Comments on "Gilles Bensimon, Milan"
I know these pix are about the scarf ...but I love both his sports coats here ....
Thanks Sar
now you're talkin' :-))))))))))
my oh my!
i like the mix of a spring pant with a very wintery jacket. the scarf gives depth to the outfit. this is good, i always appreciate a relaxed style.
I love everything about this man. The scarves, the sport coats, his hair...
The first coat's fabric looks of superb quality, I've always wanted to find clothes like that.
I'm lovin' his hair, his scarf and the overall style. In both pictures. Thats a man who know how to carry himself.
Sartorially splendid!!!!!!!!!!!
Wonderful shots...this gentlemen really puts his colors together. by the way, I would love to have seen the full assemble...

What a dashing and debonair man! I particular admire the way he chooses and wears his scarves. Goes to show that there is no age limit to being chic and well-dressed.
Well, well. Love the jacket, but the scarf is a leeeetle out of control, I'd say.
In this case, I'd say you can go for lots of color or exaggerated size, but not both--or not both successfully.
Is that a table cloth he's wearing around his neck in the lower image? :-) Regardless, love the color combinations and his sense of whimsy.
The cut of these jackets is sublime. Natural shoulder, subtle shape, authentic fabric.
Beyond trends...
What a beautiful man.
here we´d say: luxury and wealth.
perfect scarfs.
obviously a man who takes the garment seriously; it's like he is sculpting his ties. amazing!
and just an observation is on point.
Tweed jacket/white jeans/scarf combo like the man at Etro...
whimsical color notes:
Bensimon: the scarf
the "man": yellow gloves
What kind of shoes/socks was Bensimon wearing?
Your Blog makes me smile, thanks
he reminds me of Ralph Lauren...great shots all the same.
He has a great face! He has earned his becoming eye creases squinting through the camera for so long!
He is SO cool! And there's not more to it.
<3
i think it's this man's wonderful face that makes his get up complete!
i can't help but smile back. :}
Style on a stick - love him!!
er....has he got a scarf stuffed in his !!! as well or is he just happy to see some-one!
I have to say, as much as I love the scarves, his face is enchanting
Reminds me of the white pants photo from Pitti the other day - and again the odd jacket steals the show - especially the second one. Shoulder is outstanding and the pattern matching across the sleeves and chest is perfect. Very nice.
Gilles has it all - the beautiful clothes, the great color and pattern and youthful glowing smile - what a gorgeous sight to see!
cool scarfs! nice signature!
i planned on a blog post about ways to wear your scarf and if i ever realize it, he will be the most original example around
i love when photogs get the cameras turned on them. what a great smile!
love the smiling photo!! very talented man!!
He´s beautiful...
Anonymous at 5:28 AM - ha ha ha! I was wondering if anyone else noticed that!
But in order to maintain the tone of this blog, let me just add that that's some pretty fantastic scarf tying going on there - I really must experiment with mine more often...
Fantastic photographs Sartorialist, very well lit!
Love this look.
Especially, his scarf in the second picture.
he is the man.. I love him oh my gosh..what an inspiration for me the mix of colors fabrics..and I lovet he fact that he isa beautiful older gentleman.. he owns his looks...
Love the scarves. And the white pants let us see firsthand why the character based on him was nicknamed "The Tripod" in Jean Godfrey June's hilarious memoir about her time at Elle.
Just wonderful! Love the scarves!
It's funny, I like the way he looks, but my first thought was that the scarf in the first pic looked kind of like a tube sock and the scarf in the second looks kind of like a towel - but they both work because he is just so darned cute!
This man is delicious! And talented...is there no end to the beauty!
He is so fierce!
My favourite photographer of all times! He is a genius! Does anyone know if he has inspired the new great Carter Smith!?
