The Interview Suit, New York

She asked if I could take the picture quickly because she was going to a big interview with LVMH.
I'm sure all of us here at The Sartorialist wish you good luck!

Cute interview outfit. Somehow all the elements of this outfit would normally have the potential to look matronly, but she made it work in a young way.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:24 AM) :

Lets hope she got it!

Blogger Susan B said ... (10:35 AM) :

Ohhhh, the red Kelly, the bag of my dreams!!!

Blogger Caro said ... (11:05 AM) :

I think just then slim fit of everything keeps it looking professional but not matronly. I really love that jacket! and I hope that getting approached by the sartorialist gave her an extra boost of confidence before her big interview.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:13 AM) :

Nice outfit. Nothing matronly about it IMHO. Do you think the LVMH interviewer will mind the Hermes (or hermes-ish) bag?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:08 PM) :

The bag is defenitly a dream of mine! I feel for her, looks so nice!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:01 PM) :

She looks so good! The collar on her shirt is so nice.
What is LVMH short for? Louis Vuitton, but hat is MH then?
Hope she got the job. She has a very good karisma throug the lens.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:06 PM) :

How can someone who needs a job afford a Hermes bag?

Blogger Miss Stylologist said ... (1:39 PM) :

Wish you would have got a full view, I wanted to see her shoes...Ahhh I remember going to LVMH interviews and trying to get the outfit right, it may be sad but what you wear is soooo important. I think she looks great, very LVMH-ish. And good point, I would not have worn Hermes to LVMH but as long as it is real, then I guess it is OK.

Blogger Blue Floppy Hat said ... (1:41 PM) :

LVMH will be lucky to have her...that is one chic young professional.

Blogger Susan B said ... (1:50 PM) :

The interviewer will also notice her Damier portfolio. She'll strike just the right note, IMO.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:22 PM) :

Hermes Kelly sssweeeeett!

Blogger Gudl said ... (2:41 PM) :

She looks very nice and professional. A white blouse is always good. A classic and in her case it is beautifully matched with the jacket and all.
Good luck!

Blogger Mrs Fashion said ... (2:46 PM) :

Being snapped by The Sartorialist? It must've been her lucky day - of course she got it! (I hope...)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:24 PM) :

Now that's a french collar right there. Nicely put together. Androgenous? I would have loved to see her shoes and the whole ensemble. Could be hermes-esque, or the real deal. It sure is the POP here. But is that an LV folder? Loving the totality of this one. And the smile, cant beat that! Hope she bagged the position!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:52 PM) :

LVMH- Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessey

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:18 PM) :

I would have advised NOT carrying the Hermes Kelly...though, I guess the Damier portfolio, may balance things out. Allegiance is key, but, then again Delphine Arnaut has been seen many a time carrying Hermes. Either way, I hope she got the position.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:20 PM) :

I love the shirt. I have to buy a white shirt. Where can I get one of those?

Blogger Asi Mod said ... (7:33 PM) :

Perfect 10!! I love the high collar Victorian blouse and little black jacket on top.

Blogger Asi Mod said ... (7:35 PM) :

LVMH = Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy.

It's the parent company of LV. It also owns (part of) Marc and Marc Jacobs, Moet Hennessy, and a host of other luxury goods.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:51 PM) :

I think it was smart for her to wear another super-classic brand to an interview with LVMH. Wearing, say, a speedy, or something similar would have made her not that original, not that brave and kind of a sycophant. Her kelly is way mellow too, because it's a souple. Love this. I hope she got the job. Certainly augers well that you got her on the way, Scott.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:22 PM) :

Sart,

There is always talk about the proper sleeve length for men, is the same true for women? If so how does the interviewees length rank? Did she get it right?

Blogger Claris said ... (9:08 PM) :

Buckle your bag, woman! You want your potential employer to think you're someone who dots her i's and crosses her t's! (But I hope she got the job.)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:35 PM) :

I thnk this is the only occasion where wearing a Hermes Kelly could be construed as being subversive!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:10 AM) :

I hope she got the job! I love the high collared white shirt, slim fit of her jacket and pants, her Kelly bag and Damier portfolio. What kind of shoes was she wearing?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:43 PM) :

mayyyyyyyybe it's a fake.

Blogger dnqcnn said ... (7:22 AM) :

pretty girl,, very sophisticated outfit. I love it! and i would look horrible in it comparing to her!

Blogger Alice Olive said ... (9:30 AM) :

That shirt is divine - love the buttoned-up look. She looks extremely stylish.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:21 AM) :

I keep checking back to see if maybe she posted to let us know she got the job. Sart, if you find out, would you please let us know? I really hope she got it...
-p.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:09 AM) :

Her outfit screams CHIC...and the Kelly bag is a great way for her to avoid the temptation of wearing ONLY Louis Vuitton to an interview AT Louis Vuitton!!! (In other words, avoiding the cliché).
Good job!!!
I would hire her in a second. (and I am sure the bag is real)

Blogger Three Repute said ... (3:02 PM) :

definitely. walking in with anything LV monogram print would be a shot in the foot as far as i'm concerned.

Blogger Simple Pleasures said ... (6:56 PM) :

oh wow, that blouse!! I am becoming obsessed with high collars for women right now and this is just perfect....

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:38 AM) :

I agree -- if she went to the interview in head to toe Louis Vuitton it would definitely look more like an attempt to suck up than anything else. So I fully support carrying the Kelly! It's beautiful anyway!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:34 PM) :

Of course, with a Kelly bag, you can do no wrong. But I like the outfit. I'm of the old school, however, and still would wear a skirt suit to interviews.

Blogger ayn said ... (10:32 PM) :

red Kelly! whoa! very nice! did she get the job? :)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:47 AM) :

Perfection! That vintage kelly is just the right touch!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:33 PM) :

I love the masculine, stiff, buttoned-all-the-way plain white shirt with the tailored, ruffly, belted feminine jacket. I hope she finds this and posts about how the interview went!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:42 PM) :

Hermes wouldn't have been my bag of choice (esp. when applying for a job at LVMH) but as some one on here said, that damier portfolio did balance things out.

Blogger bomb.ass.ting said ... (4:40 PM) :

You can tell she tried so hard...especially with the H bag and damier port.

Anonymous Padmanaban said ... (6:00 AM) :

It is a perfect suit for her, especially the white blouse reflects her personality well. When you have acquired new skills, it is important to know where to find job openings to put them to work, and i hope she will finds her position in that company
