Could the coat be vintage and worn as-was? (The sleeves are a bit long.)
Love the checked shirt and hat, particularly...

I love the shirt. In fact I've been looking just such a red-checked shirt myself. If anyone knows where to get a good one similar to the one in this photo, please let me know through this Blog.

Bring back hats! I wish the photo had him wearing it. And, if you look close, those are beautifully polished dress boots, not shoes -- a perfect compliment to the hat.
yes, by my calculations, the sleeves are 0.37 centimeters too long. If Italy is behind the curve in one area it's Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and overinflated sense of self-worth...
This outfit is quintessential European everyday, everyman elegance. We live in a culture that applauds excesses in lengths and widths - except when a 9k dollar price tag isn't attached to it.
To JoJo Paolo Walnuts is a take off of the character Paulie Walnuts from The Sopranos
This gentleman looks just like Paulie.

Now that is really over sized gingham. I wouldn't have gone for the RED in such an oversized pattern because you run the risk of looking like a picnic table cloth.
I recently bought a nice Blue gingham shirt. custom made. Pink is nice, and suprisingly, orange gingham is great and less flashy than the red.
It's a bit more pricey, but once you go custom, thats it. you never want to buy dress shirts off the rack ever again.

Wow! This is how you use colour as punctuation. The outer ware creates a lovely context for the shirt, which seems to explode with vibrancy. He shows real daring and dash.

He's Signor Pipoli without the moustache, well combed, and a really different style!

He looks so classy! Like he just stepped out of a movie! Very cool!

It's a "chemise Vichy" right ?
I saw one today at Killiwatch in the vintage section, but you've got to go to paris..
borrelli often has checked shirts, particularly this time of year
that shirt is such an unexpected surprise... i'm not sure if i love it. but that scarf seems so plush & wonderful
Is that his real name? Sounds like a character from a Paul Auster book.
Love it...the hilarious reference and the pic.
You're amazing. So are the people you photograph. I can always look here and be inspired whenever I'm in a style slump. Thanks!
OOOh, nice hat. It makes him look like something out of an old movie.
