Comments on "At Neil Barrett"
I LOVE the gloves. And that long straight hair with the exaggerated silhouette. Wonderful.
It maybe fashionable, but is it attractive? flattering? Does she really want to look like she is wearing doll clothes?(top photo)
The second photo is a woman who is truly chic--well dressed, comfortable, and not costumey.
I love the second woman's coat. I like double breasted coats and jacket when done right on women.
Isn't that a Balenciaga top in the first photo? It's stylish but does not suit her...it's just not working for me.
The first lady for me its just PERFECTION!
The first woman works for L'Uomo Vogue, I think. It's certainly a very fashionable silhouette - but it's doing her no favours
As far as the top photo goes- I agree on the gloves- but whatever that is she has on her top half is incedibly unflattering, and I don't thnk it would look good on anyone! Bottom photo, nice put together flattering look on anyone, as long as you like black and gray-not always the best color (or non-color)for everyone (atleast not me). Very chic!
A proper smile goes a long way =)
The second outfit is perfect.
The first outfit... well, I think it's a little young for her. It's cute, but it doesn't seem to match with the woman, you know?
the top in the first one is AMAZING! I dont think its costumey at all. Especially if its Balenciaga.
Not only does the woman in the second photo look more chic and stylish, in addition she appears much more comfortable, relaxed, and happy...a winning combination! Coincidence? Naah....
It's not fair to have one gal with a smile and another with a cell-phone shoulder scowl!
The smile always wins. If you went back and caught #1 not in the middle of a conversation but relaxed and happy she'd look great too.
Is she wearing balenciaga? I love it. The photo would have been more flattering for her if her neck wasn't forward (talking on the phone) but straight and elongated. Unlike the poster at 2:06, i find this look both fashionable and attractive. My kind of clothes.
I find the woman below less interesting.
Did she slap you?
i LOVE the top picture. She gives a fresh spin to the all black look by using different proportions. if only you had a picture of the men behind her as well. they're stunning.
maybe the woman in the top photo would look nicer if she didn't look so pissed off. in addition to her attitude, the shape of her clothes make her look like one of the moody characters from alice and wonderland. take out her face and her outfit is very chic and wonderful, though it looks like a subtle variation of what other women wear at the shows.
I like the women on the top
Doesn't look very happy tho
whoa there, i hope the woman in the first photo didn't punch you after you took the shot!
i think the guy in the first pic with the cream coat looks dashing! love his style!
<3
Hi anonymous, I love the top photo, don't think they're doll clothes at all, more Japanese aesthetic (particularly the slightly quilted look). It's the hair-'not a do' that is letting her down a little, that sheath of sleek hair is crying out to be fashioned up to match the clothes! Caught her at a funny angle too, I bet she wasn't stooping seconds later!!!

the top look would have worked beautifully had there been a smile on her face...she looks frantic...
I like the gloves in the top photo. The bottom is just...boring.
what a contrast! woman #1 looks pinched, uncomfortable, osteoporotic, cramped, hunched, and trendy. the second- perhaps not so fashion but at least she could take a call without injuring herself...
#1: Nice jacket, wrong pants.
LOVE the Balenciaga jacket and the miu miu gloves in the first look she looks FIERCE!! Thea jacket is sooo darling. I was looking at it last season, but could not buy to balenciaga jackets after two seasons..
I LOVE YOUR PICTURES!!
(Top) She reminds me of the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland. The expression didn't help either.
(Bottom) That's my everyday look. I need to succumb to getting a bag, though.
dear sart,
picture #1=love at first sight,

The outfit in the bottom photo is effortlessly stylish and very now. The outfit in the top photo seems ill-fitting, oddly proportioned, and despite the parachute waist, it manages to fall flat.
The smile of the second lady totally makes her look!
i absolutely adore the second photo - she's chic, classy and real.
the world is wonderful seen with your eyes

i would die to have the balenciaga top on the top photo.
i would die to have the balenciaga top on the first photo be it unpractical or over the top.
Outfit #1 is beautiful, but at least in this picture, the woman wearing it looks a little old for both the clothes and the hair style. It could just be the picture, but I really hate seeing older woman trying to do very young trends (I'm mostly talking about the hairstyle here). She just looks like she wishes she were younger, and that really isn't all that fashionable.
awww give the poor woman a break - she is probably working hand and rushed off her feet!!
She has a great figure and the jeans looks FAB but I must agree that the top doesnt fit right on her torso...the bottom lady looks very much at ease...
"not costumey at all, especially if it's Balenciaga"? Do we wear clothes or just labels? Is an ugly, inappropriate garment good if it's an important designer name? Is a perfect piece, chosen carefully, worn perfectly, flattering to the wearer, less wonderful because it came from a no-name maker?
The first is too severe and unflattering (the fact that she's not smiling doesn't affect the silhouette; it would still be ungainly); the second is nice but uninspired.
LOVE the silhouette on the top one! I think it's surprisingly flattering.
nice lesson in proportion, this set of photos with the last few too. thanks for the education!
Love love love the first woman's look..so designer meets don't mess with me power suit attitude. She looks like she could have the second lady on toast...
Some of your comments makes me so tired. The woman in the top picture is really beautiful and looks so cool. Stop obsessing over her posture bla bla and her not putting on a smile in front of the camera. She's not in a beauty pageant!!
a woman wearing clothes & a hairstyle that are too young for her, snarling into a cell phone ....
at a fashion show?
quelle surprise!!!!!!!!
Weird that everyone likes the second look! The first look is so much more intersting and daring. The second look is conservative and generic, not unattractive per se, just not very imaginative; you can see it everywhere.
photo #2 -
I like everything about this woman's presence - her zone of comfort, her apparel - with the slight quibble that I'd be surer she wouldn't trip if her flares were a smidge shorter. Beyond fear of the lady tripping -
I see the pants as somewhat counter in style to the coat, which is trim and near militaristic; I don't mind them together, but would like the proportion better with the pants' hemline ever so slightly higher.
So, proportion and safety raise the hem...
Let me add, on photo #2, that the drape of the pant legs works with the drape of the scarf rather beautifully. And the purse/case is sharp/relaxed to the same extent as is the coat.
Balenciaga... love the gloves too.
The women have complimentary silhouettes.
Top - volume at the top of her body (Balenciaga jacket)
Bottom - volume at th bottom of her body (flares)
They work together nicely.
The first woman is Anna Dello Russo, she's editor in chief of l'Uomo Vogue and I think she's amazingly stylish
i think the woman in the top photo looks quite chic. i like the coat of the woman in the bottom photo, but i'm so much not a fan of her pants and frankly i had trouble getting past her hair (and i have a full head of curly hair so i'm usually sympathetic).
I like the way the 2 guys in the background of pic 1 look...great neutrals, shades and sneakers.
Balenciaga - not so much.
