Comments on "I Could Learn A Lot From These Guys About How To Wear A Long Coat"
the Japanese have such awesome style
what city is this?
I have to agree with SAR...wearing a long coat and carrying a manbag is in the details ....wearing long coats in proportion to the lenth of your clothes is very important as well masculine lines on manbags are just as important.
THX SAR!
I love his bag!
this mans bag reminds me of an hilarious friends scene where joey wants to look sophisticated for an audition. rachel offers to help him with that and gives him a mans bag. joey loves it but the other guys make fun of it. at the end of the day rachel says: i think the world is not ready yet for you and your bag. and then he gives it up. it didn't suit him anyway so..
when a man carries a bag, the bag should suit him. with this man, it suits!
i like the bigger pics
=)
Some of you fashionistas are just way too shallow. He is carrying that bag the way he is because at that particular moment, it was the most comfy and convenient way to carry it.
yeah me too! I like the pictures bigger!
i sort of covet that bag in the top shot. simple, soft and without pretense.
you only need the "man" if it's a purse, right? if it's a bag, it's just a bag. men can carry bags, right? but if it's like a purse, you have to put the "man" in front of it. "manpurse" makes the purse masculine. haha....right?!
i don't get this...its not as if the coat is unusually long or hard to wear
I stared at the photos for more than 5 minutes, trying to figure out what makes these two gentlemen so dashing and sartorially fashionable. It wasn't the jacket because I have seen many guys wearing the same jacket. It wasn't the bag either because men don't usually carry bags like these.
I came to the conclusion that it's the haircut or baldness that made it work. A men with too much hair would make the entire look too feminine. But with a crew cut like that, they are so unmistakenly butch and fashionable.
Hey u r back :) i love ur pics
they're so fantastic
Geez, they're outfits look so effortless on them, like wind just blew them onto their bodies. I love it.
Where I can find a similar long coat? I like so much the forst one... is it a Burberry's?
I meant that these gentlemans coats are "long" compared to the shorter jackets that they are wearing in the previous post.
Start booking your trip now to Tokyo, I swear it. You won't regret it. The manbags these guys are carrying are not even as crazy as the ones I've seen on the streets in Harajuku. These are tamed versions, believe me.
Sart,
I for one would have loved to know where he gets the accessories - particularly the bag and the gloves. They are essential to why this outfit works
The Japanese gent is providing us with a valuable sartorial lesson .... the traditional chesterfield is reinvented, made young and exuberant w/the way he blends the color palate with delicious shades of brown and choice of natural textures ranging from the suede gloves donned in the breast pocket, to the pebble grain leather bag, right down to the suede shoe with rubberized sole for a comfortable semi casual touch.... the eyes is drawn sequentially to all the right places.
I've got no problem with men carrying tote bags. I think it' adorable. Actually, you can see a lot of guys carrying bags like that in Japan. One thing certain is carrying a nice bag(whatever kind of-crossbag,manpurse..)is better than thrusting everything you need to carry into your pocket.
Nice scarf, anyway.
There's something that delights me about men who look so very subtly well-put-together. Small dashes of color, beautiful cuts--it all just comes together so wonderfully.
The gloves in the front pocket are such a great detail.
where do i know the second guy from? i've seen his face before. is he an actor? does anyone know?
I love the first outfit. Fabulous. I wish my boyfriend would dress like this once and a while. Can shorter men wear long jackets or is that a no-no?
how do we know they are japanese?
I like the first guy and his jacket, especially the way he wore his collar
where can i get that manbag? it is deluxe

It is pleasant to me look on the first picture. I shall sometime try to put on the trenchcoat so. Besides the guy has prompted me the idea, what bag to carry with this subject of clothes.
