On The Street....Mixed Message, New York

I really like the crazy mix of a tailored, 3/4 sleeve jacket(notice the longer gloves) with military pants and Converses.

Some might say that it looks like two different outfits mixed together but I think that is the charm.

I want that Jacket! so gorgeous!!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:31 PM) :

That's Anne Keane - an editor at Lucky Magazine!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:40 PM) :

i love every element of this outfit. i'm not sure about putting them all together, blender style, but i give her points for carrying it off with such aplomb.

Blogger Unknown said ... (6:43 PM) :

is that anne keane? from lucky magazine?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:52 PM) :

It looks alright. Although, dark shoes would have complimented the look. Nice jacket! And, of course, a friendly face! A smile is always nice.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:01 PM) :

she works at lucky magazine and is by far my favorite contributor!! i think her name is ann. she is absolutely fabulous all the time in a slightly subversive but still sharp way that i covet.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:21 PM) :

I like her coat. Is that a scarf or a sweater neck?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:47 PM) :

Do you know who this lady is? Because she really really looks like the market editor of Lucky magazine.

Blogger Athena said ... (7:51 PM) :

Here I am again to covet the jacket and those gloves. I love their length. Nice green trousers as well.

Blogger .......... said ... (7:55 PM) :

she looks like a lucky magazine editor... i could be wrong though.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:56 PM) :

She looks fabulous down to the tips of her toes. Anyone can look polished in matching dress clothes. But to look so crisp and stylish in casual pants and sneakers is a skill I think you have to be born with. And I covet that coat!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:26 PM) :

shes a fashion editor for lucky magazine

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:26 PM) :

Isn't she one of the fashion editors of Lucky? She always has one of those "What I Want" spreads at the front of the mag.

Blogger Elizabeth said ... (8:29 PM) :

I'd be willing to bet that she thought it out quite carefully. Or, maybe she's just the kind of magical girl who DOESN'T think it out and somehow gets a fantastic result anyway. I love the olive-drab trousers with Navy.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:57 PM) :

I LOVE that jacket! I just tried one like it on the other day, but it didn't look right on me...she looks great!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:31 PM) :

Beautiful jacket! It is Anne Keane! Stylish woman! Gosh I wonder if theres something she CAN NOT pull it out!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:46 AM) :

Asian girls do it best. WHOO!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:06 AM) :

How funny that so many of us recognize her from Lucky. Is it her? She just had a baby. A few months ago they showed her pregnancy outfits. Being a new mom, I like seeing the post baby outfit!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:03 AM) :

love this outfit! the outfit would have looked more cohesive w/ grey pants... but the green adds some funk! i like this look a lot!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:06 AM) :

Read the first paragraph, then looked at the pic.

'I like everything going on above the waist,' I thought, 'but nothing on the bottom.'

Then I see your second paragraph: "Some might say that it looks like two different outfits mixed together..."

Not sure about the charm but is it possible to say I like half of her style?

Fence-sitting,
mltt

If I were Anne Keane I would look good in this outfit, but since I am not "les baskets," as sport shoes are called in France, would stick out like sore thumbs.
Style either you have it or you don't...if only wearing the clothes made it true!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:08 AM) :

I might be wrong, but maybe I'm right when I say that this lady may or may not be named ann (or anne) and she may or may not work for Lucky Magazine. But I'm not entirely sure it's her. Does anyone know? Anyone?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:33 AM) :

Anne Keane is/was (?) the best dressed pregnant woman out there! I love that she does not conform to wearing maternity clothes when pregnant.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:05 AM) :

That's Anne Kwon Keane, if I'm not mistaken. She's the (Fashion) Market Director at Lucky and use to photograph for the FOB editorial "Lucky Editor's Picks." Is that her post-baby? Because she looks pretty fabulous! (Love the coat!)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:19 AM) :

I love that outfit - that coat is great. Definately an outfit I'd wear.

Blogger Unknown said ... (7:33 AM) :

I didn't even notice that, I love Lucky Magazine! I love that an Asian is one of the editors for it.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:55 AM) :

Absolutely charmimg and fresh. I agree with you completely. This is her own spunky take on everything. Thank you! This will spread some new ideas around.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:09 AM) :

the 'blender style', as misshoax put it, is adorable, a real eye catcher, i think it simply works, and the white shous complement it

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:21 AM) :

I don't like the outfit that much cause the wide pants make a not so flattering silhouette, but I have to confess it's a nice jacket indeed!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:22 AM) :

I have Regina Spektor playing in the background while I look at this. It fits.

Thanks for the sweet pic!

Urban chic at its best. Well done.

Blogger Alice Olive said ... (1:04 PM) :

I can't see past the jacket - it's beautiful.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:22 PM) :

I'm sure this person (we know now who it is) does have great personal style BUT I do think this look speaks to our generation (30-something) quite generally - it's US in a nutshell, precisely because of the mix. As Scott said when profiling his readers taste a few months back, our age group just loves to splurge on a Marc Jacobs killer top or a swank piece from Mayle, or even a bespoke skirt, and then dress it down oh-so-casually. Perhaps some like Ms. Keane do it better than others, but she's hardly the only one working such a magical highstyle/low mixed look. She may be a leader, but damn, we're a great pack.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:18 PM) :

if the pants were a different color...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:13 PM) :

Ohhh Lucky mag editors - I was wondering when you'd get shots of Lucky staff - cool mag!! this editor just had a baby right?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:34 AM) :

I didn't even see the outfit, I saw Anne Keane first!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:30 AM) :

Does anyone know who makes that coat, or any guesses? I'm in lone with it!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:41 PM) :

I agree with the poster who had the reaction of seeing her first as the Lucky Editor and then seeing the outfit! I'm so used to her face from her (formerly) monthly "want I want now" page.

I don't like the mishmash. For me this is what happens when I am late for something and naked--must put on whatever shoes, whatever pants, and since I'm late don't even have time to change it out once I see that it really doesn't go.

I don't think this outfit is deliberate urban blending--if it is, it fails. So many of the posts here ARE perfectly and gorgeously illustrative of urban blending, and to me this is "just running out the door grab the sneakers next to the bed" and only realize how you look as you dash past shiny windows.

And yes, the jacket is incredible!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:17 PM) :

perfect example of lady and girl. the kicks(shoes) work because they are unadorned, and to pair ladylike gloves with with this outfit is genius.
