Yes! Love the--what?--culottes? And the--leggings? Puttees? Black long johns? And the proportions. And the black and grey palette.

The only thing I'd change is the hat--well, it's particular pointedness, which is just too pixie for me.

Adorable pixie boy! He reminds me of the old illustrations from Enid Blyton books.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:30 PM) :

What a great photo - the young man looks great with his elfish blackness and all the surrounding black clad masses!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:05 PM) :

love it! elvin masterpiece

Blogger Carlene said ... (7:15 PM) :

In a sea of black-clad dudes stands the coolest black-clad dude in the land.

All I have to say is, Yay!!!!!! Out all of your shots, the pictures from Paris, Milan, and New York are the best. I love it.

Thom Browne's School Days... a modern little Lord Fauntleroy.

Blogger katie said ... (8:38 PM) :

absolutely dig the hat!!

Blogger Unknown said ... (9:33 PM) :

anyone know where that hat is from?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:08 PM) :

Not to say you can't do famous and far-flung fashion people (you make them look more human than anyone else). But thank goodness for New York City! Please let it be your only muse! I think there is no more inspired bunch of dressers than the ladies and lads that strut their stuff on the streets of this the best city in the world! Thank you Sart!

Too Hogwartsian for me.

Blogger .francesca said ... (11:15 PM) :

this is one of my favourites you've ever posted! the jacket, the layering, the facial expression - perfect!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:17 PM) :

LOVE the pants...anyone know where they are from?

Blogger Anastasia said ... (11:22 PM) :

everyone is in black!!!
His pants remind me of the traditional Cypriot Vraka pants the men used to wear with leather boots...my grandfather wore those as young man..

Blogger Miss Shades said ... (3:04 AM) :

I love that guy's hat! (I'm obsessed with hats at the moment.) And I also really love the coat and shoes. It's all so well put together (every outfit on this blog is). 8-)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:12 AM) :

hmm..nice combination of black!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:55 AM) :

Urban elf ninja?

Blogger hoi polloi said ... (9:29 AM) :

He must be Japanese. They look cool in everything they wear for some gosh darn reason >:(

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:05 PM) :

i'm in love.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:53 PM) :

It's Satoshi! And he is, in fact, Japanese. The jacket he's wearing is his own; he has a label called Niibo, which sells all over Japan and has really limited distribution in the U.S.

Cool kid for sure.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:10 PM) :

Looks like he's wearing a lot of stuff by the 'arte povera' -style Italian labels like Carpe Diem or L'Maltieri (both produced by Maurizio Altieri) ...definitely the hat and the distressed boots, but maybe the scarf and pants as well. Probably spent hundreds on the hat and close to a grand on the boots if it turns out to be the case!

Here is more info on those labels and all of the various off-shoots as designers have left and started their own: http://jcreport.com/59432

Blogger benson said ... (9:55 PM) :

He should have borrowed the sartorialist's scarf to add a bit of blue panache...

Blogger Kathleen said ... (6:58 PM) :

Interesting clothing...love the skirt; love the hat. The whole outfit? Hmmmm...
