Comments on "On the Street......The Unreasonably Beautiful Scarf"
That's just beautiful! Unreasonable is in the eye of the beholder.
p.s. Scarves.
That is a beautiful scarf. Does anyone know wherr it is from? This gentleman looks like the actor that plays Doogie Howser.
Unreasonably beautiful, certainly, but also unreasonably long, in my not-so humble etc.
But I like the rest, and particularly the neck-scarf, which adds a real flourish.
it looks like an Indian (from India....) silk print..... normally worn by women, but he pulls it off with panache
is it a scarf? a blanket? or maybe un rideaux?
I like how the scarf lines up with the pillars in the background...whether you intended that or not, it's very Antonioni! Nice shot.
victor (or rolf) has wee bit long scarf, but the texture and color seems to be compensating the length. what's important is that the shot works, as always.
I like the shawl-collared coat!
I love those colours!
Did anyone notice that the listing on the right side of page says "Unreasonably beautiful scar..."? It strikes me that scars are unreasonably beautiful. Poetry in truncation!
He looks like Victor...
Fit for a king, that is.
Viktor & Rolf's long-lost, more conservative partner.
all around the neck! I adore...
this is an indian design. my mum had a few of them... mostly silk. its a woman's scarf...
yes, it's an indian scarf, and men wear it in india on special occasions. It is made of silk (kanchivaram). very thick silk brocade. it looks faboulos on this gentleman
It seems more like an Asian (Indian/ Pakistani) shawl -- the Paisley motif is typically Asian; the color scheme, the length of the material, the horizontal design bordering the motifs, the little threads left loose at the end suggests that it's a shawl. (Also, notice the the fold and the way it rests on the shoulder.) Though am not sure if it's Pashmina Shawl.
The scarfs/ stoles (popularly known as 'dupatta') that Indian women wear are slightly different in form and design.
Yeah, the "scarf's" from India...though it's not a scarf but rather a shawl. A shawl is longer coz it's meant to be wrapped around you and keep you warm. This one's probably a Kashmiri pashmina...delighfully warm and soft.
I'm not digging it. It's just too big.
as an abstract design object it's very nice
but as a scarf it's way way way too big, not just on this guy but on anyone under, say, 8 ft tall.
not a fan of the look, clash of brown colors, I think its boring. the scarf seemed abit too long for him as well, lack of good proportions.
cute, but so chic and modern. Wonder where her coat is from. This girl could be a modern american version of little red riding hood.
VIKTOR!
did he get rid of rolf? :O
He does look ALOT like Rolf Snoeren, but this gentleman is at least a decade older.
I agree his scarf is perfect and I love the colours
Lovely scarf indeed.... though I personally think the shot looks even better for having that particular building behind the gentleman in question.
he looks like he should join Victor & Rolf....could fit right in.
This shawl is from Pakistan and is called Pashmina Chawder,it can range from $50 to $1500.
It is an Indian shawl...the 'mango' shape embroidery is truly Indian...ask an friend coming down to India to get you one such shawl...you get it in most good handicraft emporiums.
The gentleman carries this one off beautifully in the pic! Even women can wear it over a plain tee and a skirt or pants.
