New at The Sartorialist

I am so excited to premiere today a new and more resourceful The Sartorialist.

As you can see I have included a bio page, and press page.

I have also included pages that link to my past guest blogs for Style.com, in case you missed them the first time, and a page for my Intersection videos (a new one will premiere soon).

The centerpiece of the new The Sartorialist is the "SartoriaList."

Since beginning my blog I have received quite a few emails requesting recommendations for services like tailors and barbers.
I realized I should come up with a page for that kind of information but I didn't want to just rehash the same old names that all the magazines promote. Then the other day it came to me that I already know an incredible group of Sartorialist and that I should also pull together their suggestions. They are the ones I would go to for recommendations anyway.

So today, I give you "The SartoriaList."

I think it will be a great resource for real services that every Sartorialist needs. I asked these gentleman to give me the names and addresses of the real places they use not just fancy places.
For instance, my haircut costs $10 because with the way I wear my hair I don't need to spend a lot of money.
"The SartoriaList" will be constantly expanding and including new cities and very soon include women's suggestions with the addition of a few women's specific services like nail salons.

I am also really excited about the Shopping Guide.
Again, I have been listening to your requests and I will create a page of shops that I really love. I will try to focus on the smaller shops that maybe don't get as much press but are still little gems. It will also be an expanding page and will be constantly updating with new suggestions and new cities. That page will premiere in April.

There will also soon be a few technical updates , like category listings, that will premiere soon.

I also have one more big announcement that I will make a little later this week.

Tonight I am off to Florence where I will begin my coverage of the mens fashion collections for Style.com.
I will continue to update with new images at The Sartorialist everyday and I will provide a link to my coverage at Style.com so you can enjoy both.

Again, thanks for all your support and I hope you find the new The Sartorialist even more inspiring.

Great additions. Congratulations! I wanted to reccommend a French film to you, if you have not seen it already. The movie is called "La Belle Noiseuse". The cinematography and the ambiance of the film is so great that you are left with nothing but inspiration. Perhaps this one is for your collection that will definitely complement the book "The artist in his studio".
cheers.

Wow. That's awesome. And I must say I just love Elizabeth Sulcer's style. And in addition to that she is really beautiful. Why isn't she a model?

Please show more photos of her :) Also, are you going to implement more cities than Milano, NY and Paris or are you going to stick to those three?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:05 AM) :

About Florence enjoy it...I go a lot because of my work too, and I love a restaurant over there called 4 LEONI, you maybe already have gone, but if you haven't try it one day, all the people from fashion go there now for the Pitti Fair... Best Regards

Bien fait !

Ever since i discovered your blog a few months ago, i've been visiting it everyday, and that's more than i can say for most sites.

I just want to say that your photos are such inspirations. I don't live in a metropolitan area at all, but i think even the most common person from a small town who loves fashion and style can find inspiration from your shots.

THANKS!

Go Sartorialist, go!

Blogger Daniela Lot said ... (7:11 PM) :

Hi!
In your "press list" it's missing the magazine i read about your blog. It's called Revista Bravo (brasilian magazine). On the cover a picture about the movie Volver (http://bravoonline.com.br/images106/capa.jpg).
Nice changes around here :-)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:19 PM) :

SartoriaList!
It's not just a clever name!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:52 AM) :

Congratulations, Scott! Your blog is the first thing I check in the morning - it's essential reading for anyone who loves fashion, I think - and I love what you've done with the site so far. Can't wait to read your women's SartorialList in April (and thanks for keeping it real with the variety/mix - after all, not everyone wants to spend $500 on a haircut or pair of jeans, and that whole high-low mix is how most people live/shop these days anyway, in fashion and in life). Thanks again for doing all the heavy lifting for us! And the new features look great - Mazel Tov!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:14 AM) :

hail to the additions! keep up the good work, there's nothing like the streets and your camera ;)

good just got better! thank you for the information.

Blogger Zaydoun said ... (3:59 PM) :

The great just got greater!

Now all I want is information on the pieces that the subjects are actually wearing in the street photos

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:56 PM) :

I look forward to unwinding everyday with "The Sartorialist". I checked the blog daily, even on Christmas day, when you were a tad slow with the blog. You are awesome!!! Keep up the good work.

Blogger Luciana Malta said ... (7:54 PM) :

As I always do, I came back today, early in the morning, looking for new posts...

But... where are the news?!?...
I really miss them.

Love the new sections, your biography is very inspiring.

Don't know if it matters now, but that girl is french actor Ludivine Sagnier, in case you wanted to add that

:)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:09 PM) :

Love your blog! I loved the minimalist look of your blog, but the changes are great too!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:46 PM) :

I love your blog. I especially love your videos. You bring a much needed perspective to fashion. One based on style rather than the latest "it" whatever. Thank you!

Great additions!
Great blog, congrats!
Expecting women´s suggestions

I am so happy for you and for me as well, cause that means more Sartorialist and more übercoole people.
Thumbs up for you,
Andrea

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:00 AM) :

Thanks Sart. You may not want to post this, but you might be interested in knowing that since I found you (through GQ) I've dropped my subscription to GQ! And now all the more reason.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:19 AM) :

I really agree with this:

"It would be great if on the comments page you could also see the original photo. I always have to flip back and forth so I can see what the posts are referring to."

But I don't think Scott has any control over that; I think it is a Blogger glitch...

Blogger in defense of retail therapy said ... (10:59 AM) :

as for london, i'm sure you'll know all of the best on JErmyn Street and as for the women we hope Browns on South Moulton St gets a mention.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:27 AM) :

good just got better!
thanks for the additions.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:23 PM) :

I hope some of your previous subjects get back to you on where they got some of their objects...I know there were quite a few request to specify brands or sources...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:40 PM) :

I've been a big fan since I discovered your blog several months ago. Beyond the obvious (great photos and great subjects), I've tried to pinpoint exactly what it is that has me so riveted to this site. I've finally figured it out. You are so ENTHUSIASTIC about what you do that it's infectious! With you, we get style without the blase-ness that is usually it's shadow.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:34 PM) :

fabulous images! please do include women & London in your lists...was hooked, now addicted...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:09 PM) :

To add to the discussion about seeing the original photo on the comments page ("It would be great if on the comments page you could also see the original photo. I always have to flip back and forth so I can see what the posts are referring to" and "But I don't think Scott has any control over that; I think it is a Blogger glitch..."), one solution might be to choose have the comments pop up as a separate smaller window instead of replacing the original page. I don't know anything about html but I was able to select this option for my blogger site. That way, you can see the original image and the comments at the same time.

Just my 2 cents...!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:44 AM) :

Oh my god! I love the videos! The people walking...fantastic! congratulations! I love so much! Thank you... This site is my inspiration, my day is happier when i came here to see all these wonderful photos of real people that inspire me...

Blogger Abigail A. Percy said ... (6:04 PM) :

Wow! I love all the new additions to the blog...they are all fabulous!

You are, deservedly..the toast of many towns :)
