Comments on "On The Street.... Nolita, New York"
They're amazing!
when Sart asks if he can capture you. you drop your bags and vogue! i like the gentleman's look slightly more because the lightness of the white/lavender combo beneath the somber black uniform seems more hopeful. like spring is actually around the corner so it's time to transition. but he keeps it fall/winter appropriate with the solid black shell. he makes me wish i was a hat person.
Love them--her particularly. It's all very thought through, though it takes a good look to see and then enjoy that. This IS hipster chic.
even though skinnies are really just everywhere,i love them.and can't live without them anymore.i like the woman's glass(i thought she lokks like Yoko Ono),the man's hat and the jeans.also,i love the fact they're wearing dark colors.
I want to be her. She's fabulous. They are both fabulous, but look at her kickass expression... Love it. So much good attitude.
whoa I can tell you're back in New York--I absolutely love the woman, she is perfect, and a lifetime in NYC has taught me that if you talk with her, she turns out to be the sweetest person on the face of the earth.
She is wonderful! Can't stop looking at her.
That pair's uber coolness makes me want to hibernate until the hipster era has fallen to the ash. I could never pull that off. She makes black on black on black look like a cinch and commands the volume of her trench without looking shapeless. He makes painted-on skinnies gentelmanly with his cap and pastel v-neck.
I AM SO SICK OF BLACK TIGHTS! IT cannot BE THE ONLY FASHIONABLE THING TO PUT ON ONES LEGS! SOMETHING NEW! PLEASE!
This is a real 'Bingo' shot if you ask me... it's very archetypal. Iconic in fact. You have captured the Zeitgeist! (of that particular part of town, anyway:-)
Rocking stuff as usual my man.

Tooooo studied. They tried too hard. Sart, you had a pic a few days ago of a man who looked like an elegant, dapper, down-on-his-luck "old money" gentle man.His look was so elegantly unintentional to the unpracticed eye; those who have an infinity for the subtle (like you, lol) sensed immediately that there was so much more there than the obvious here. I believe you learned he's connected with Ralph Lauren somehow, but at first glance...his look hits one on a gut level because it repays careful study; this look has been carefully studied and reproduced. Where is the joie de vivre, the subtle madness? Of course, this is merely the opinion of someone who actually *lived* this "look" the first time around...
i'm more attracted to the look of the neighbourhood in the background! it has character.
That guy is covered in tattoos if I think its the same person I know. Hands and all!
They make such an incredibly cool pair. Very Boris and Natasha. I love it!
Boris and Natasha
beautifully framed and all.
love the side-by-sideness of her black shoes..atmospheric snap as per wonderfully usual! this blog is simply stunning...love it
many questions, one certainty ...
are they "in costume"?
if they are, is that bad? ... why or why not?
how did Sarto manage to manoeuvre them so that bag with its pop of greenness was in just the right place ? ......
(oh, and the certainty: big glasses do not, have never, and never will, look good/flattering/stylish, not on anybody.)
Isn´t she Danish designer Camilla Staerk? Always very stylish...
She looks like a young Angelica Houston!
I love your Nolita shots. aw
It's Camilla Staerk!
I have his hat...and I'm also the proud owner of that same sweater...I think I'm gonna wear my hat again...
thanks Scott...for giving me inspiration.
anyone know where I can find these burberry sunglasses displayed here: http://www.burberryusaonline.com/shop/index.jsp?categoryId=2119967
i checked the online store and the internet and couldn't find them. anyone know the product code/item number? its a b&w pic, but they look like rectangular plastic aviators with gradient lenses.
when will the trilby hat phase die. please already.
great photo, such atmosphere, though i'm sure you would have loved to have had the plastic bag out of the frame.
i just see and laugh, thinking that the guy must have gone, 's**t, photo time, better dump the bag and look cool'
Undertakers! The hat and the skinny jeans complement each other perfectly
