beautiful photo.

Blogger looksinto: said ... (10:01 AM) :

Christina Ricci's got nothing on her. So charming.

Blogger Alice Olive said ... (10:17 AM) :

Good caption. She is other-worldly beautiful.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:33 AM) :

She looks like a cross between a Tim Burton clamation character and a subject of an Edvard Munch painting.

Blogger Unknown said ... (10:48 AM) :

Timeless!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:52 AM) :

What a soulful image!

In this picture you can see why the excess of "perfecting" makeup and frenzy for retouching every picture really rob the soul of a beautiful woman.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:37 PM) :

She truly looks like a Munch painting, very good eye....

Blogger Unknown said ... (1:21 PM) :

Pedantic, a quick google search will show you that either phrase is widely used and applicable.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:57 PM) :

Looks like Christina Ricci!

Blogger will anderson said ... (2:17 PM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:40 PM) :

Stick to the sunny side of the street

Blogger Elizabeth said ... (6:36 PM) :

Fantastic

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:40 PM) :

she looks like one of those animated characters from Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas... And that is a complement.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:47 PM) :

She reminds me of Vanessa Paradis!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:13 PM) :

mesmerizing!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:34 PM) :

Hauntingly breathtaking...totally, absalutely enchanting.

Blogger Anna Wetzel said ... (9:38 PM) :

Also reminds me of a young Joni Mitchell.

Blogger Bel said ... (11:05 PM) :

What beautiful lips! She reminds me of a French actress whose name escapes me right now. I think she was in a Bond movie.....or was it one of Mr Cruise's Mission Impossibles? Grrrr....I'm going to be thinking of this all day now!

Anyway - I think she is a gentle soul.

Eerie... Great outlandish beauty.

Blogger Blaise said ... (5:06 AM) :

i love this image! my dream is to capture images of people in this manner.. so riveting..

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:18 AM) :

I personally think she looks like she needs some vitamins, and a few good nights sleep.
That said, she sure is striking, if rather unhealthy-looking.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:22 AM) :

If Edward Munch was more optimistic, he'd have painted her.

Blogger ojhofer said ... (8:56 AM) :

Her smile impales, her gaze transfixes. The emptiness of inherent existence, this hauntingly beautiful portrait makes one ponder.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:23 AM) :

belinda
she reminds me of julie delpy!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:13 AM) :

Wowza.
That was the first word that came to mind.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:18 PM) :

i was thinking joni mitchell too.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:09 PM) :

belinda, you are thinking of Emmanuelle Beart.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:44 PM) :

now we're talking

Blogger Bel said ... (9:38 PM) :

Yes - Julie Delpy and Emmanuelle Beart combined! Thanks Anonymouses!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:48 PM) :

she has these powerful features... this kind of beauty you don't find it anymore. A calm but powerful look.

Lei è bellisima.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:14 AM) :

How is this possible? She's got circles under her eyes so dark, as if she hasn't slept for years and her skin is less than perfect...and yet she looks stunning. amazing photo sart!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:19 AM) :

fantastico,desde Madrid,(spain)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:27 PM) :

Oh! Reminds me of 'Death' from The Seventh Seal. Like it a lot!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:34 PM) :

Actually, a more sophisticated google search (i.e., with a dash in between 'haunting' and 'beauty, and likewise in between 'haunted' and 'beauty') will show you that 'haunting beauty' is the correct phrase (over 100 000 hits). 'Haunted beauty' came in a distant second with 1400. Nevertheless, mistakes do proliferate on the internet and one should be careful when using it as a guide for writing!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:48 PM) :

for last anonymous: when two words are frequently used together, i.e. "haunting beauty", this does not make a grammatical rule, it makes a cliche. saying "haunted beauty" is every bit as valid, and has an additional defamiliarizing effect, which is what this very interesting girl has on the viewer.

Blogger Alexa said ... (7:03 AM) :

very lovely. the caption is probably a take on "haunting beauty", as she looks as though she is a haunted soul, thus a "haunted beauty".

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:14 AM) :

On 'haunted' vs 'haunting': I think these mean different things. Something with 'haunting beauty' haunts you; something with 'haunted beauty' is haunted by something else, and this haunted quality is intertwined with its beauty.

So I'd agree with Sart's choice here. I don't feel haunted by her, but she does look haunted!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:35 PM) :

She doesn't give me a good feeling at all. In spite of that, she is still a very beautiful woman.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:27 PM) :

You really nailed this portrait--it's a photo to be proud of! I keep coming back to look at it. I love how it's just this side of "not light enough", as if it's in an alleyway rather than in mere shade.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:41 PM) :

She really is gorgeous...and the picture is just so beautifully taken. She looks like a model and i love the black hoodie shes wearing too!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:00 PM) :

She kinda looks like she's a Tim Burton drawing. WOW!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:33 AM) :

She reminds me of one of the starving children in a Dickens novel. She would be a beauty if she got some sleep - those bags under her eyes make her look unhealthy.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:08 AM) :

Audrey!!
Mais qu´est ce qu´elle fait sur votre site?!!
What the hell is she doing here?!
I know here from Strasbourg (fra)...wouah!
