelet sleeve? And where is her bag? But then I love that she is not carrying a bag.
And I'm so glad she is not wearing black sunglasses.
A dashing outfit indeed, perfect for an urban pirate, and the best thing about it is her impish smile!
sart, I'd love to see you take your show on the road - beyond the major style capitals. i'd love to see resort street style! country street style! how personal style can be manifested in places where that can be more challenging. - for those of us who aren't living our lives in the big city.
A great mix. Love the gold buttons on the jacket, gives a slight nautical theme. I LOVE the boots - beautiful, plus the way they sit suggests her legs are very shapely too!!
I love that look (even the boots, which everyone seems to hate!) but I could never get away with it. Short sleeved coats look dumb on me.
No problem with the boots - worn with jeans or a shorter dress or skirt. It's the shorts that are just killing me. Baggy in a way that looks stretched-out and poorly made, as opposed to deliberate. Poorly hemmed. The exact wrong length and shape.
I realize this post is about the coat - which is lovely. But those shorts!
Of course, I come to this as a person who thinks that shorts are a cruel joke played on the average american woman every summer, and I'm particularly pissed about seeing them pop up as a fall-spring concept, as we see here.
@ RS:
On mornings when I'm feeling crappy and tempted to put on a pair of black pants, an old sweater and beat-up ballet flats, I remind myself that the Sartorialist might be out shooting that day, and it's better to look your best ;)
Love the coat, thanks for all the inspiration!
Her boots are fabulous. Just b/c it's rainy you don't have to resort to English wellies.
will you be going to madrid anytime soon? i'm studying there for the fall semester and am anxious to see the style over there. thanks!!
That’s a beautiful, comfortable coat and those are chic boots. however, the oversized shorts skew the proportions beyond what’s beautiful. Her sunny attitude saves the look though.
Yummy Yummy Perfecto!!!
I WANT that outfit.
love love love that coat. all of it is big, but it's balanced so well. i get good vibes from this girl.
I love this! Would love it even more if she was rocking some big, chunky bracelets...
www.thefashioninformer.com
The "huge" boots give her the nonchalant look not everyone can wear... Good photo, good light.
Nice boots and funny pois shorts!
Soooo chic! <3
