Comments on "On The Street.....Madison Ave., New York"
Well, of course I am reminded of the person who suggested an LL Bean bag instead of Goyard a few shots back! Perfect timing. Personally, I think my big black Goyard shopper w/o stripes is so plain and utilitarian it could have worked here, esp. since this guy looks a a lot taller than me! It is the only butch shape by the way. As always on the sartorialist a great look.
Is that Carhart brown?
It's the cousin of the Royale Tanembauns!
His paisley shirt collar peeking over his sweater whispers sexy.
Paul,
You are the master of mix. I love the scruff, so rough and tumble.

and the BOAT TOTE in such a vibrant red - LL Bean = awesome.
Whoops, I meant John Malkovich. Oh dear, the brain is getting old.
The caveat being, however, that Malkovich wouldn't be caught with an LL Bean bag as he likely rather make one himself.

Well, I like the color and pattern mix, BUT...the jacket is stiff and the pants ill-cut.
Generally favor guys carrying bags like his, as they are...softening, but here, outside of the nice red stuff, well, this just seems to add confusion....
he looks like dov charney. though he obviously dresses very differently.
Just superb in both execution and attitude. Brilliantly played.
What I love about this picture is that even the people who are not in focus are dressed well. Quite a change from where I live. That being Christchurhc, New Zealand.
I love the whiff of 60's urbanism about this look; I honestly can't tell if the jacket and shirt are vintage or Etro (although I suspect they're both new), and he's really successfully assembled this idiosyncratic outfit. With his hair and beard, he reminds me of those earnest students who drafted the Port Huron statement! SDS! But the details are thoroughly contemporary, in cut and material. Cool.
What a detail, I consider myself as a blind...
Paisley shirt? Mmmm...no. A scarf is fine but a whole shirt? So wearing the sweater on top is great but it should have been a different color, not black. A green or dark ochre maybe.
Love men with bags!
The masterstroke is the bright hint of white crew at the neck.
He actually pulls off the paisley plaid combo quite well. A difficult task indeed. My compliments to him.
a tee shirt, the paisley shirt, a sweater and a jacket. Wow, that is a lot of clothes. I know it would be too hot for me, even in winter. I like his look though.
definitely a new favorite of mine... paisley is so wrong, yet so right.
Love the 80s style aviator, rays?
Sandman_gr, look closely at his sweater: it's not black, it looks like it's a very dark petrol blue--maybe even with a bit of a marl--with an olive crew neck. The blue is picked up in the paisley and the olive in the darker colors of the jacket AND the paisley. Genius, imho.
This boy is indeed FLY!

Great rugged look. I am not sure, but is that a sack coat?
Maybe jkrnyc is right, but it is still too strong a contrast for this style in my opinion.
He looks like a well-dressed lumberjack. :)
nice a little paul smith my like !!
This is the first man I see with a bag .... do men not carry bags in the big A ?
Nicely considered look
Witty ensemble, the bag is neither here nor there, in fact it is wonderfully unself-concious, and not at all studied, which is good.
His hairstyle and beard are brave, but they work bacause he is an individualist. Well done.
Nice look. I agree with the comments on the individualism of the wearer. Great eye.
