Comments on "At Pitti Uomo......Match Right"
I love this photo. His glasses are perfect. I like that you only get a peek at the red socks when he sits down...so no, not too matchy-matchy. The monochrome suit/shirt work really well together and the desert boots are just cool.
Charisma is the word! It's all around this gentleman. He looks like a novelist to me. And I guess the glasses are more of a color match to his moustache (yellow because of the smoke) than the hair.
Irresistable style. He looks great and like quite a character.
This is superb--considered yet easy and playful.
Ah, that's where her (i.e. "Just Another Very Stylish Young Lady") glasses went!
Love the smile of the gentleman beside him!
Nice photo.
mltt
So his pocket scarf matches his.... ticket?
Cool glasses regardless of the hair match.
I love him!! He is adorable!!! I feel it is a shame that I won't grow up to be a cute old man, who gets to dress like that!
I love this man's sense of style. I too am a sucker for a good pair of red socks! Its little things like one's sock color which can really define a man's style and confidence level.
The guy next to him is wearing atheletic shoes with white stripes, which match the cuff he's showing.
As for the gentiluomo in the center, he could lose the smoke, hold a newspaper, and make no less a bella figura.
Is that Richard Merkin?
Right away, I liked the boutonniere and the matching socks. Not many men can pull that off with class now. The glasses are marvelous touch too. He vaguely reminds me of Churchill.
Hahaaa! This man looks glorious.
some of the things i really like about this look:
1. he makes a red flower boutonniere look masculine.
2. the contrast of the red socks and the beautiful brown shoes.
3. that i barely noticed that he had a polo on under the suit (ideally, i would have him wear a different shirt, but it doesn't distract from the rest of the outfit here)
great except for the brown suede boots.
Not all the shots came interesting. In my opinion this is one of those. The gentlman has something of "clownwesque" and is too much overstated ; even the flower at the boutonniere seems to be made by plastic.
Angelo
He of course is wearing it...it is not wearing him. Bravo!
He looks as though he has ALL the answers for EVERYTHING! Whether he does or not, who cares! Boutonniere + matching socks = a+++
Not too much, just enough!
Love him-he's so pulled together. The glasses are outstanding. Very handsome! He looks worldly-I'd love to have a chat with him!
I don't think it's too much at all... I think it's precious!
As soon as I glanced at this picture, I thought that he did a great job matching the boutonniere with his socks. But the more I study this chap, the more that I feel that it was not his intention to match the two. It just happened. So no, I don't think that he's too "put together". I think that he just has a nice personal style that so happened to gel well within itself.
oh yeah, and what happened to boutennieres?
Old men really are the spiffiest.. as stated above, it's not too matchy-matchy at all. I love that you photographed him sitting down, and the boutonniere is pure class.
This gentleman is Gianni Mercatali, italian fashion journalist and promoter of fashion events.
Andrea.
He's great--looks like himself at fashion week. But I am really tired of the self-righteousness of the anti-smokers. He's outside for heavens sake! Chill! He's not blowing smoke at your dinner, into the crib of the baby, or in your apartment.
This man is an icon for the Florentine PR since ever! He's just Glorius!
