Very East Village. Very hobo-chic. If you like that sort of things.

18-20 foot scarf?

I love everything about this, most of all the fact that she looks like she could give a damn. Great style, great shot!

So very typical japanese. Love how the gold converses play off the green of the jacket and the soft beige of the scarf

in my opinion, this look works for her because she swept her hair up in a tidy style that brings order to the chaos and that balances the long, draping layers.

asian girls are always sooo cute.

She looks like she´s gonna be swalloed by the scarf, too much for me.

I just love the gold tennies! So cute!

The gold "converse" are Comme des Garcons.

The keys to the outfit is the tidy knot of dark hair above a cloud of cream and the sneakers. Hanging hair would be been to blowsy and would have looked messy, and formal shoes would have made the scarf, and thereby the oufit, look affected, instead she looks cosy and relaxed and and very, very cool. One feels like one wants to embrace that soft scarf and then listen to records together. Perfect.

I was actually contemplating spray painting my Converses gold/silver, and wasn't sure if it would look good at all. After seeing this, I think I'll try it out.

I agree with the numerous comments about her hair, it definitely balances the outfit, but I think the headband also brings a lot of subtle structure.

However, I'm not sure how I feel about the giant necklace...

i LOVE this grungy, perfectly put together outfit. and it looks effortless, which is so key!

lovelovelove it

What is sticking out of that massive scarf?

I'm not a big fan of the millions-of-layers, acres-of-cloth aesthetic, but it looks great on her.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:31 PM) :

if the gold "converse" are Comme des Garcons, methinks she overpaid

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:59 AM) :

Love those golden tennies, my friend has a pair that looks too much like those. hmm.

I would have to disagree with the majority. The scarf is way too heavy on her and just looks like a drag it have it on. The layering effect is good but not great. The capri pants shows off her shoe but shortens her legs too.

This is something I expected to com out of a city like, say, Dusseldorf, but anyhow it is truly amazing
