Another victim, strangled by his own scarf.

I just LOVE the colour of that scarf. It's a bit to big in my opinion thou

if he's looking for attention...that scarf will get it. i think its a bit much, and i hate to have that much bulk under my chin. i like a slim scarf that seems more like an accessory than a dominate element. its just out of proportion. besides...how cool would it have been if his spring green scarf was more in sink with the young green grass just poking up between the stones. would have been much appropriate. its a great photo. i would just like to make three scarfs from that much material.

Blogger Unknown said ... (10:05 AM) :

where do you get these scarves? i LOVE them!

what are they called? can i buy them from street vendors here in nyc?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:10 AM) :

So nice!

Blogger Cut of cloth said ... (10:18 AM) :

Stylish and familiarly evocative... Mr Bowles would have been well suited to a Jane Austen character or a floppy haired and ruffled collar Sartorial Beau Brummell for the 21st century

Blogger Jack Daniel said ... (10:33 AM) :

I don't know him but I love his coat.
Nice colour.

Blogger ojhofer said ... (10:40 AM) :

Luxurious coat, beautiful monochrome of greys with a sumptuous flash of green. Very confident pose too. Hmmmmmmmm, charcoal grey or a deep deep blue shoes would have been better.

Blogger Butch said ... (10:44 AM) :

Ah, Mr. Bowles! Very impressive use of color; the scarf--though rather over-large--is a particular treat.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:49 AM) :

Love the gray/green color combination. He is always great with color - he can pull off very bright colors without making them look outlandish or flamboyant.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:54 AM) :

I love that green with the grey.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:18 AM) :

Nice! Almost a high collar look.

A jaw-line closely trimmed beard would make him even more handsome!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:42 AM) :

This man is always incredibly stylish and always wears colorful accessories. Love it!

Blogger Unknown said ... (11:49 AM) :

i love the contrast between the bright scarf and the grey suit. does anyone know who makes that scarf?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:13 PM) :

He looks like a Hamish Bowles.

Blogger Janets Planet said ... (4:12 PM) :

Button my coat, no scarf. Bundled up scarf, leave my coat open. Wonder if it that cold.

Love the color of that scarf.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:40 PM) :

Just back from a trip to Amsterdam. So European to have these enormously bulky scarves huddling around your neck - and wonderfully warm and comforting.

Blogger Asi Mod said ... (7:35 PM) :

Hamish Bowles is always such a great dresser. He is always neat and well put together. Bravo for the lovely photo.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:22 PM) :

I love that coat. Anyone know who might have made it?

Blogger Carlene said ... (10:53 PM) :

I have never seen a photo of him looking less than fabulous. That Coat!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:12 PM) :

lol, yes i agree sarah he does look like a Hamish Bowles.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:45 AM) :

The scarf is obviously the focal point, but personally I love more the contrast between the gray of his trousers and his jacket; and his pose, with his thumbs hooked out of his pockets. So much attitude in that pose.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:27 AM) :

The scarf is too big? Are people crazy? Or just far too picky?

The outfit is wonderfully plain, with some subtle detail (the print of the jacket beneath for instance). The scarf sets things off beautifully, it's size is part of the statement.

Blogger Unknown said ... (9:34 AM) :

So nice to see someone who looks stylish and warm. No suffering for fashion, please!

Blogger Elizabeth said ... (6:30 PM) :

For some inane reason, I thought he'd present as entirely foppish, but he doesn't. He looks really great.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:48 AM) :

it is wonderful to see a man with an expensive looking haircut. quality shoes - quality everything for that matter. This reminds me of the 80's Armani adds - where everything looks just like life -- but as you say Sart - just a bit better...He is always so calmly appealing - not easy for someone so in the fashion limelight.

Blogger Bel said ... (11:10 PM) :

Great scarf against a great background - I love green. If only more men would wear scarves. Unfortunately, it doesn't get too cold here in Western Australia, so there's not much need for scarves for 10 and a half months of the year! It's a real shame.

Blogger J said ... (12:06 AM) :

A little bit of color goes a long way, once again. I expect him to have just come out of an old irish pub.

I want this scarf! Pronto!!! Hamish is classy as always!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:33 AM) :

Only thing I don't love about the scarf is the way it's tied -- i hate that loopy thing fashionistas do. It looks way to contrived to me. Makes me feel like the scarf is not about keeping warm at all. It would look better if it was tied in a more casual way. Just my two scents about effortless style as opposed to... well, you know what i mean.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:25 PM) :

I always get NAILED for wearing a scarf that's a color other than black or grey. I'm so happy to see that there are men who use them for function and fashion! Great shot of a very STYLISH man!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:19 AM) :

too much scarf. looks like an nfl football player's neck protector.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:26 PM) :

Aside from Mr. Hamish Bowles complexion, it looks as if all the colors of his attire were extracted from his surroundings...beautiful how his hair is also close in color to the old stone face of the building behind him. I think I've seen 4 or 5 other pictures of Mr. Bowles and he always, always looks put together, crisp and clean...what sartorialist elegance he has.
