I want to say that this would look better without the cropped jacket, but then again she might just look like she ran away from the convent.

This passes. Oddly; but it passes.

mltt

She's adorable

a lot of drama! very nice!

Marvelous proportions and color play.

Blogger marie said ... (1:08 AM) :

What is wearing on top?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:25 AM) :

gorgeous shade of blue!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:26 AM) :

Too cute. She looks like a princess and has beautiful posture. I love her outfit, it looks perfect for a special occasion. A very well lit photograph too!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:28 AM) :

wonderful look. i just think there are way too many elements in it, such as the bow of the dress. but overall it works quite well. probably the calm stare of the subject just completes it perfectly.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:45 AM) :

she looks like a borderline nun to me.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:36 AM) :

I like the dress + the top (albeit the latter less so) separately, but together I think they're a little much. The color of the dress is lovely though.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:40 AM) :

this look is really fun and sweet. i like the boots and the little bulk the bow gives and the white on top lightens it up.

Blogger Alice Olive said ... (10:42 AM) :

I think her expression perfectly suits her pretty look. That blue is beautiful.

Blogger jj said ... (12:14 PM) :

Wow... that look is as warm and comforting as snuggling with my cat and hubby on the couch!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:23 PM) :

Could someone please take that waist bow away!!!

Blogger Butch said ... (12:34 PM) :

An entertaining mix of the ultra-conservative and the wacky...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:41 PM) :

cute, and with that expression on her face, she looks like a slightly more polished and grown up EGL girl... especially with that cape/jacket and her pose.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:02 PM) :

I like her blue coat... but...this look rubs me completely the wrong way. I think it's the first thing I've seen you post that that I've actively despised.

I do love your taste in general though. =)

Whatever is going on at the waist of the dress, and the cropped sleeves, now that I think about it, is not working with the cropped, bracelet-length sleeved jacket, which, on its own, is cute.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:38 PM) :

all the pieces by themselves seem beautiful, but for some reason together, i don't think they work. it's something about the too-strong bottom edge that the white coat makes, which seems to need something contrasting it, perhaps something softer, but instead othere are just more strong sleeve edges... and the colors don't come together, plus everything is poofy/voluminous, and some contrast with that would help... hmm. it's a great photo though, to show how multiple beautiful pieces, a lovely lady and a lovely pose can still add up to being not-quite-there-yet. (but i'm glad that she made the effort! still more interesting than jeans and sweats. :-)

I think this is a case of the perfect person for the outfit. On anyone else, it would be such a costume. But it's obviously such a personal statement for her, that it works--she looks sweet, instead of fashiony or costumey.

Blogger Jesse Brown said ... (1:29 AM) :

the eyes make this one

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:29 AM) :

So ladylike! And such posture! Gorgeous.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:51 AM) :

part of me wants to hug her because she's so poised and lovely, and part of me want to shake her and tell her to stop it. i like her, but not the clothes so much. obviously she's very young and i know this early love-of-vintage phase well -- it's a good thing, but not quite there yet in terms of subtlety or sophistication. it's clear that she has great instincts and i would love to see how she evolves.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:32 PM) :

haha the layered jacket look, it must be cold in nyc.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:12 PM) :

Everything's too baggy.... but I guess that's the look these days. I would have liked to see the stole on something more form fitting.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:05 AM) :

I wish I didn't feel this way (I have one) but doens't the Fendi bag feel "dated"?

Blogger Xiao said ... (1:44 PM) :

hah hah, she's my best friend!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:52 PM) :

exsquisite, like a russian princess!
