This is fantastic. It looks like the Selma Blair haircut in March American Vogue but it looks better on the woman in your photo. I rarely like blonde on non-potentially natural blondes but the blanc blonde is perfect on her. Very sexy and elegant. Great catch.

Blogger Tiffany said ... (7:44 AM) :

Wow, that cut is beyond hot.
I do not believe that many ladies could pull that off!

Agree with Temo - first thing I thought was oh, Selma Blair! Wow, she is seriously cool. Her face is incredibly structured.

Blogger The Spicers said ... (10:41 AM) :

Amazing cut! Not many women have the beauty and bone structure to pull it off. She looks great.

Before I moved to New York this is exactly how I expected New Yorkers to look.

Blogger Elizabeth said ... (11:37 AM) :

God, that's incredible.

Blogger BBC said ... (11:48 AM) :

I had my hair cut like this for a while, except that I had bleached the mohawk and dyed it various colors. People loved it.

Blogger Asi Mod said ... (12:11 PM) :

Fabulous hair cut and color. It so urban chic and avant garde.

Blogger Rebecca said ... (12:20 PM) :

This looks great! Such a manly cut but she retains her femininity perfectly.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:55 PM) :

This is incredible. As a grown up punk I just love it when the whole community can see that this is beautiful and stylish and still kicking the mainstream's butt. I venture to say this woman will never find a more flattering hair cut. Thanks so much for posting this. I love the other posts, but I prefer to see the edgier, more subcultural styles. Otherwise its just rich new yorkers buying thousand dollar winter coats.

Blogger Sue Le Vent said ... (2:08 PM) :

Selma Blair has NEVER looked that hot.

Blogger Unknown said ... (3:42 PM) :

LOOKS GOOD ON HER!

Wow a girl who actually understands that NY is supposed to be about looking different and having your own style.

Or at least, it used to be.

Blogger Lisa said ... (9:06 PM) :

I saw this woman on the subway about 2 months ago and couldn't stop staring at her. I sooo regretted not telling her how fabulous she looked; there isn't enough random complimenting in NYC so I wanted to start something. Great catch!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:01 PM) :

It's a grown-out Mohawk!

Blogger samanta said ... (11:40 PM) :

pleaaase tell me her name :]

Blogger Kits said ... (12:55 AM) :

I love her hairstyle. Is just so fabulous

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:04 PM) :

what makes this a great photo is the woman, not the haircut. she probably looks that good every day. imagine that.mohawks, moded or other, are on a 5 year cycle. wake up!

Blogger Persephone said ... (12:26 AM) :

She looks amazing.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:53 AM) :

emnh - That was my first thought too, that she looks like a perfect, beautiful alien.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:52 PM) :

Sartorialist, as with a great many of your photos, the painterly quality in this one is just stunning. The light on her hair is so lush, soft and beautiful that it seems surreal...the way the whitish architectural lines in the background trail off...the sharp line of her collar leading the eye into her beautiful and intense face. You have done this beautiful subject justice, per usual! Can't stop staring.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:50 PM) :

so gorgeous

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:36 AM) :

Hello! I am the girl in the photo. Thank you for all the wonderful comments! Some of you recognized the Selma Blair cut. Garren of Garren New York cut and styled it for the March Vogue and then soon after gave me the same cut. The day of the photo I had gotten my roots done by Alexis Canoura of Garren New York.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:42 AM) :

you are a transcendant muse!

Blogger Ivy G said ... (1:40 AM) :

who is she? so awesome!

Hi this is Rihanna like her stylist Ursula stephen Rihanna asked her to cut her hair like Charlize Theron in the movie "Aeon Flux" which iv'e seen it is a difficult cut and not many can pull it off, so tell me who is responsible for this cut? i want it.
