Comments on "On the Street......The Gentleman, Florence"
I love that the vest matches the purse. Perfection.
This is wonderful--love the "inverted A" jacket shape with its set-out shoulders--and all the "V" iterations both rightside and upside down: the lapel notches, the collar, the sweater at its neck and bottom, the pulled-apart jacket skirt, etc. Palette also very nice.
Happy too that her bag color matches that of his sweater (well, almost).
A very nice jacket with ticket pocket and covered buttons. The red waistcoat is unexpected, yet adds interest. A marvellously well put-together look.
I'll state the obvious: his vest perfectly matches her bag.
This look is so Florence to me. I love all the tweed they wear...although they sometimes go overboard on the faux-hunting (puffy) jackets.
I can smell this man's cologne.
even with that composition (what happen with the lady?) it is a great picture, with the bikes and the colors, the trousers are green? nice!
Wait a minute ... SHE has taken HIS arm, and SHE is walking on the outside of the sidewalk. What is the world coming to?
its already been said. but really - the best part of this picture is that her purse matches his vest. awesome. and i love his jacket - works great with the red. i can't wait to go to italy.
Nope, it's about *her* shoes.
mltt
che bello! do you perchance have a picture in which one can see the full outfits of the couple together?
Hey Sart,
Is this Via Tournabuoni? I love window shopping on that street!
Inspiring.
His sunglasses are kinda surprising, and he looks so good in them.
What a class, what a style! I just love them.
Jimmy Cagney meets James Mason - bullet-proof style personified.
I love how both him and her walk as if they were both in their twenties. Her with the handbag over her arm and him with his hand in the pocket and the other arm around her.
i'll send you a picture of my grandparents (they're from french counrty) one day... you'll love them !!
ps: hope you enjoyed paris :)
Oh, old couples, is there anything more lovely? Nice to see so much color on him! That's not so common I think, at least not where I live. I like the ladys beret, and of course, his vest matching her handbag.
Great color combination. I love the red waistcoat!
some of you have asked why the lady is not more in the photo.
I was stepping out of the Tod's store in Florence, (notice i am at a higher level than they are - which is rare) and only had time to shoot ASAP before they had passed.
But you are right that they are both pretty fab.
There's a couple that certainly still fancies each other!!
Perfect combination!
I´d like to see the lady...
there are so many dapper old couples in florence. thanks for capturing it!
He looks great and the lady with him too.
So CUTE! What a perfect couple!
I love how the couples outfits complement each other
Excalibur sharp.
I don't think she meant to match the bag with his vest, though. The stars just aligned.
what an incredible candid shot. just as beautiful as the clothes, what a couple.
Old people style. I love it.
aww! i want my husband and I to be like that when we're old (and look that good doing it)
What is it about me that when I spot an elderly fellow who happens to be well dressed I assume his wife chooses what he wears. My struggle here is that as I do not want to become the type of woman who controls her man as far as what he wears, I also want to be partnered with a guy who looks fancy with most men featured on Satorialist. Unfortunately, most men who dress awesomely without their "female" partner influence are not into females, but males. Such a shame that we cannot "mate" with the stylish, yet rugged without doing the cliché of totally falling for the uncatchable. (if you catch my drift)
UNLESS, of course, you live in Europe. For all you mid-West women??? Long live the "just gay-enough" men we now call "metro-sexual".
OK, my comment spells out: it's about time men had their sexual revolution because stylish women need it.
Sweat pants = I give up in life.
Manly man who believes in his masculinity as so does all European men on this web site know that pink is a fashion statement, end. A scarf is hot not a sign of weakness, but a sense of style. Knowing how to blend stripes with peasleys is an art not a lack of judgment. How I yearn for men who know their manhood is not questioned nor diminished by their sense of style. Sart: America needs you! More than you COULD EVER imagine. Keeps on inspiring men, and young men, than being a man is (sorry the cliche) being ALL THAT YOU CAN BE, in all senses of the "expression".
